With many of us working from home. I've converted a room to an office since the pandemic. So I'd like to be able to claim something back.
I can't really see anything specific on the VD tax pages other than if we can claim travel and meal expense or not.
Have you done it? What do you claim? Example 1/5th of the rent if you converted 1 bedroom out of 4. What about electric? Heating? Normally I wouldn't heat this room or burn so much electricity.
Is it a total non starter?

I’m was really looking forward for this new year to change everything administratively, and was so glad to see people in other place be able to walk in, change everything and walk out.
Vaud seems to be doing things differently, and it’s taking a bit more time than just a walk in.
I wondered if people in the Vaud area already had their appointment and changes?

Hi, I have a rent agreement which says I have a notice period of 4 months before each anniversary. When I was talking to other people they told me the have 3 months period and can leave the apartment on 3 specific dates per year. Does the cantonal law regulate this somehow?

I have been a cat lover since living with (roommates’) two cats back in college, but being an expat who moved 3 countries the past 10 years meaning I was never in a position to make such big commitment to adopt my own cat.
Now I have been in Switzerland for 5 years and it looks like it will be at least another 5 years or longer, I start to feel like maybe I should allow myself to explore the idea with gathering some information.
I know how to take care of cats (my roommates cats at the time but they preferred my room at the time so looked after them too) and have a vet just down the road who also have 24h ER. I still need to travel from time to time but have quite some friends/neighbors now who will be happy to come to my place to play with my cat when I am away.
Would appreciate if you can share some thoughts on:

Experiences adopting cats or have been to animal shelters in Geneva or Vaud that hosts cats

I seek your help to get some recommendations for an accountant in Vaud. I relocated in Oct 2021, I have permit B and I 'm taxed at the source, last year being in CH for only 3 months I decided not to invest on the 3rd Pillar , this year is different and I'd like to understand beside the 3rd Pillar what expenses I am eligible to deduct if any, I would assume that'd depend on my income and other aspects, also I'd like to get this accountant to do my declaration next year for fiscal year 2021 so I can understand what to do and how to do it.
