I recently co-authored a paper on income and life expectancy that included an analysis of 1.4 billion IRS records. The study aimed to measure the level, time trend, and geographic variability in the association between income and life expectancy in the United States. The co-authors were Raj Chetty, Michael Stepner, Sarah Abraham, Shelby Lin, Benjamin Scuderi, Nicholas Turner, and Augustin Bergeron.

Dear ASU community,
I am an undergraduate from the University of Washington, Seattle. In April, the case between B. Goegan and ASU Economics department came to my attention. I have been following the case for a while now, up to reports from Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court, Ruth McGregor.
On April 22nd, I filed a MuckRock Public Record Request to ASU:

Yesterday (June 7th), I received responses from ASU.
- Part 1 of my request ("contracts, grants (including associated amendments and exhibits) awarded from/to Cengage, or any subdivision thereof") was fulfilled quite further back (from the news outlets), even before Judge McGregor's report. It's also fulfilled in the PRR response.
- Part 2 of my request is directly based on Goegan's claim on the website:
>"In the "Start of the Year" meeting on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016, Jose Mendez, assistant chair of the department of economics, presented the following slide[...] "
And hence the request was:
>"A copy of all presentation slides from: all meetings of the Department of Economics, during July-August 2016, in July-August 2017, and in July-August 2018, or whichever meetings of the department matching the description of "Start of the Year meeting" from 2016-2018 inclusive. "
This part of the request is not fulfilled yet.
- Part 3 and 4 are again based on what Goegan put on his website. This part is fulfilled.
- Part 5 is not based on Goegan's website, but I was wondering what the department members were thinking about Cengage, MindTap, etc. This part of the request is also not fulfilled yet.
Because undergraduate human resources are limited, and I'm dealing with my finals over here, I do not wish to look into this issue further at this time. However, I skimmed through ASU's response briefly this morning, and Part 3 & 4 (emails between Goegan, Ventura & Mendez) revealed some interesting correspondences ; you should check them ou
