As we know, when a Druid wild shapes into an animal form, their armor does not change along with them and they appear as an unclothed bear/scorpion/eagle.
But what about barding? Intuitively it makes sense that the Druid's party members could help them doff a set of custom-built armor, but what then about Armor Proficiency?
On the one hand, the Wild Shape feature clearly states that you retain your mental abilities, so one could argue that the Wild-Shaped Druid could be equipped with any armor they are proficient in. The objection that training with armor in a human form doesn't translate to wearing armor in beast form could be handwaved with the reasoning that the Druid's human motor skills already magically translate to the beast versions anyway.
On the other hand, horses don't have any armor proficiencies either, yet they can wear platemail barding without any hinder!
I don't think RAW offers many answers here, so I'm curious what you'd rule. Would you allow a Druid to have party members armor them up? What limitations would you put on it?
And while we're at it, what of Magical Armor? The DMG states the following:
> In most cases, a magic item that's meant to be worn can fit a creature regardless of size or build. Many magic garments are made to be easily adjustable, or they magically adjust themselves to the wearer
Is there any reason to suppose this would work for a beast-form Druid?

When I bought a horse in Solitude (6000 septim), the horse also came with ebony horse barding which is worth 7500 septim. I find this a little too generous and not too realistic.
Anyway I can make it so all horses bought do not provide barding? Or at least make the starting barding cheap.
