What is the Norwegians view of the UK? How is the UK people, culture, country, cities, politics etc seen from the view of Norwegians?

M600: Motion on the UK City of Culture

This House notes that:

(1) Being the UK City of Culture brings significant social and economic benefits for the area.

(2) The competition to become the UK City of Culture 2025 is ongoing.

(3) Out of three Cities of Culture, one has been outside of England, and of the current declared bids all are within England.

(4) There are cities outside of England that are worthy of the title.

This House resolves that:

(1) The UK City of Culture award ought to be shared equally amongst the UK.

(2) That the UK Government should work with devolved governments on establishing potential cities outside of England.

(3) That, if a city presents itself, it ought to be declared the UK City of Culture 2025.

This motion was written by the Right Honourable Sir Frost_Walker2017 GCMG PC, the Lord Leiston, on behalf of the Celtic Coalition.

Opening Speech:

Deputy Speaker,

The UK is wide and diverse. There are cities across the UK, such as Dundee or Swansea, that deserve the credit of being the UK’s City of Culture in 2025. Currently, the declared bids for it are all in England. It would be a shame, Deputy Speaker, if once again devolved nations are ignored in favour of England. I commend this motion to the House.
