Soviet submarine B-276 Kostroma and her crew posing in drydock.

B-276 Kostroma is a Sierra II-class nuclear attack submarine. On 11 February 1992, she was taking part training exercises off Kildin Island in the Barents Sea. At the same time, the USS Baton Rouge, a Los Angeles-class submarine was spying on the exercise. As both submarines were on the cutting edge of quieting technology at the time, neither managed to detect the other. As a result, the who submarines collided. Both submarines suffered damage, but luckily there were no casualties. The Kostromas double titanium hull meant that her damage was not so extensive. She was repaired and fully operational by the next year. The USS Baton Rouge was towed to port for repairs, but was removed from service soon afterwards. Since then, the crew of the Kostroma paint a red star on their sail with the number "1". The same way Soviet submariners used to mark their kills during WW2.

[R&D] B class Missile Submarine

The Bellerophon class nuclear powered missile submarine is a follow up to the Vehement class diesel-electric missile submarines, providing the Royal Navy with a truly unstoppable seagoing deterrent.

The Bellerophon class will use the same Type 2001 sonar as the Dreadnought Atomic Submarine and the W class hunter killer submarine, and will make use of the whale hull design used in the atomic submarine HMS Dreadnought in order to maintain low detection and high speeds whilst submerged.

The class's new Vickers Mk.III reactor has been uniquely developed for the B class to provide the submarine with 30,000shp, whilst her two Paxman A12YHAZ diesel engines provide a combined 844hp of emergency and silent running power alongside her 112-cell battery bank. This power will drive a single 7-blade propeller to propel the B class submarine to up to 25 knots submerged.

The B class will missile submarine will use identical launch tubes to the Vehement class, however will be used to carry the newer Polaris A-3 missile, to be named the Amber Dragon 2 in British Service.

Any electricians here who specialize in a "non traditional" eviorment such as ships, wind turbines, submarines, automotive, etc. What type of work do you do, how much do you make, and how did you get there?

I know that sky is the limit when it comes to being an electrician, there's hundreds of different settings where electricians are needed. I was wondering about the smaller, lesser known settings that would require an electrician who specializes in that specific area.

If any of you do more specific, specialized work that we don't often hear about, tell me about it! I'm curious.

Especially if you take scuba gear to work. There's gotta be an electrician somewhere who specializes in some under water shit lol.
