A list of puns related to "Twelve Oaks"
Title pretty much says it; coming up from Charlotte NC for an unplanned family visit, looking for some good restaurants to take (adult) family to for dinner once or twice while I'm there. My aunt's place is off 10 Mile and Haggarty, I'll be staying further south on Haggerty closer to 8 mile, so that general area is good.

Duckhorn is one of the classic Napa Valley wineries. Dan Duckhorn(owner) actually put California on the map as a viable place to plant Merlot when everyone said it wouldn't work. To this day it is an industry standard and benchmark.
Wine Country's Twelve Oaks bottle shop will be hosting a paid tasting of the wineries top wines. It is $15 per person and you get to taste through these 6 great wines. They are higher tier and would make great holiday gifts. We hope to see you Wednesday from 5-7p!
We are excited to have a tasting of one of the great California properties. Duckhorn has been a standard in California for many years. We'll have Wallace McKeel from Purveyor of Fine Wine and Jason Johnson representing Duckhorn Winery pouring these great wines for us:
Duckhorn Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Duckhorn Napa Valley Chardonnay 2014
Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2014
Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot 2014
Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet 2014

Weβre continuing the saga of James Strang today, addressing Jeremyβs various concerns and comments. If you read the prior post, you know that this is a crazy story and Strang was a rather colorful character. Jeremy Runnells, of course, does not go into any of that history or the clear signs of deception, and only focuses on the few similarities between Strang and Joseph Smithβnamely, that he claimed to translate some plates by the power of God and that he had some witnesses for those plates. Weβll go through those similarities and the differences in more detail as we go through Jeremyβs questions/comments.
Jeremy begins:
> James Strang and his claims are fascinating. He was basically Joseph Smith 2.0 β but with a twist.
I do actually partially agree with Jeremy on this: James Strangβs story is somewhat fascinating to me. Itβs full of bizarre twists and turns, conspiracies, and one unexpected event after another. Iβm not gonna lie, I read that biography rather quickly. It was all so absurd, I couldnβt put it down. I do not, however, agree that he is much at all like Joseph Smith, and he certainly isnβt Version 2.0. His βtwistβ is that he was pretty clearly (to me, at least) a fraud.
> Like Joseph, Strang did the following:
> - Claimed that he was visited by an angel who reserved plates for him to translate into the word of God. βThe record which was sealed from my servant Joseph. Unto thee it is reserved.β > - Received the βUrim and Thummimβ. > - Produced 11 witnesses who testified that they too had seen and inspected ancient metal plates. > - Introduced new scripture. After unearthing the plates (the same plates as Laban from whom Nephi took the brass plates in Jerusalem), Strang translated it into scripture called the β[Book of the Law of the Lord](https://en.wikipedia

I was curious about what was hidden under the clothing of a member of the opposite sex. One day at about age nine my girlfriend and I played "I'll show you mine if you show me yours". Little did I know that a neighbour happened to see us. I ended up feeling that I did something very, very wrong and that God was mad at me.
Even to this very day, I have never seen my parents in the nude. I can remember going swimming with my father and brothers. After our swim, I would watch another father and son wander off in the nude together to enjoy the showers. I wished that I too could feel good and comfortable about such an experience.
One day at about age twelve my younger brothers found a nudist magazine that highlighted nudity within the family structure. It looked like fun. Shortly thereafter, while my parents were out, my two brothers and I removed all of our clothing and ran around nude.
At that time I equated nudity with sex and had a difficult time being comfortable with myself in an unclothed environment. Sometime later I got my hands on another publication that highlighted the nudist movement. In it, there was a photo of several teenagers from both genders walking around nude on the beach. Deep down I wanted the opportunity to do the same thing, and to feel as free and comfortable as they looked, without a feeling of shame, fear or unwanted arousal. My mother found the publication and took it. I was never able to see it again.
Needless to say, my other male friends and I would go to great lengths to seek photos of unclothed members of the opposite sex. At the same time, I would do all that I could to avoid being clothed in front of my friends. Skinny dipping at a friend's cottage was something that I just did not have the courage to do. Having a shower after gym class in high school, no matter how badly I needed one, was a "no-no".
At about the age of 16, I want to an all-boys camp as a junior counsellor. It was a program for seven to eleven-year-olds. Much to my surprise, that first evening the leaders had all forty boys skinny-dip for their evening bath. As I watched in awe, most of the boys could not wait to disrobe. And then they did not want to get out of the water to get dressed. Before the week was out, I found myself joining the campers. For the first time, I enjoye

But if God could choose anyone, and not just the oldest person in the twelve, who would be a good prophet?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Welcome to the week 5 Official R/NFL Power Rankings! In week 5 news Brady is on an MVP pace, Dan Snyder found a fall guy, and the Chiefs could use an extra day of rest from the scary coverages they've faced lately. Has anyone been ranking ahead of the curve? Which teams are poised for a change? Discuss! 32/32 reporting
# | Team | Ξ | Record | Comment | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1. | Bills | +1 | 4-1 | The Buffalo Bills are plain and simple playing incredible football right now. The team has a ridiculous +108 point differential, and that's with a week 1 loss. They're playing like the most complete team in football right now. Sure, dropping 38 on that abysmal Chiefs defense isn't absurd in and of itself, but holding them to just 20 points? Beating them by three scores? Now that's impressive. Buffalo came out this week and sent a message. The revenge tour continues now with a trip back to the scene of their worst 2020 loss: Tennessee. | |
2. | Cardinals | -1 | 5-0 | The Cardinals are consistent. As in, they consistently play up or down to their opponents level. This time, the Cardinals decided to play to the 49ers level by having the whole team get hurt. QB Kyler Murray, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Maxx Williams, and C Rodney Hudson all picked up varying degrees of injuries. The offense seemed out of rhythm, the defense was hobbled, and Byron Murphy Jr. didnβt even get to play due to injury. The Cardinals escape with a win, but Kingsbury will need to tighten things up to compete against an angry Cleveland team. | |
3. | Buccaneers | -- | 4-1 | The Blaine train came roaring out of the station on Sunday afternoon after a dominant 45-17 win over the Dolphins in which the GOAT threw for 411 yards, 5 TD's, 0 INT's, and a 144.4 passer rating. The victory came with yet another massive blow to the Bucs' defense, as Lavonte David suffered a low ankle sprain and will be out for the next few weeks. Offensively, the Bucs are firing on all cylinders and will face an Eagles defense that is giving up 142 rushing yards per game. Expect a big game from Leonard Fournette, who is off to a hot start this year. | |
4. | Rams | -- | 4-1 | Thursday was a weird night to be fingers on a QB as both starters struggled through inj |
I knew I wasn't getting a husband today, but I still had to wear the same robe I was given at fifteen (now practically threadbare), and go to the annual matching ceremony. Pansy watched me with her typical feline disinterest as I prepared myself, and she yawned and curled up on my bed as I waved goodbye and walked out into the night.
After hiking up the highest hill in our commune, I sat on one of the mats reserved for the unmatched, studying the nervous girls in the hut with me. Soon, all the boys that turned fifteen this year will enter, meet with us, and make their choice. Whoever they choose must accept, as it was EorΓΎe's will and we must abide so He'd continue blessing our lands.
I used to feel humiliated at these ceremonies. Most girls get matched on their first attendance, at fifteen. A few may get lucky a year or two later. But me? I was already thirty-five and still as single as ever.
The community pitied me at first, but the older I got, the more they started avoiding me. Especially the young unmatched girls. They didn't want my curse to rub off on them.
Honestly, though, once I hit twenty, it felt more like a blessing than a curse. We were taught from childhood that a girl's purpose was to serve her husband, and at fifteen, I desperately wanted to prove my worth. But as I grew older, the council didn't know what to do with me, so they had me tend to their gardens, still serving men until a man matched with me.
Although I lived in a hut on their property, they left me alone, for it was improper for men to interact with unmatched girls, no matter their age. Their wives and children left me alone too, due to my aforementioned "curse". And it was then that I learned how wonderful it was to be independent. Just me, my little hut, the gardens, and Pansy.
I was still forced to continue attending the ceremonies though, but I began enjoying them. Certain none of the boys would choose me over one of the younger girls, I'd relax and watch their awkward courtship rituals, trying to guess who'd match with who.
After a few years, my predictions became flawless, especially after I began drinking dandelion tea before the ceremony. Intrigued, I experimented with herbs, roots, and flowers from the garden, and soon I could even foresee the matched's futures. I was certain I was tapping into EorΓΎe's will due to my connection to His creations.
A bell chimed, and I adjusted my patched robe and smiled as a train of teenage boys entered the hut. They walk
