A list of puns related to "Top quark"
So I had a discussion with a theoretical physics student who says that this is a really big misconception. I'm confused now. Help?
I'm just an aficionado so try to keep it dumbed down please!
All articles I've seen state that the mass of the Higgs and the top quark seem to be on the limit between stability and metastability, although it still hasn't been confirmed. My question is not regarding in which state the universe is but why does this measurements relate to it. Why does it mean than if the masses of these particles was different then the universe will be in another estate of stability/instability/metaestability/non-perturbability?
In short, where do the regions of this chart come from and why are they there?
Also, what does the non-perturbability region mean?
Thanks!
EDIT: I see lots of shadow banned people here.
I suppose a shorter way to ask this question would be; What do the other Composite particles aside from protons and neutrons get up to in the universe...
*Spelling Mistake in title (Tai is supposed to be Tau)
Was the top energy there all along, hidden by an up quark in one of the colliding protons?
Or does the top quark energy come from the collision energy?
or something else?
I was looking at baryon pairs and couldnβt find any with a top quark
Probing top quark FCNC couplings in the triple-top signal at the high energy LHC and future circular collider

Abstract (Elsevier)
Our main aim in this paper is to present detailed studies to probe the top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions at tqg , tqΞ³ , tqH and tqZ(ΟΞΌΞ½,Ξ³ΞΌ) vertices in the triple-top signal ppβttΒ―t(tΒ―ttΒ―) at the high energy proposal of Large Hadron Collider (HE-LHC) and future circular hadron-hadron collider (FCC-hh). To this end, we investigate the production of three top quarks which arise from the FCNC couplings taken into account the fast simulation at s=27 TeV of HE-LHC and 100 TeV of FCC-hh considering the integrated luminosities of 10, 15, and 20 ab β1 . All the relevant backgrounds are considered in a cut-based analysis to obtain the limits on the anomalous couplings and the corresponding branching ratios. The obtained exclusion limits on the coupling strengths and the branching ratios are summarized and compared in detail with the results in the literature, namely the most recent direct LHC experimental limits and HL-LHC projections as well. We show that, for the higher energy phase of LHC, a dedicated search for the top quark FCNC couplings can achieve much better sensitivities to the triple-top signal than other top quark production scenarios. We found that the limits for the branching ratios of tqg and tqH transitions could reach an impressive sensitivity and the obtained 95% CL limits are at least three orders of magnitude better than the current LHC experimental results as well as the existing projections of HL-LHC.

Is there a gender bent cute Quark? Is strange Quark into feet and piss?

Or maybe he's a strange, a charm, an up, or a down... I'm just not sure what type of Quark he is.
I assume the female gay quarks are called butch and femme.
Also are there any power bottom quarks?
I attended a talk about the Higgs discovery today, and I had a questions I didn't get a chance to ask the speaker. The top quark was discovered relativitly, recently at the Tevatron at Fermilab, and it has a mass of about 170 GeV. However, the Tevatron was not energetic enough to discover the Higgs (or "Higgs-like boson" if you'd prefer), even though it had a mass of 126 GeV. Why was the Higgs so much more elusive, or why was the Top quark easier to find?
There can be a hidden fourth alignment that's the unused alternate names for top/bottom, which is truth/beauty.
Hi all,
I've been looking to build a staggered 40%, but haven't had much luck in finding even a top plate. Especially since the Quark has been discontinued. However, after a brief back interaction with /u/TurtleLightning, I realized there might be enough interest to get a small group buy for a small run of custom cut staggered 40% plates. I'm not sure how this is kind of stuff is normally run, but here is my proposal.
A staggered 40% layout (similar to the Quark) top plate cut from 0.06" T-304 Stainless Steel. The plate design is the simple square cut out for all switches except the spacebar which has Cherry-only stabilizer mounts. The prices below are from Big Blue Saw, but if someone proposes a better fabricator then I can price that out. We'd need at least 5 people to make this happen. The prices below include shipping to your door within the continental US.

Edit: Obviously I can't call this keyboard a Quark, so I'm thinking the Bantam-40 is a good name. It also looks like we have 5 people on board with a couple tentative, so it looks like this is gaining a bit of traction. I'll keep a list of users who are interested. Abstract (Elsevier)
Our main aim in this paper is to constrain the effective field theory describing the top quark couplings through the eβe+βttΒ― + jet process. The analysis is carried out considering two different center-of-mass energies of 500 and 3000 GeV including a realistic simulation of the detector response and the main sources of background processes. The expected limits at 95% CL are derived on the new physics couplings such as ttΒ―Ξ³ , ttΒ―Z , and ttΒ―g for each benchmark scenario using the dileptonic ttΒ― final state. We show that the 95% CL limits on dimensionless Wilson coefficients cΒ―i considered in this analysis could be probed down to 10β4 .
