A list of puns related to "Tomorrow When the War Began (TV series)"
I'm in the last half of The Other Side of Dawn of the Tomorrow series by John Marsden, and it just makes me so sad to think that this is the end. I read a lot, but it's been a very long time since I was this invested in a story. I feel the book-hangover hanging over me already.
I'd be interested to hear, if you read it, what you all thought about it? Did you read the whole series? Are you Australian? (I'm Dutch, but was recommended this series by an Australian extended family member) What was your favorite book? (Mine is A Killing Frost)
I was super impressed by the main character, Ellie. Personally I identified with her a lot and found her very believable.
After so many years of waiting and cancelled shows..... IT arrives and it shall be glorious. It'll be an honor to experience this experience with everyone.

Tomorrow, When the War Began has a AM character Lee Takkam (Chris Pang) that is depicted as a masculine badass and features an AMWF couple of Chris Pang and Caitlin Stasey. The most notable part about the couple is that it is a very naturally developed couple that doesn't focus on the typical racial differences. This has a great normalizing effect of showing that AMWF couples shouldn't be something that requires special remark and that Asian males being attractive to women of any race can be very natural.
I love the βTomorrow, when the war beganβ series by John Marsden !
Is about a bunch of Australian teenagers that go camping in the outback for a couple days while there is a fair on in their town and when they get back they discover that there town has been invaded by another country and (almost) everyone had been captured and held hostage at the fair. Itβs all about there survival and fight back against the invaders.
Itβs an amazing and captivating story and would recommend it to everyone. There is action, romance and thrill and itβs honestly one of my favourite series, going to be re-reading it for the 3rd time !
Enjoy !!
The TWTWB show on the ABC just finished its first season.
It was pretty accurate to the book and I thought the acting was pretty good.
I think there was some differences in timing towards the end but having a 6 part miniseries allowed for different pacing to the film adaptation (2010).
It's available on iView, although episode 1 expired and 2 is about to.
Background-- I get the impression from various commentors (for example in this thread) that there's a modern audience that sees Holmes as an action figure and maybe even a 'superhero' figure, even going back to the books.
Personally, and as someone who read all the books, I really don't see it that way. OTOH I'm open to the idea that at some point the character began to be interpreted as more of an action figure in film and TV. But when was that, do you think?
Could Jeremy Brett's portrayal (and possibly Vasily Livanov's) helped create this kind of shift?
Loved the series, looking for something similar.
I read the Tomorrow series a few years ago and just now I found the Ellie Chronicles. Is it any good? And also, I was hoping someone could refresh my mind, since I barely remember the original series.

Since I haven't seen it talked about here, I wanted to spotlight "Tomorrow, When the War Began." The movie has a full AM character Lee Takkam (Chris Pang) that is depicted as a masculine badass and features an AMWF couple of Chris Pang and Caitlin Stasey. The most notable part about the couple is that it is a very naturally developed couple that doesn't focus on the typical racial differences. This has a great normalizing effect of showing that AMWF couples shouldn't be something that requires special remark and that full Asian males being attractive to women of any race can be very natural. I think that this is a good example of the type of positive AM representation that we need to strive for in Hollywood.
