I remember playing this game when I was younger. Back when I had free time in computer class, would go to those mini games pages full of flash games and found it in multiple ones yet doesn't seem to exist in any I know anymore. Around the time of games like Club Penguin being in mini clip and Pandemic II around the place.
Note that my memory could be tainted, but as far as I remember the game started by telling you something horrible is happening in this rustic village. Everyone believes there's some sort of plague making everyone sick and your job is to figure it out. I don't think you ever actually see another person besides corpses and the camera is in first person, but can't recall.
The game is all in black and white. Illustrations with outlines. Between the eerie audio (or lack of it) and visuals, the game cheats you into thinking it's going to be a super spooky horror game but it never really goes into true scares besides a couple rats running around when you click certain things or ravens flying off. I remember a house with a straw roof and a water wheel, as well as basements and some roads that lead into the forest.
What I recall the most is the ending. Spoiler alert I guess? But it's a super old game so here we go anyways: There was never a plague. It was a vampire living under the town that drained people. You find it sleeping in its coffin by the end. It never moves. You finish by killing it with a stake through its heart. One part of my brain tells me there was color here but I doubt it.
It'd kill me to reach the end of 2020 with the end of Flash without seeing this again. Been trying to look for this for years now with no luck, so now I am here asking for help. Thanks and may no vampires ever live under your homes!

The title says it itself. I've read The Outsider by SK and watched True Detective season 1 multiple times, and I have since then had taken a liking to any media that deals with an authority figure dealing against the presence of the occult. Preferrably a book that concretely admits the presence of an unholy organization, with rituals and rites. (Not unlike in True Detective where they only dropped hints, bits and pieces of the Yellow King cult.) Can anybody help me with this need? Much appreciated.

The Detective Pikachu event is such a lost opportunity. It could have been something extremely fun and interesting, but ends up feeling like a mish-mash of rehashed ideas and lack of innovation.
I was picturing myself running around doing an epic Special Research, bringing me to new places, taking pictures of clues and being a detective. Searching for a shiny Aipom does not make me feel like a detective, it is absolutely no different to the last 5+ events we have had. I am thoroughly disappointed in Niantic.
Here are some ideas for how it could have been an epic Special Research:
- Make us visit new PokΓ©stops (investigate new places)
- Make us snap photos of suspects (search for clues/interrogate them)
- Hunt down specific PokΓ©mon. Similar to the research tasks we got, but more of them
- Send gifts to other trainers (share clues between each other)
- Give everyone a Shiny Aipom / Shiny Detective Pikachu for completing it
They didn't have to make it a seven-step Special Research, I just wish they made me feel like a detective.
