Part of the "sacred Jedi texts" are canonically written in Persian according to the TROS Visual Dictionary...

So I was reading the TROS Visual Dictionary and noticed in the section on the Jedi texts that some of the writing was...well, familiar. There was very clearly what looked like Arabic script in some of the writing. I show this to my cousin and she immediately identified it as al-Biruni's Persian writings on the phases of the moon. Take a look for yourself...

"Jedi texts" from TROS Visual Dictionary describing the "Phases of Mortis"

Page from Al-Biruni's Kitab al-Tafhim describing the phases of the moon

The page was clearly copy pasted into the visual dictionary without much alteration. The text is 100% the same. So I guess we can now say the ancient Jedi spoke medieval Persian.

Fun fact: the word on the right is "aftab" which is the Persian word for sunlight. >!Aftab is also the name of Ackbar's son in TROS.!<

The Rise of Skywalker visual dictionary is a total joke

Apparently these books have gone from explaining who Salacious B. Crumb is and what’s included in a Stormtroopers kit to providing full on plot points and character back stories for things like the Knights of Ren and the Sith Fleet Personnel. I guess the Knights of Ren have been around for hundreds of years (maybe) and are somewhat Force-sensitive. And also have names. And it was apparently a big deal when Kylo took them over. And there was another person named Ren. But don’t expect the movies to tell you that.

Started learning French - looking for the best dictionary app

Hi guys, I started learning French recently and am looking for a good French dictionary app (for Android phones).

I've been learning Spanish for the past year and found this great app called SpanishDictionary, what I like about it is that when I type more than one word, it uses Google's engine to translate so I can translate sentences and expressions. I can also write a conjugated verb and it will know to send me to the infinitive form translation page and I can see all the different conjugations, different meanings of the word and examples. It has some other advantages but these are the most important to me. I hope you know an app like this for French.

Would love to hear from your recommendations, Merci!
