After a minor hitch, we're back in business. With 68 of 172 votes, Sign In Stranger is our next song to go. All eliminations are final, so this zombie won't be born again, my friends.
Four excellent tunes still stand. It may be painful to vote for your least favorite of the bunch, but that's the point of the game, after all! Vote for your LEAST favorite remaining song from The Royal Scam, and please remember to upvote this post for visibility purposes!

Um, wow. That was a blowout. To be honest, I was expecting a blowout in Round 1, just not of this magnitude, and not for the song that I was thinking of! With a new high of 213 overall votes in the first round, an astounding 99 of them went to Everything You Did. I'm really shocked to see this one go with so much force, as I think it really has everything that makes Steely Dan great: lots of sarcastic, humorous lyrics, some incredible guitar licks, and even a nod to fellow American rockers the Eagles (who would later return the favor on their signature tune Hotel California). Though I do suppose that pretty much every song on this album has all of that too!
The neighbors are listening, so let's turn up the heat in Round 2. Vote for your LEAST favorite remaining song from The Royal Scam, and upvote this post for visibility!

That concludes another edition of Survivor! Thanks to you guys, we had our most successful Survivor yet, averaging 202 votes per round. Back when we began Can't Buy a Thrill, I considered 123 votes a huge success. Well, just take a look at us now!
So how did the final round shake out? For reference, it was our closest finale to date, yet 25 votes still separated the winning and losing tracks. Of the record 226 votes cast in the climax, 125 were for The Caves of Altamira, so the woolly man without a face and the beast without a name take second place today. I'm glad to see this one made it so far, as it's always been a personal favorite of mine. When I first got into these guys and purchased the 2-CD compilation The Very Best of Steely Dan, I was bummed that The Caves of Altamira wasn't on it. Looks like I wouldn't have been the only one to feel that way!
So who's the sole survivor? You should know by now. It's a contender for my very favorite Steely Dan song. I present to you the champion of The Royal Scam: Survivor...
KID CHARLEMAGNE! "While the music played, you worked by candlelight..."
Here's how the tracks of The Royal Scam rank according to r/SteelyDan:
You know what's next. Tomorrow, we start the grand-daddy of them all: 1977's Aja. Yes, you've listened to it at least 1,000 times, but go back, Jack, and do it again. Join us here tomorrow back at our usual time (11 a.m. EST) with your least favorite song in mind. See ya tomorrow!
Do you ever feel like you're being manipulated but aren't smart enough to figure out why? That's how I feel about all the promoted posts about the royal baby's name.
Here is my story about military romance scams on Facebook and Instagram. The fraud has ensnared thousands of victims and smeared the reputations of countless soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. While such scams have proliferated on social media for years, Facebook and the United States military appear helpless to stop it. The most recent episode of The Timesβs new TV show, βThe Weekly,β was a one-hour special focused on the problem.
For the story, I spoke to dozens of victims β both the scammed women and the impersonated servicemen. I also questioned Facebook and the Pentagon about what they do (and don't do) to combat the problem. And I traveled to Nigeria to talk to the scammers and understand where the cons originate.
At The Times, I cover the immense influence of large technology companies like Facebook and Apple. Iβve written about celebrity impostors on Facebook and Instagram, as well as fake Mark Zuckerbergs that scam people out of cash. I was one of the five bylines on The Timesβs monthslong investigation into Facebookβs recent crises, which helped win the Polk Award for national reporting and the Gerald Loeb Award for investigative reporting. (I also am part of the team thatβs been investigating how Boeingβs 737 Max jets ended up with a fatal flaw.) You can find all my stories here. Before joining The Times, I spent seven years at The Wall Street Journal covering technology, aviation and national news.
You can follow my reporting hunting Facebook scams in a one-hour documentary that is now available on Hulu.
UPDATE: Thank you so much for all the smart questions. This was fun. I'm signing off for now, but will try to check back later. We appreciate your readership and interest.

"I foaled."
Can someone, explain this, to me? It's mind-boggling to me.
In reference to Kanye's upcoming performance at Joel Osteens church
I could see right through it.
Hello everyone,
I want to bring to your attention a possible scam on youtube, and wanted your advice on how to proceed.
I won a phone giveaway contest on the popular tech channel PhoneRadar, in July. PhoneRadar is a pretty huge tech channel, with 924K followers on YT. I was supposed to get an Oppo R17 pro. I was really excited and messaged him my email ID. He replies to me a month later asking me to provide my address within 24 hours, or else I get disqualified, and I sent him my details.
Several months passed by. I kept emailing him once every few days asking about the status. He finally replied on 1st November saying "I will get back to you soon.". No reply since.
Eventually I started posting on his videos begging him to reply, but no response.
Today I tweeted on his handle telling him to stop ignoring giveaway winners, which really pissed him off. He says and I quote:" We don't ignore anyone. You kept spamming questioning without a reason and hence no update happened. You had won the R17 Pro & once we see that you stop the spam and remove the messages we will initiate the shipment. "
So he didnt ship the phone because I asked for the status twice or thrice a month? And he calls me a spammer for that! Its a blatant lie, and what's worse? Its going to fly because his followers will blindly support him.
Please advise what I should do next. Is there any way to bring more attention to his lie and tweets?I have provided proofs of my emails here. I have always been patient and polite to him.

My tweet which eventually forced his reply: https://twitter.com/Cri5_09/status/1202190915990781953
Note: His twitter handle is https://twitter.com/amitbhawani and he is the owner of Phoneradar.
Thanks.
Update: I got a whatsapp message from a guy claiming to be from the PhoneRadar team. He apologizes and says its not Amit's fault as a lot of people falsely claim the phone. I am really pissed off at this point. Silly excuse, but I feel bad for the guy taking the fall for this. They are now saying they will ship the phone this weekend. Told him I dont care uch about the phone now. Oh, and this reddit post made a lot of noise. Thanks r/india. He is asking me to delete my reddit posts and tweets! I s

With 86 of those 214 going to the reggae-inspired, talkbox-infused Haitian Divorce, everybody knows the thing is dead. Haitian Divorce has to be one of the most unique tracks in the entire Steely Dan discography, but for the people who voted for it last round, there was no hesitation and no remorse to get it out of here.
