A list of puns related to "The Paradigm Shift"
By 'paradigm shift' I mean a fundamentally different approach/conception of mathematics. Of course the analogy with physics is not perfect since old theories in physics are falsified but theorems in mathematics are eternal; Pythagoras' theorem remains as true today as it was thousands of years ago.
-Have immediate family support -only be around non-smokers -leave your cash and cards at home when you leave the house alone -think of yourself as a non-smoker and that it would be unheard of and make no sense to want a cigarette or any nicotine -know that you donβt smoke and find a new identity in this -declare you donβt smoke to others and to yourself- power in the tongue
Iβm into day 18. Good luck and strength all.
Honestly, if it werenβt for the Dodgers having their 2017 season marred by Houstonβs bullshit, this would be the Yankeesβ issue to complain about more than any. I think this is beyond dispute.
But what Iβm seeing is incredible. I just saw a comment describing Dustin Pedroia, in this sub, with a bunch of upvotes.
The Astros cheating horse shit is so over the top that I think I hate those fuckers worse than I do the Red Sox. I certainly hate their fans more at this point.
Honest to god, I bet Houston gets booed in the Bronx worse than Boston. They may have cheated so hard and behaved like such dicks that they are the Yankeesβ most hated adversaries. At least for a while.
I guess most of you know what I am referring to. Many people can take things like LSD and Mushrooms and remain firmly seated in whatever religious or scientific worldview they had before taking them. With DMT it's a bit harder, most people become considerable more open minded afterwards.
But in my experience you can't really take a full release dose of 5-MeO-DMT without resonating strongly with nonduality afterwards, the people I know who have also taken it seem to all agree there is a universal truth that they reconnected with through the experience, which doesn't necessarily negate, but rather transcend, scientific/materialistic notions.
Hey folks, jsat here to talk to you about what I consider to be the number 1 design flaw in Vermintide 1 and the number 1 unsolved design problem for Vermintide 2. The design flaw is called the βloot for victoryβ paradigm and it simply means that players predominantly only get extrinsic rewards (items, crafting gear and cosmetics) for successfully beating winning a mission. The design problem is βloot for progressβ and it means that players predominantly get their extrinsic reward for making progress in a mission. I feel releasing V2 without even an imperfect solution, here, will cause lasting damage to the common perception of what Vermintide is, the reception of the game and the playerbase. Let me lay out my arguments and you tell me how you feel.
Extrinsic rewards are extremely motivating; any gamer who has lost a day to a diablo grind, played βone more gameβ of COD for a whole afternoon or logged in daily on Vermintide βjust to do the contractsβ knows this. Gamers have long showed a willingness to shape their gameplay around maximizing rewards; any gamer who has looked up loot run strategies, did βgrindsβ of content they thought was boring or ran the same exploit over and over knows this (basically doing things βfor efficiencyβ). I have done all of these things. I will again. Gamers are really good at optimizing to achieve and generally we enjoy doing so. I donβt think there is anything wrong with extrinsic motivation in general, but as with any extremely powerful motivator, a game has to be designed very careful to make sure that the behaviors that are motivated are good for the long term enjoyment of the playerbase as a whole. I think we can reflect on the experience of 2 years of Vermintide 1 and safely conclude that on the whole the βloot for victoryβ paradigm motivated too much unfun and antisocial behavior to remain.
Why βLoot For Victoryβ MUST GO:
I started this journey several years ago. At that time, my husband rejected me over and over again, never initiated, and could barely finish when we did have sex. Iβm a highly sexual woman and my ego took a hit. Iβm that wife every husband dreams of...Iβll do ALL the things freely and often. I could not understand what was wrong with me, though he reassured me that βitβs me, not youβ...which is the least helpful thing when one is naked and a cock goes limp whilst sex acts are being performed.
So, I did what any middle aged woman does when her sexuality is threatened...I set off on outsourcing my sex life. I met and had sex with some charismatic and charming men that demanded little of me beyond killer sex and a text or two every once in a while. It was lovely. Until He came along.
Through everything, I have always loved my husband, and told myself I would give this life up if our sex life improved. Sometime, around six months ago, my husband realized that he had a sexy AF wife that is up for anything, almost anytime. And he started fucking me again. Sometimes twice a day. And I should be ecstatic. But it is too late.
I have fallen deeply in love with another man I cannot let go. We didnβt plan it. Our souls just...fit. The sex is beyond anything, the conversation is meaningful and complicated, and did I mention the sex? It is just otherworldly the way we fit together.
Now, when my husband wants to fuck me, I do not say no. I give him everything he asks for and more. But that is all it is. A fuck. I make love to my AP...and the difference is stark.
I ask myself if I wish Iβd never met him. This life is hard. Because we do love each other, it makes the apart times harder, the longing after missed meets more acute. But, no. I would rather have those moments of longing than never have known him or have him in my life.
The paradigm of my life has shifted yet again, and now I find myself bending the definition of love and discovering that I am capable of loving two men. Though if you ask me on a vulnerable day...all I really want is my AP.

The paradigm shift is the stupidest cog attack in all of Toontown. Now I know what you are thinking, " u/Zaid68, Paradigm shift is just a cog attack, that does damage to toon(s), there's not that much to it beyond that". However, you would be wrong on so many levels.
First off, the Paradigm Shift is a cog attack that can be used by a Spin Doctor or The Mingler, that affects all toons in a battle. This already shows why Paradigm Shift is stupid, since it is limited for use by the two most annoying cogs. Yes, that's right, the Spin Doctor and The Mingler are the most annoying cogs. All they do is hide in buildings in the Brrrgh and DDL, and their respective factories/DA Offices/Boss fights. And most of all, they always use Paradigm Shift. There is no recorded evidence of either cog using any other attack besides Paradigm Shift.
Second of all, Paradigm Shift has the worst catchphrases out of any aspect of Toontown. You may say "No one ever reads the Cogs' catchphrases, so it doesn't matter how bad they are." You may be correct, but these catchphrases are so bad you may as well just Alt F4 right there. Let's go through a list of the phrases and explain why they are so dumb, since you probably have no clue what I'm talking about.
This one kinda makes sense, since the definition of shifty from Google.com is defined as " (of a person or their manner) appearing deceitful or evasive." This correlates with how the attack is performed, with the cog wiggling its fingers at the toons while kinda leaning in an evasive position towards the toons. Overall this phrase is the most normal of all the phrases, so prepare your boots.
This one makes less sense since it uses paradigm incorrectly. First off, a paradigm is defined as "a typical example or pattern of something; a model." - Google.com An example of a paradigm is with some scientific theories or postulates/laws, such as the Earth is round, or Toontown is dying an object won't stop moving until an opposing force acts upon it. This phrase is trying to mean that the Toon(s) typical pattern/model of something is going to be shifted. However, what the attack does (smashes the toons into the floor), doesn't really shift a pattern or model of anything. The only possible theory is that the Toon(s) main p
Let's get straight to the point. To celebrate a quarter of a hundred posts, it's time to announce the biggest change to the MM since its launch back in 2019: I am dabbling into online play.
Why the sudden change of heart, I hear you ask.
Firstly, to address the elephant in the room, I'm getting tired of dealing with the scripting in PES. Yep, I said it, calling you out here KONAMI. Scripting, or "difficulty scaling" to those opposed to the word, has existed since the beginning of PES and there's no point trying to deny it. Yes, I agree that some degree of scaling must exist to keep the game challenging; my main concern is how it is applied. With the release of IMs and featured players, plus the general inflating trend of OVR ratings, it is sadly inevitable that scripting will get worse. Scripting had to get worse. How else can KONAMI make it challenging for a player with a squad of full IMs/Featured Players playing against a low/mid-tier side of the Italian league? As I'm gaining better and better players, the level of scripting, for me at least, has gone to levels bordering ridiculousness. I need a new playground where my beloved players don't perform like imbeciles all the time. I guess "be careful what you wish for" is what I'm trying to say.
Another significant contributing factor is me getting a new smartphone. (Look what I'll do for you guys! :D ) To avoid naming any brands, I've switched from a mid-tier phone released in 2016 to a high-tier phone released in 2019. (Hats off to KONAMI, the data transfer was hassle-free. Link your data guys!) The reason I've been avoiding online play is the terrible lag I experience on my old phone, even with the lowest graphical settings. The new device has so far served me well; the lag is definitely there, but is usually bearable. At least better than the "artificial lag" I experience in some Superstar COM matches.
As anyone who's been regularly creating content can confirm, it's kinda hard, to put it mildly, to keep coming up with new ideas to write about. And this is certainly not helped by the monotonous events in offline gameplay. From someone who's been playing exclusively in the same events and in campaign mode for years, things had got so worse that I ended the MM at one point. If going online is what it takes to keep the creative spark going, then I'm gonna at least give it a try.
Last but not least, there are the rewards. For a largely free-to-play player, the free coins in Matchday are to

But there was one that didn't click until last night. I had just finished eating my baked sweet potatoes bites, a huge pile of green beans, and a nice helping of teriyaki sirloin steak strips (254cal dinner)... When my husband announced from his computer that some professor from Kansas State wanted to prove CICO and ate a mixture of twinkies, oreos, and doritos. He lost 27lbs over the course of 10 weeks.
I laughed at my husband and said "that's great and all, but then I would only be able to eat like 20 Oreos a day and that's not sustainable."
I stopped and stared at the dish I was cleaning and It really took me a second to process it. I'm a full believer of CICO, but it didn't register how unfulfilling a lot of food is. Obviously I would prefer to eat my huge dinner over 2 peanut butter cups... But why eat them then? I wouldn't be able to live off of just Oreos because even though I'm consuming the same amount of calories, my body demands more
I got where I am because I was eating things that were low volume but high calories... When I should be eating a combination of medium to high volume with low to medium calories. Just like our ancestors - before processed food screwed up the paradigm.
I realize that this might seem like a really stupid realization - because duh of course healthy food is better for you.
But lets change it up. The giant panda eats 40 to 60 lbs of bamboo a day. What if we changed it and gave them something that would enable them to eat roughly about 4 to 6 lbs of food instead but still fulfills their caloric need- only we keep it available for them to consume whenever they want it.
Of course the panda will eat more. The panda is used to eating 10x more food, it doesn't realize that they are eating more calories. The panda doesnt care and keeps eating the amount it always has AND GAINS WEIGHT.
Us humans are the exact same. We went from healthy food to introducing low volume high calorie processed goods.
Thoughts on this? Did you have the same realization? What kind of realizations have you had?
The Paradigm shift and the reversion go hand-in-hand. Depriving yourself of PMO leads to a loss of a notable source of dopamine -- i.e., masturbation. It is exactly because of this that we, in our 90-day journies, begin seeking releases of dopamine in other things in life -- things such as working out, social interactions, self-improvement, and maybe even finding that special someone.
The paradigm shift is facilitated by an increases in testosterone. That testosterone gives us the energy to pursue more productive releases of dopamine. WE REGAIN OUR MASCULINE ESSENCE, THAT DRIVE, WHILE ON NOFAP. This is extremely important; without this masculine essence, we cannot have a paradigm shift, we cannot improve ourselves -- without it we cannot progress. Without that essence we simply remain stagnant.
Stagnation in life is one of the most frightful things to me -- for living a life of social, mental, physical, and spiritual stagnation would be to live a life of regret
Stay strong, brothers.
I cannot say I every saw myself as bigoted or sexist. About a 3rd of my cast of players has always been girls, and I don't really have preconceptions about people until I work with them or live next door to them. But listening to Matt talk about inclusion in gaming really struck something in me. While I had never tried to be noninclusive in my games I did pretty much run a cast of white male races in all of the key positions. Because that's what I am, and it's what I know. (To be fair I was afraid it would be racist to NPC a black character as a white guy. I don't know why but I did.) For the campaign I am currently creating I literally rolled for skin color and sex of all of my initial NPCs after setting their position in the world and I don't see it changing my story one bit. I have a lot more female NPCs and broad spectrum of skin colors to be sure, but my story will come across the same and it may just make one of my players a little more comfortable in my world which is why we do this thing. So...thank you for telling me something in a different way that made me hear it Matt. I don't often see the light and rarely admit when I do, but I think this was an important one for me. I will always disagree with you on the value of 4th edition, but listening you talk about gaming has really brought back some of my passion for the game. Once again thank you :)
The quote in the question is a paraphrase of the physicist Max Planck's statement:
> Eine neue wissenschaftliche Wahrheit pflegt sich nicht in der Weise durchzusetzen, daΓ ihre Gegner ΓΌberzeugt werden und sich als belehrt erklΓ€ren, sondern vielmehr dadurch, daΓ ihre Gegner allmΓ€hlich aussterben und daΓ die heranwachsende Generation von vornherein mit der Wahrheit vertraut gemacht ist.
> A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.
Was he right, with regards to major paradigm shifts in the mid 19th to late 20th centuries? I'm specifically thinking about Planck's own field of theoretical physics, as well evolutionary biology (Darwinian evolution vs. competing models, the Recent African Origin model of human evolution, the abandonment of hereditary telegony, etc.), anthropology, and linguistics (UG vs competing models). Did modern accepted theories "win over" scientists from competing models, or did the old models' advocates just die?
I'm also concerned solely with the transmission and acceptance of scientific models among scientists themselves, not popular culture responses to scientific theories.
Thank you!
Korn is so fucking amazing at showing just what someone is thinking about at their times alone and in need. Along with every other album if course, I'm on paradigm shift right now. This one and Untitled are the most amazing to me to put on repeat. And when your high as fuck!!!!! Like I am now, this is the Korn I've loved! !!!!!!! Figure it out dudes!!
When criticisms of 'anti-SJWs' were brought up, they used to be more along the lines of "Don't worry about the crazy people, it'll just sour you to be angry over those without much influence." But in recent years, it seems to be more "How dare those alt-right idiots be against treating people with respect?"
Is this only my own perception as the circles I frequent have shifted? Or was the first statement wrong, and they actually were worth worrying about because now they've influenced the public? Could it be both? Is the latter statement correct, and one just needs to accept that times are changing?
Read the first 4 paragraphs... then after reading the first sentence in the 5th, you will find yourself in a paradigm shift, .. ya in the past you might have joked it's all rigged, caught yourself saying the rich get richer and poor get poorer; even though the thread of your American born ideal that, "anyone can prosper if they work hard," kept you from actually truly believing the rigged conjecture thrown around... well guess what, start believing it, otherwise, start believing the biggest most powerful and wealthy "people"(thanks citizens united) in our economy lucked out...
I'm sure I'm wasting these thoughts at Wendy's, or I'm 20 days late on realizing this, but some of you autists may appreciate it..
Tldr; sell calls and buy puts to 245, wait for a day or two.. then bull gang hard
We can't encourage people to walk away, and not meet them half way with open arms and a plan.
All are Steam keys unless otherwise specified. Minimum transaction of $2 (so if you want something that's less than $2, select multiple games until you get to at least $2). Payments are via PayPal F&F or you must add fees to the price to offset the payment.
Note: There's a few games marked "may keep", I'm basically undecided due to a big backlog ATM, so a part of me wants to sell them and another wants to keep them. Forgive the lack of commitment at this time.
Happy to discuss bundle discounts.

2 years ago the goto description for RC was: "minecraft + world of tanks", now it's more of "minecraft + fps".
For example TTK went from 20 seconds of DPS from the whole team, to 5 seconds from a single bot. And the health mechanic went from not only being unable to heal in the match, but also having to pay for the repairs, to a full health in 20 seconds card.
And rewards switching from a flat amount of RP to the - oh so controversial - crates.
Let me begin by stating that I did not play very much classic World of Warcraft. I dabbled, but at the time I was young, and switching between playing Everquest 2 and Star Wars Galaxies (R.I.P). My first introduction to MMORPGs was, in fact, SWG at a tender young age. I say all this to make the point that I am not simply here to revel in nostalgia regarding WoW classes or zones or dungeons.
When I first played MMORPGs in 2003 with SWG, the game was a wide open sandbox. It had clunky combat, strange mechanics, and was punishing. However, it was a vast galaxy, with multiple huge planets and a plethora of things to do. Invariably most of things could not be done alone. They required you to work with other people, even if it was as simple as buying your gear from another player, who had bought the resources needed to make it from yet another player. The world was large, and players were by design interconnected.
Next I dabbled in Everquest 2. When it launched it was the main rival for WoW. Both were developed in the same period, and released mere weeks apart. Suffice to say I enjoyed Everquest 2, and looking back it did many things right, including immersive class selection where you first chose an archtype at level 1/2, a sub class at 10, and your specialization at 20. Whether you liked this or not was a personal matter. One thing that struck me about Everquest 2, again, was the need to group with other people to complete content, especially past a certain level (20 or so).
The point of this post is not to say that either of these games are superior to World of Warcraft. They were merely different and appealed to a different audience. My point is that MMORPGS in the early 2000s focused on world building and community, player interaction. WHile both SWG and EQ2 had flaws (so, so many flaws...), in particular the terrible design decision for EQ2 to focus on graphical fidelity and the belief that future processors would continue to be single core, they were focused on fostering player interaction and building an interesting world.
World of Warcraft at the time of its release also followed this same model. The seamless world of Azeroth was a wonder to behold. Players had to group together for group quests and dungeons while leveling. There was some sort of player economy. Were any of these things to the extent they were in the aforementioned games? No. They were there though. The game was still designed with that in mind.
As we all know MMORPG design
