A list of puns related to "The Mortuary Collection"
Hated working with a bunch of stiffs.
The coroner calls the police to tell them what has happened. βFirst body: Frenchman, 60, died of heart failure while making love to his mistress. Hence the enormous smile, Inspectorβ, says the Coroner.
βSecond body: Scotsman, 25, won a thousand pounds on the lottery, spent it all on whisky. Died of alcohol poisoning, hence the smile.β
The Inspector asked, βWhat of the third body?β βAh,β says the coroner, βthis is the most unusual one. Billy-Bob the redneck from Oklahoma, 30, struck by lightning.β βWhy is he smiling then?β inquires the Inspector. βThought he was having his picture taken.
How long is the program with Wayne State University? I was told a year if you go full time. And two if you go part-time I'm planning to do the pre-mortuary science degree at Wayne Community and then transfer over to the University. The program at Wayne community also has classes that would satisfy the prerequisites for the General ed classes at Wayne State.
Unfortunately my state has no accredited school programs, but I'm not really in the position to move out of state temporarily for school. I'm considering distance learning at a school with an MS degree about four hours away. I understand I will have to come out to campus for some labs but it's much more doable than moving. My question is is it more difficult than sitting in the classroom taking notes? I've taken online courses before and did okay in some but not so great in topics that I wasn't really interested in.
When Elves die, the bodies they leave behind do not decay as the younger racesβ do. Their physical form can remain for many hundreds of years, almost as long as they lived. For this reason, Elven society has developed intricate and strange ceremonies in order to venerate and respect their dead. This has given rise to the closest Elven society has to a priest class β named JiongaβSil or Mortuary Cult.
Members of the Mortuary Cult typically join at a young age, wishing to devote their lives to honouring their ancestors and loved ones. Some join out of desperation, having no other options knowing the Cult will look after them until they themselves die. Some join out of a morbid fascination for the afterlife. Whatever their reasons, not much is known about how an initiate is trained in their duties. Part of the process involves taking a vow of silence, starting from the beginning of their training. They wear a ceremonial βgagβ consisting of a black silken cloth which they wrap across their mouths. Initiates are given plain white robes whilst they undergo their training, similar to the gowns they will eventually dress the deceased in. This is, in part, symbolic of the journey they also go through in joining the Cult. Once their training is complete, they will be given a ceremonial black mantle, adorned with religious iconography, including the Symbol of BianβHou, the Elven deity of Endings and Beginnings.
Cult members will spend the vast majority of their lives in specially built Catacombs built to house the deceased. These vast underground structures are a maze of corridors, with walls lined with βshelvesβ, where the dead rest, surrounding a central chamber where bodies are prepared for entombment. There is no hierarchy in where bodies are placed when they are interred, as it is believed that things like titles and wealth are purely the trappings of the living. They are forgotten once you pass and your spirit returns to nature, to start the journey once again. Daily duties will include predominately of cleaning and keeping the tombs as spotless as possible, in order to preserve dead. They will keep silent vigil and ensure that no intruders disturb their wards.
There is only one occasion when the members of a tomb will leave, and that is to collect a new body. So strong is their connection with necromantic energies, members are able to sense when someone in their community is near death. They will gather near the house of the soon-to-be-d
