A list of puns related to "The LincolnβDouglas Debates (1994 reenactments)"
I am considering using Marksism for this next debate as a criterion. I did however, seriously consider using nihilism but decided not to. It would be interesting to see other philosophies that someone could use.
I understand that theyβre broad, overused and that theyβre likely to be your opponents values but does that make them any less of a value? Does it harm my argument in some way? I thought that they made it easier to avoid having contentions that donβt align with my value but Iβm getting mixed responses. Can your opponent use a broad value against you?
The 2021 March/April Lincoln-Douglas debate topic is, Resolved: The United States ought to guarantee universal child care. I'm having problems with both AFF and NEG I am unable to find a definition for Universal childcare.

Hi y'all!
Similar to our NCFL workshop, Triumph Debate is hosting a 1-day workshop to prepare Lincoln Douglas Debate students for the NSDA National Tournament. The workshop will be held virtually on May 23rd, 2021 from 3-9 ET / 12-6 PT. You can sign up here: https://triumphdebate.com/nsda-workshop/
Our staff features multiple NCFL & NSDA finalist coaches, including last year's NSDA Champion Jo Spurgeon and her coach Ian Mikkelsen. We will be doing a bunch of lectures, including a very in-depth topic analysis and several election options. Students can also sign up for a 30-minute one-on-one session with one of our coaches for direct assistance.
Like with previous workshops, to help compensate our fantastic coaches for their time and effort, we are asking for a $15.00 registration fee. However, if this is in any way an issue for you, please reach out to us and we will send you a fee waiver. We want this workshop to be accessible to any student or coach who would like to attend.
Feel free to ask any questions. We hope to see some of y'all there!
In 1858, US senators were elected by the state legislatures; it was not until 1913 that senators were elected by the popular vote. So why then did Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas hold their famous series of debates? Were the debates for the benefit of the state legislators? Did senators still feel a need to appeal to the citizens of their states even though they were not directly elected by them?
Hello everyone!
