A list of puns related to "The Last Poets (album)"
Ahmad ibn Hassan al Hajji was the former court poet of the father of Imam Yunus, known primarily for his Arabic poetry. He was also an avid supporter of the house of abbas, and when they were overthrown in 2622, he originally quietly opposed them but as the years went on he did so more and more publicly and he became less and less subtle. He was eventually arrested by Carmine police for reciting poetry against the ruling King William, calling him a murderer and a upstart usurper, he was tried for treason and sentenced to die by hanging in a secret trial. He was 74 years old at the time, in the year 2645 His final work was smuggled out by a sympathetic imamite jailer who offered to free him. But Ahmad refused knowing that if he were to accept the jailer and his family would be killed He said "Just as Musa put his faith in Allah to part the sea, I put my faith in Allah to see me through into the hereafter" he placed the scroll into the jailers hands "I have lived a long life, almost three quarters of a century they are only cutting my life short by a year or two at most." He paused. "Give this to my grandson Hisham, my home has a weeping willow in the courtyard, a few paces from the mosque, tell my wife and daughters that I love them, and my grandson that I am proud of him. The jailer wept as he left, the fall of the Abbas kingdom was a tragedy but to lose such a scholar felt almost as painful. He arrived at the Al-Hajji residence and was met by a kindly old woman who looked just as old as Ahmad she recognized who he was by his uniform and her smile slowly vanished, he couldn't meet her gaze, "what will be of him?" She asked him in a soft voice, he looked down and almost began weeping again, she knew from his silence. He spoke voice trembling "He asked me to bring your grandson this" he handed the scroll to the old woman" and to give you a final message "That he loves you and his daughters, and that he is proud of the man his grandson has become". He left, and the old woman, Fatima went into her home sat and wept, being her grandson Hisham came running "Sitti! What is wrong? What is troubling you? Is it about grandfather, is there any news? In between her sobs "He is with your father in Jannah" she handed him the parchment, as his aunt's came in to console his grandmother, he opened it and read it.
"Oh beloved, oh Muhammad Blessings be upon Muhammad And the family of Muhammad
Oh Lord send your blessings upon him And increase our love for him Raise us amon

I didn't go to church today, I trust the Lord to understand. The surf was swirling blue and white, The children swirling on the sand. He knows, He knows how brief my stay, How brief this spell of summer weather, He knows when I am said and done We'll have plenty of time together

I was set up outside Bethlehem House Gallery on Main St. all week writing buku poems, you may have met me. Had such a good time there, I'm planning on coming back, but I need a couch to crash on. Will of course trade poems/chapbooks/the usual dishes etc for the privilege. Anyone interested? This is me, midway through giving my spare typewriter to this lovely little munchkin named Kataleen. Let me know! Would love to be back in Lehigh Valley.

Hey all,
Since we just moved on from the 2010s I thought I would share some of my favorite albums from bands that aren't talked about a ton on this sub, that are some of my absolute favorite albums ever... of any genre, and no criteria.
These won't be in any particular order, but all of them I couldn't recommend enough. So without further rambling:
###Seven Impale - Contrapasso (2016)
If you like unique-jazz-fusion with tons of brass and a nice Zappa element throughout. Check out this album. If that doesn't sound like your thing, check it out anyways, because this album is incredible. This band is entirely too slept on. They are absolute units and sound like studio jazz musicians that decided they wanted to dive deep into the prog scene.
###Vulkan - Mask of Air (2011)
Another stellar album. If you like bands like The Mars Volta, Closure in Moscow, and Karnivool... you MUST check this album out. First discovered this album because it was near the top of the "Top Little Known but Highly Rated Albums" on progarchives for the decade. This album blew me away, start to finish. Also, another plus is Vulkan has another concept album about to release in the next month or so.
###The Mercury Tree - Permutations (2016)
It always surprises me how slept on this band is. This has to be one of the most innovative prog bands out right now, and there are a lot of innovative bands these days. Permutations is one of the proggiest albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. The best way to describe it is if you combined Steven Wilson, Radiohead, Kayo Dot, and Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum with an extremely tight math rock band. This was the album I chose as my album of the decade after much wavering. It's phenomenal.... Truly phenomenal.
###Artificial Silence - Negative Space (2018)
I made a post a while back about discovering this band, and it ended up blowing up. This is another one of my absolute favorite (I'm saying that a lot) albums ever. I made the comparison that Artificial Silence is like a mix of Moon Safari and Native Construct and I'll stick by that, but the more I listen to the album the more I also get a Reign of Kindo vibe as well.
###Dizzy Mystics - Wanderlost (2019)
This is the newest album on the list, and is another absolutely awesome album. They have a sound that I'd describe as a combination of The Grateful Dead, Closure in Moscow, Incubus, Jethro Tull, and math rock. This album just bounces all the way through. There ar

I know it sounds pathetic, I don't want to associate an album as dancey and upbeat as this with the misery I'm feeling right now. I want it to remind me of a happy time like when I first heard Currents a few Summers ago. I want the same feeling from The Slow Rush, if I listen to it now it'll always be associated with the mess I'm in right now.
...and thank god it was. Here are the results from my investigation:
So, we were all like what the hell was Taylor doing in Jackβs studio in June? The album was done in February? jackβs ig post
Couldnβt really pinpoint it. We had theories but nothing concrete.
However, if you look at the release date of Someone Great: wikipedia of someone great. It wasnβt released until mid-April. And the album, per her words, was complete in February with the Palm Tree post.
On the Ellen Show, in June, she said for βFavorite Movieβ she couldnβt answer unless it was a movie she had seen in the last week. And so she said Someone Great.
Thus, Death of a Thousand Cuts couldnβt have been in the process til at least April 19, 2019. But my guess is that it was actually written and produced in June. And probably the last song to make the album (thank god - the bridge)
I do this every time Tech N9ne releases a new album. The last 2 weeks leading up to the new release I go back and listen to all his albums (including collabos) in order. I've been doing this since probably Special Effects.
Anyways, I guess I've been taking a different approach this time around and trying to listen less as a long time fan and more as a fan who understands his backstory, growth, development as a person and artist over time. It's always been apparent each album has a different sound than the last but this time through I'm also trying to picture the headspace he is in and the time frame the album came out as well. I got into tech n9ne when I was about 14-15 years old (KOD release) so I try to picture my 15 year old self hearing him for the first time with each of these albums this time through.
Anghellic (2001)
It's a really solid album and includes some of my all time favorite tracks like Einstein and It's Alive and FTI. I put it in the horrorcore category for sure, it's dark and it's gritty and outside of KOD I think this is tech at his worst (as in his mental state). It's a sad album for sure; especially "Real Killer" a track I usually skip but sat through it again for the sake of listening from start to finish. If this was the first tech album I heard idk if I would listen to him anymore. Now I'd save a handful of a songs to my computer and Im not saying its a bad album. But I started listening to Tech when KOD came out and it was a little too dark for me, I was a HUGE Krizz Kaliko fan - but as I got a bit older KOD really connected with me and this obviously has too. It has a very underground hardcore sound to it which is okay, not my personal preference, although I really enjoy Dementia from King Iso. Again, Anghellic just doesn't connect for me.
Absolute Power (2002)
Often regarded as a favorite among old heads in the strange music community. I like this album a lot also but it still doesn't make my top 5. Right? I listened and every track reminded me of how great this album actually is! Industry is Punks, Here Comes Tecca Nina, Slacker, Ima Tell, Keep on Keepin on. Damn this bangs. What was I thinking not a top 5 this is dope. This Tech N9ne guy is hype.
But after Gunz Will Busts he loses me a bit. It's all good - its not bad, but nothing I would add to my favorites list. T9x, Absolute Power and Ima Playa however make finishing the album totally worth it. Absolute Power would def get my attentio
