Edit: I have been informed that Shanghai is actually in 4, the phrasing is just wonky. My bad guys, I've let you down.
Second edit: Actually I'm safe on a technicality, because the intro of Shangai alternates four measures of 4/4 and one measure of 3/4. Vindicated!
For me itβs βfather hold me close, DONβT LET ME DOWNβ and itβs not even close
I'll start, Good Night
I tell you it don't matter, even if you put peanut butter on the bread too, you just can't make a decent sandwich with it. Got no taste.
I told her, "Woman, don't buy that KY jelly anymore!"
Personally I don't think so because it pretty much set in stone that top 3 Eminem album's are SSLP, MMLP, TES whether we are speaking critically or be it fan favourites but i still want to know you guys's opinion.
I donβt want to pretend like they are decent bands. I respect that they helped usher in newer and better bands, but they themselves are not great.
When I think of bands like Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot (f the haters), August Burns Red, Gojira, White Chapel etc. their instrumentals are better and more complex, their lyrical content is better, they just feel better. They demand a response.
The old bands sound so harsh (in a bad way) and we should stop pretending like they are good.
I think Kanye
I'm hoping that 2022 is going to be the year we can officialize 4RACHA as a thing, because Hyunjin has officially joined the lineup as writer and composer!
#LoveStay is a ballad written by Hyunjin, Felix, and I.N and is the second Stray Kids song to not have a 3RACHA credit on the lyrics, and the first OT8 one. It's this out-of-nowhere surprise drop that decided to rip my heart out for no goddamn reason; a fan-dedicated song about mutual love and support. It's written very similarly to Hyunjin's Little Star that he released for SKZ-Player last year, and it seems to be the fruits of Felix and I.N's constant labor as well. The former was practicing his lyricism on Kingdom (adjusting his own raps and such), and I.N is in the practice rooms nearly every damn day, so it's only logical that at some point he'd start writing his own material. And of course, we've known Hyunjin to be learning how to write and produce for a while now, with a surprising amount of songs under his belt that are unfortunately locked away on Chan's Laptop.
It's far from the first time they've participated in OT8 tracks, after all they all have credits for their verses on their remade 3RACHA songs. However I think this is the first time that a Stray Kids song, sung by all members, has not had a 3RACHA credit on the lyrics. Which feels so strange, but so right? Same with Felix singing the chorus. Confidently! We got little snippets of his vocals in 24 to 25 and SSICK but now he's starting to blossom. It's crazy, looking at Hyunjin and Felix sometimes, because their vocal growth happens so rapidly. One minute they're announcing they want to improve and the next they've got long verses to showcase their newly-developed style.
I'm so proud of I.N, too. I'm actually surprised he doesn't share a composition credit with Hyunjin because this is so up his alley. I can feel his influence distinctly in the lyrics, though. Hyunjin waxes poetic about everything, and Felix likes to use pretty and distinct language, but I.N tends to be more plain-spoken. He balances them out well. While I'm sure Hyunjin and Felix could write a song without being too flowery, especially with Hyunjin's experience, I like how they recreate 3RACHA's balanced dynamic in themselves.
It's a lovely song. If the video didn't start with the lyric credits, I wouldn't bat an eyelash and would just assume it was self-written by Chan. I'm not generally

This is in between the game and the discussion, but I'll flair it "games". Mod feel free to change it.
I thought it will be fun to confront the opinion of non-Kpop fans (since the users of those website aren't necessarily Kpop fans) to fandoms' opinion on Kpop artists discographies. How will the opinions will be different?
I therefor compiled data on the Top 1000 of the best Kpop Single, EP and Album according to rateyourmusic.com. I picked the highest ranked single and / or EP and / or album (depending whether the artist had more than one in this category and if it was in the TOP 1000). I have a Exel with 199 artists based on this website!
I tried to also collect data on albumoftheyear.com, but they don't have a list similar to RYM so I'll just search for the artist.
This is how we can process:
1 - Comment an artist which falls under the K-pop umbrella. Don't hesitate to try underrated / retirred artists, rateyoumusic.com most probably love them! (edit: if they are women - they are super gg biaised)
2 - I'll give you the best of their discography (i.e. the highest ranked single, EP and album in the rateyoumusic.com top and the best score on albumoftheyear.com) according to those website. The rank on rateyourmusic.com is based on the number and score of the users review, the score on albumoftheyear.com will be the average between the critic and the users scores. If I don't give you one of the categories (single, EP or album), it means that, for those website, the artist doesn't have / have only one of these categories.
3 - Don't hesitate to compare the answer to your personal and to fans' usual favorite! It will be a nice way for non-fans to discovers new discographies!
Please don't let this flop, I spend way to much time doing a table based on RYM.
Edit: a little clarification on what I am doing.
For AOTY: I exclude the best ranked songs, when it's based on only one or two review. It's arbitrary and I know it, but I don't have time to weight the results of the average ratings.
For RYM: when the artists didn't make it in the TOP 1000, I give the user rating, based on the number of review and the score in itself.
