LPT: Brush your dog or cat outdoors in the winter so the fur you brush off them blows away in the wind. Squirrels and birds will find it and line their nests with it.

Or, in freezing weather, brush indoors but save the fur that comes off your pet in a bag and dump it in a wooded area.

Edit: Another thing I do (wildlife lover that I am) is throw berries and cherries in the woods if they get too dried out to eat. I'll walk my dogs with a baggie of past-their-prime cherries in my pocket and scatter a few every 25 meters or so. I love imagining the delight of a squirrel or chipmunk coming upon (what is for them) a luscious treat.

Just got the ACB spec bird nest in a quiet Coffee Shop. AMA! (Except verbally because now I’m deaf)

Had my headphones turned up high so I could listen to a lecture with poor audio quality. Subsequently I turned up my in game sounds so I could hear when trees deplete and bird’s nest drops. I have the video playing on the left side of the screen and a word document on the right as my Hardcore btw chops away in the background. Moments later... SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I jump and my headphones fly off my head while I’m trying to keep my laptop from falling off my lap. My head is absolutely ringing, feeling like someone bounced a Ruby Bolt (e) off my brain. I’m pumping at least 180BPM. I scramble to click back to my account, expecting to see my HC dying to, I don’t know, a fucking hawk or sorts?

> A bird’s nest falls out of the tree

Everyone in the coffee shop looks at me wondering if I’m okay. Good one Jagex

Pigeon fledgling - It's 43Β°c (109Β°F) out today. This little pidgeon left the nest today but I haven't seen him fly, he's just walking. There is a second chick still in the nest. What should I do? I put out a shallow bowl of water (there is a bird bath but I'm concerned he can't reach it). [Pic]

(Apologies for the typo)

Species: pigeon

Age: fledgling (?)

Sex/neuter status: no

Breed: wild

Body weight: unknown

History: unknown

Clinical signs: appears to have wing feathers and tail feathers, fluffy on chest. Beak open a lot (I see birds do this in the heat?), doesn't seem to be flying and is walking in the shade

Duration: unknown

General location: Australia

The pigeon on the ground

Pigeons in the nest this morning

I am very experienced with cats and dogs but completely ignorant about birds. Is he going to be ok? Is he too small - should I return him to the nest?

Update: After a few hours the little guy managed to fly up onto the bins and then eventually over the fence and into the neighbour's garden. The mama bird came to feed the remaining chick in the nest and I saw her with the fledgling in the neighbour's garden shortly after. I think the little guy will be alright! Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I've been watching these gorgeous birds grow and was so worried about them in this horrible heat
