A list of puns related to "The Battle of the Bands"
I'd prefer if it ended like how Flair interrupted Fozzy back in the day, a crazy bloodied old man tearing down the set

Bayside has removed the ability to view the vote results. I think theyβre doing it to make it so that everyone feels like the pressure is on for them and will push for more genuine votes, not to say thatβs a bad thing.
I think that if they wouldβve required a YouTube video (just like a static image or a lyric video) it wouldβve faired a bit better. You can still get bots to watch your video, but itβs harder because you have to watch the video for X amount of seconds before it counts as a view. Any other thoughts of how this couldβve been done better? It feels like a debacle at this point.
Edit: I hope Bayside reads this. This whole contest is a huge fucking joke and is putting a bad taste in everyoneβs mouth. Iβve read more than a few comments across social media of people saying theyβre done with Bayside, which sucks because theyβre such a good band.
First of all if you are part of Steveos One shots: GTFO. You may not read further, I'm workshopping out next big thing so SHOO, no spoilers.
Hey DM's. I recently put my DM hat back on by running one shots. I can't commit to running a long term campaign, but every once in a while i want to run a session for forever dm's and friends. So here i am, inspired to build my own one shot from a silly idea i had while running tomb of annihilation a year or so back.
The premise: The Adventurers come across a Rock n Roll Necromancer deep in the jungle as her performers a ritual to raise an army of undead minions. He is on a stage basically blasting out death metal on a magic guitar with a band of ghosts and banshees backing him up, and the longer he plays the more undead monstrosities rise from the surrounding area. Fun little encounter where they can let loose to smash on some undead goons and disrupt the ritual by destroying the bands sound equipment.
Then i thought. wait, what if i turn this into a full on boss battle? Instead of chasing off the band and wrecking their gear they fight it out with the necromancer.
What if they were fighting because they were taking part in a Battle of the Bands...
Things blew up in my head from there. So here is my rough outline for the one shot, which will likely be a 3ish four hour sessions series.
All players are bard or have several levels in bard if they multiclass, this is for fun and flavor.
Start at level 10 with starting gear, 2000 gp, (2 uncommon magic items OR 1 rare magic item). They can spend gp on other magic items. Standard point buy.
The plan is for there to be three encounters total. Each encounter is a battle against an opposing band.
First is the music section of the battle, this is a series of skill checks that will be modified by player creativity. If they want to use major image to create a Giant Chimera to hop on stage and rock out with the band, thats a big boost to audience satisfaction. etc. I've established with my group its ok to get weird, wacky and creative with stuff in previous sessions, so i want to be able to have that behavior pay off here.
Help : I want to build a small system for this. Rather than just rolling performance vs performance and adding a few modifiers i would like to have it be a bit more interesting. I was thinking maybe having a couple of goals. One is audience satisfaction and the other is Morale of the opposing band. Make your audience happy and destroy the

Now hear me out.
Instead of a thieves guild, just a west side story style gang of bards that shake people down and live in the cemetary like the Romani people from Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Maybe even still do theives guild type things, they're just more over the top about it.
Good luck making it out of there with any self esteem.
-snap snap- Thoughts?
Does anybody know if there are any battles of the bands that happen on campus ever? There's plenty of coffee houses but that never seems like a good environment for a band playing heavy music... EDIT: spelling
Wondering if anyone knows.
Basically, my friend roped me into his band for Battle of the Bands, as the vocalist, because apparently I'm the only one "who is balls-y enough to do it", but I'm worried I'll sound like shit. My friend is telling me I don't, but I've heard him sing and he's dogshite. So, right now I'm just worrying.
