A list of puns related to "The Bad News Bears (TV series)"
Right now rumor has it that Rey and Kylo Ren team up after a new foe from unexplored space emerges.
If this turns out to be true it has to be one of the hack-iest bits of forced drama introduced to these movies. Now that Snoke has been defeated they have to introduce some new unplanned third bad guy, much like the sound-guy in the last season of the Office that made Pam and Jims relationship fall apart. This doesn't feel like coherent storytelling, if this is what they go with there should have been SOME foreshadowing about it. Many people are pointing to the comics and novels as evidence for making references to a power beyond their own galaxy. But expanded universe materials should NOT have to set up the final chapter in a 9 movie 40 year event!!!
Its really sad this is the state of Star Wars now. Shame on Lucasfilm.
Iβm not sure if IMDb users are giving it poor ratings because it is objectively bad (in which case I wonβt watch it) or because it strays too far from the source material (which I donβt care about/ have never read)
Thanks
It had so much potential. Great actors, well shot, but the editing and story telling missed so much. Granted itβs a Goliath of a story to put to film, but why not make it over a couple seasons instead of cramming it into what, 9 haphazard episodes?
Some of the acting was great. Loved the portrayals of Harold, Tom Cullen, Glenn and Lloyd Henry. Mother A., Stu, Nadine, Flagg, not so much.
Who thought it was a good idea to chop up the chronology, eliminating all tension of the individual journeys to Boulder/Vegas? Everyoneβs backstory is completely neglected.
Then, after leaving the vast majority of the story on the cutting room floor you add in the useless last episode? Why not flush out Tom and Stuβs journey back? WTF?
Can somebody recut this chronologically at least?
I've been putting off watching Stranger Things for almost a year now because I don't want to get tempted into collecting the line. Anyone else in the same boat?
[Full Quote] Coach Michael Malone on potentially upsetting the Clippers in Game 7:
>I almost feel like weβre The Bad News Bears and Iβm Coach Buttermaker, weβre a team that nobody really looks at and takes us seriously. And our guys, I think, have taken that personally.
>
>But we donβt believe (that label). We donβt believe thatβs what we are. We feel that weβre just as good as anybody. We feel like weβre an NBA championship-caliber team.
>
>Everybody counted us out in the Utah series. Everyoneβs counted us out going into this (Clippers) series. I think on ESPN, they had polled 19 of their βexpertsβ and most had us losing in four games or five games, a few in six. And not one person picked us to get to Game 7 or win the series. And I understand that. But I think itβs something that weβve embraced. Weβve enjoyed playing the role of a spoiler.

>This is, hey, itβs all about the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat, the Lakers. And everybody canβt wait for the (All-) Los Angeles Western Conference finals. But thereβs a little city in Colorado called Denver. And you know, weβre trying to do our part to make some noise and kind of further cement our position in the Western Conference and the NBA hierarchy. Because we feel we belong there.
I saw a trailer for it a couple days ago, and now I want to remember what it was called.
I don't remember if he got out of prison or was never convicted, the guy agrees to help the police bring down a huge crime organization.
But only on his own terms. He will only work with a rookie cop that just graduated school. I think the cop is blonde, but I'm not completely sure on that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a little older tv (donβt know the resolution right now) and itβs just kinda meh for graphics like itβs good enough and it doesnβt look bad just not amazing, so with the Series X should they look like still that same quality since the game is so demanding? (I donβt know a lot about graphics and this kinda stuff so if itβs a dumb sorry)
This mainly goes for season 2. Things like Patty explaining how food is a constant nagging, thinking so much about weight that you end up just eating, showing that people still have a personality/goals outside of a disorder, etc.
Also THE OA GROUP!!! One of my favourite scenes. It was so normal and grounded, I was shocked it even made it into the epsiode. I loved the way everyone could laugh at each other and talk freely + how diverse the group was
I mean, the perfect play on emotions. The tension, the beautiful message. And oh, how pretty and subtle was "You kept the shirt I gave you?" :3
Please tell me without spoilers, are there more episodes of this caliber to come?
I thought that since Stephen King wrote and produced it and since it was shot at The Stanley Hotel, I would give it a chance. Plus, I love Steven Weber because of Wings and iZombie.
Let me start positively. There are things the mini-series did better, for instance:
Jack was actually likeable at the start and he seemed to care about his family. In the movie, he seems like he canβt stand them from the start. Plus, Jack Nicholson has those crazy intense eyes which makes him scary from the get go, while Steven Weber just looks like a nice guy.
Rebecca De Mornayβs Wendy was also much more likeable and felt like she was an equal to Jack. Wendy from the movie seemed like she just really needed a Xanax prescription and she was just too twitchy.
Mini-series Jack seeing the bathtub ghost and going (not literally), βfuck that, Iβm out!β and hoofing it was hilarious. And more realistic. Itβs exactly how I would react. Yeah in the movie, he sees the hot naked woman first and itβs alluring, but even then, would you not be like, βwho is she? How did she get in? Why is she here? Who else is here with her? Do I have a condom?β But Jack is crazy and horny, so this makes sense.
Now for the negative. Because the things that are worse, is so, so much worse:
The acting. Jesus Christ! Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors of all time and his performance in the movie is iconic and it wouldβve been hard for anyone to even come close to that. But, in the series, itβs like Steven Weber decided to just full on ham it up. He does the nice, likeable version just fine. But he could not pull off being a guy who lost his mind and is deranged. Also, weβve been spoiled by fantastic kid actors, like all the ones from The Haunting series. The kid in this was not that, to put it nicely.
The make-up. Itβs just, it looked like something from the earliest episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Jack didnβt look like he was bleeding. It looked like red water and later on, dry paint. The bathtub lady was scary though. And I liked it more than the old lady from the movie, which just made me feel yucky.
The Stanley Hotel doesnβt really look scary. It just looks like an old hotel. The movie made the hotel feel big. And the idea of 3 people being stuck there, snowed in, far away from anyone else, surrounded by ghosts, is chill inducing.
The CGI and effects. They had a TV budget and it was a different time, but it does not hold up at all. It looks dated, even compared
... keep reading on reddit β‘At least from my understanding. Was it implied that Max and CC would continue their business at California for other projects as well?
Rebooting movies is a thing now and I expect they will start rebooting series and shows lile friends, senfield, dexter, got etc.. so basically the title. What are your expectations?
Iβve seen a lot of posts comparing the movie and the showβs bear fight recently!
For those who havenβt seen the movie (or those who havenβt seen it in a long time), a clip of the scene can be viewed on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/MTjs5eo4BfI (As a note, the movie changed Iofurβs name.)
What do you think?
