A list of puns related to "The Avett Brothers discography"
How was the experience? How did the context of having heard everything in order effect each album? General experience?
I put together a compilation of all Avett Brothers songs with guitar chords and lyrics for my own personal use. I figured some other people might find it helpful. It's ~1MB and 191 pages. First page is a crappy quality guitar chords graph.
Enjoy!

I'm learning Spanish and keep seeing suggestions to listen to music in the language you want to learn. The problem is that so far the music I've found has been kinda meh to me musically.
Does anyone know of a band similar to TAB that sings in Spanish?
Edit: If anyone is curious here is the playlist I've been building off suggestions here and found on Google. As of this writing I haven't actually listened to it yet, so some things may be wildly unAvett like

Most of their songs are about regrets and heartache but have a few traditional love songs. It's not their best but I've been on a "Better Here" kick for a few weeks now. It has that classic tragic Avett magic but ultimately I hear it as a hopeful love song.
What about y'all?

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2021 Avett Brothers Song Bracket.
Today is our final round of a seeded bracket based on the top 16 Scott songs and top 16 Seth songs from this subreddit's rankings. I'll share the final results and summary on Friday, along with the winners of everyone who submitted a bracket at the beginning of this whole experiment.
--------
Yesterday in the Scott semifinal match-up, 2008's "Murder in the City" took on 2009's "Laundry Room". It was back-and-forth for the first twelve hours but "Murder in the City" pulled ever-so-slightly ahead and "Laundry Room" could never make up the ground. It was our highest-voted poll in this entire event, with 469 votes cast, and MitC winning by only 13 votes.
Technically it's an upset, but barely so. It's the overall #5 seed (with score of 9.69/10) overtaking overall #2 seed (9.86/10). And while this tournament has seen a lot of the high energy songs overperform, our final two will be two slower sentimental songs.
--------
Today is the final round of our 2021 Bracket, where Scott and Seth finally face off hermano-a-hermano. It's also a battle of pre-Rubin vs. Rubin era Avett music. A stripped-back two guitar song vs. a full band arrangement. I'd also posit that it's a song about an early demise vs. a late-in-life passing. But that's not what we're voting for β we're voting for whichever song speaks closest to us about our fragile and fleeting time on this planet.
What does it say about this subreddit that our final two are intimate examinations of our mortality? What does it say about Scott and Seth, two young men, that their best work is so beautiful yet so heavy? Good art helps us better understand ourselves and our world. Both of these songs simultaneously elicit catharsis but also remind the listener to live a life worth living.
I somewhat expect nobody to vote on this because it's practically impossible to decide. And because our eyes will be welled with so many tears ("under the curving sky" and "a tear fell from my father's eye" both cue my waterworks.) If do you manage to vote β thank you. This bracket's been fun. I'll see y'all Friday with a final summary and our prediction winners.
Which song do you prefer better?

We're making our way through a seeded bracket based on the top 16 Scott songs and top 16 Seth songs from this subreddit's rankings.
--------
Yesterday, the top two Scott tracks on The Carpenter put up one hell of a back-and-forth fight: "February Seven" took an early initial lead, then "The Once and Future Carpenter" pulled ahead but by early this morning has slipped a dozen points behind. Moments ago, "February Seven" pulled off the victory by 9 votes, just 2% of the 433 total votes cast.
Today we're voting on Seth's last second round match-up: "Will You Return?" from 2007's Emotionalism against "Pretty Girl at the Airport" from 2004's Mignonette. The initial seeding favors the last-remaining Pretty Girl song: "Pretty Girl at the Airport" was the overall #3 seed, Seth's #2 with a score of 9.81/10 while "Will You Return?" was overall #48, Seth #10.
However β over the past month we've seen heartbreak songs struggle against the more upbeat Avett songs: "The Lowering", evenly matched against "Swept Away", lost 4:1. Perennial favorite "If It's the Beaches" lost in the first round to "Paranoia in B-flat Major" and overall #50 seed "Die Die Die" has trounced both #25 "Tear Down the House" and #6 "The Fire".
Friday energy may be the decisive factor, "Will You Return?" is the energy I want to carry into this weekend despite "Pretty Girl at the Airport" packing a bigger emotional punch. We'll see!

Today's thread is βMost inspirational lyric". For example, I think HFoD/RFoP's "Decide what to be, and go be it will be nominated.
