A list of puns related to "Terrapin Station"

You won't regret it. Special surprise at 12:24
Okay Iβm going to reword all that bc I misrepresented what I was trying to say lol. Terrapin Station is my favorite studio song, I donβt care too much for the album in the scheme of things. But basically I just would like to talk about the song, which we already have been doing, but for future reference, I just meant the song isnβt talked about among the people I know. People seem to not appreciate me saying it was overrated, I suppose understandably, so just try to get what Iβm saying hereπ
I haven't fully set myself on this theory yet. I still think the idea of Terrapin Station being about Hunter (or Jerry's) personal struggle for inspiration from a muse and search to accomplish feats that seem incredible, even to you, is a more likely theory... But something clicked earlier for me. Isn't this just a really good love song?
Of course it all begins with Lady With a Fan.
Let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm
That will not forsake me, till my tale is told and done
While the fire lights aglow, strange shadows from the flames will grow
Till things we've never seen will seem familiar
Our narrator is the storyteller, invoking his inspiration to tell his tale. A few notable things: The storyteller isn't just calling for inspiration, he's begging it not to forsake him... At least until his tale is told and done. The inspiration is like a higher power being prayed to, indeed, like God. The narrator approaches it humbly. Has he had a bad history with this inspiration deserting him at just the wrong moment? Or perhaps he's thankful for that inexplicable, seemingly mystical inspiration that he's experience before?
The storyteller turns our attention to the fire, where he paints his lyrical (or simply instrumental picture if this song is indeed about Jerry) portrait of the scene, promising that things we've never seen will seem familiar. Now why would the storyteller say that? Certainly if it's about the power of the songwriting process to give life to lyrics, this fits in there perfectly, but could it also suggest that the narrator is drawing from his own past? Creating an allegorical story, but one that can be related to. (Sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own...)
Shadows of a sailor forming winds both foul and fair, all swarm
Down in Carlisle he loved a lady many years ago
Here beside him stands a man, a soldier by the looks of him,
Who came through many fights, but lost at love
Our perspective has shifted. It's no longer the narrator talking, but the perspective of those he's speaking to. Suddenly we can see a sailor in shadows cast by the fire, an omen set by the forming foul and fair winds... (May the four winds blow you safely home.) These winds, I think, serve the same allegorical purpose that I THINK the winds in Franklin's Tower serve. The winds are those of fate, carrying you wherever it may. The winds for our sailor are indecisive. What may be causing the winds of hi

I am wondering if any of you could comment your favorite live Terrapin Station(s)? Wanna give them a listen. Thanks in advance!
If your day isnβt off to a good start this gorgeous piece of music will surely brighten it. If youβre having a good morning it will brighten it even further.
A beautiful intro to The Wheel opens this uncommon pairing. One of my favorite things they ever did was slowly build an intro to The Wheel out of Space. Discordant notes slowly and ultimately give way to a melody and you just know The Wheel is coming. We donβt quite have that here but itβs still damn good.
The song selection and the sound likely place us directly in 1977, what for many serves as the absolute peak of Grateful Dead music.

I know this is totally silly and meaningless but anywayβ¦.Previously it was just Workingmanβs and American. Iβm not even saying I necessarily agree with this reclassification (well, Iβm terms of Terrapin I mean) but it makes me happy to feel like the boys are getting such a reappraisal right now. I really feel like we are seeing them ascend to a higher place in the pantheon of 20th century music. Their rightful place!
Hey everyone! I need some help finding a specific version so from you guys I seek the one time the Grateful Dead performed Terrapin Station in ENTIRETY (they play Terrapin Transit, the upbeat drum part at the end of the studio version)
edit: correcting
Terrapin Care is about as shitty a company as we can hope for in the industry. They consistently try to play the "strong arm" game and sue anyone and everyone, usually without success. Their latest lawsuit, apparently filed by a magician from The Alliance of Magicians, is laughable at best, but enigmatic of their BS strategies to gain advantages throughout the states. Quick Google searches show they have done this around the country and I could not find a successful effort yet.
Their owner, Chris Woods, appears to be nothing but a rich kid spending daddy's money while claiming to be self-made, stating "The competitive discipline gained from track and the leadership learned from teaching proved invaluable as Mr. Woods took the reins of his fatherβs real estate company in 2007 " Right, it was the track and field that made your success, not your inheritance of a real estate company while still in college. If only we could all be so lucky...
So support people that help the industry, not those who hire crap lawyers to file junk lawsuits to try and gain tactical advantages. Support social equity applicants, not rich kids spending daddy's money.
What are your opinions on the βbud bags β at Terrapin Station. They are currently $45-$55 OTD. Any strain recommendations if you have tried them? Thanks!
Please send me your favorite terrapin stations please. Just heard closing of winterland and fell in love.
Anyone know off the top of their head if this is available in Soundboard somewhere? I have a copy on my local computer as a filler at the end of the 8/8/98 show that's listed as soundboard. But wondering if it's streaming anywhere?
Thanks. Hell of a cover
While you were gone...
Raising the Dead put on a sick show tonight. Setlist
I listened to this for the first time and felt like I was on an adventure. This song raises my mood and has me feeling inspired, how couldn't you with the badass choir towards the end? (Also I fuck with the two turtles playing music, I hope they have a good train ride)
