A list of puns related to "Tere Naam"
The song is stuck in my head for some reason now I can't recall what song it was. It goes sajna naam tere sajna naam tere hai zindagi sare vai.
Oh sajna naa tere hai zindagi sareye vai.
The Anand brothers ruled the 60s with the masterpieces Guide and Jewel Thief. Vijay Anand had become the highest paid director while Dev ruled the box office all through the 60s. I have already reviewed the amazing soundtracks of both these gems and will now complete my chapter of Vijay-Dev Anand’s magnificent collaboration with the iconic movies they made before Guide and after Jewel Thief. The two movies “Tere Ghar Ke Samne” in 1963 and “Johny Mera Naam” in 1970 were both superhits with amazing music by two different generations of music directors and singers.
At the beginning of 1960s, S.D. Burman continued his run of great records with Dev Anand in “Tere Ghar Ke Samne”. Rafi and Lata are both in top form as they kick off the album with “Ek Ghar Banaunga - Tere Ghar Ke Samne”. Dev Anand’s character sings to Nutan’s image in a glass of his drink as his famous head bobs and charismatic smile are in full bloom. Lata’s famous alaap kicks off “Yeh Tanhai Haere Hai” before her younger sister Asha sings the perky “Dil Ki Manzil Hai Kuch Aisi”. Rafi ends Side one in the same way like he began it with a melodious “Tu Kahan Yeh Bata Iss Nasheeli Raat Mein”.
The three Rafi songs on side two are such iconic classic songs that every single one is strong enough to lift any soundtrack on their own. The first Rafi gem is the iconic emotional song “Soon Le Tu Dil Ki Sada” as he flawlessly sings Hasrat Jaipuri’s words. The lyrics, the melody and Rafi’s vocals are enough to invoke tears in Nutan, her family and the viewer’s eyes. Then Rafi and Lata sing one of their best love duets of all time “Dekho Rootha Na Karo” as the stylish Dev Anand and 5 time best actress winner Nutan frolic around in the woods. The album ends with the memorable “Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar” by Mohammed Rafi which was shot inside the Qutub Minar. The song is one of the rare opportunities to get a real view of the inside of this magnificent heritage site. The amazing lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri, fantastic music by Dada Burman and Rafi’s soulful voice lifts this album to its rightful deserving place in history. A Classic. 10/10.
In 1970, Goldie and Dev would get together again to transform how Bollywood made suspense movies especially its treatment of the movie's climax. This movie would mark the return of Prem Nath as the film’s memorable villain and would resurrect his career, establishing him as one of the best villains of the 70s, a promise which Goldie made to him when they made Teesri Manzil to
