A list of puns related to "Tepid Baths"
I was wondering what the after work rush hour is like. I'm thinking of going there as it's a short walk to the bus stop on the shore afterwards. But I get the feeling it might be too crowded at that time. Any one go there at the time perhaps could fill me in please?
This apartment building was built maybe 2-3 years ago, and we were in the first wave of tenants here after it was built. You'd think it'd be nice and shit, right?
FUCK. NO.
I'll spare the bitch rant about the shit we've dealt with over the years, but ever since Tuesday night, our heat has been spotty at best. And our heat is connected to the water or something, so it also means our hot water has been spotty. When one's broken, so is the other.
Luckily it's been pretty mild around here, so the coldest it's gotten in here is mid 60s F at night. That's just annoying because DD (nearly 3y old) has frozen hands and toes in the morning no matter what I do.
But honestly the worst has been the water. I haven't had a shower since Tuesday because I can only shower at night and whatever half assed fix maintenance does every morning usually breaks by dinnertime and I really really hate cold showers. Last night we actually had hot water, but I instead gave DD a bath because she hadn't bathed since SATURDAY and she was actually asking for one.
Tomorrow is my family Xmas party. Gonna see family I see maybe once a year at my mom's house. And guess what? Tonight I used the last of the luke warm water to give DD a refresher bath to make sure she's squeaky clean for the party. I desperately need a shower and I'm nearly in tears at the idea of an icy cold shower tomorrow morning, but I can't show up at my mom's like this. I've been so stressed about holiday shit, all I want is a nice hot shower and to dress up and not feel like a smelly, frumpy SAHM for a day.
I fucking hate it here. I wish we could afford to move. DD deserves better than this. I'm sick of calling maintenance and I'm sick of being polite. I know it's the holidays, but the heat's broke and we live in the north. I just don't know what to do anymore and my husband is sick of my whining so here I am... awake, anxious, pissed, and rank.
HAPPY MORNING UPDATE: HOT WATER! HOT WATER! WARM SHOWER! YAAAAY!
Hey so 27M here and looking to meet up maybe once a week to work out together?
Hi I'm new to growing hot peppers! The seed packs I have recommended a tepid bath for the seeds for 1 hour.
Is this worth doing? And does this tepid bath just consist of 2 part cold 1 part boiling water?
Thanks!
I am planning to learn swimming starting immediately when the facilities open. I am looking for a recommendation on where should I go? I am a complete beginner looking for a cheap and best option.
If the swimming lesson comes with a monthly membership to use pools would be ideal but if that doesn't exist, I don't mind driving 20-30 minutes out from CBD to get lessons once or twice a week. However, still prefer monthly membership within the CBD where can practice by myself every day.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a budgie expert and I don't claim to be one. I'm just an enthusiast and wish for other owners to not make the same mistakes as I did. Adding on, as this is targeted for new owners, I will not include anything relating to breeding (which I HIGHLY CONDEMN for new owners) or introducing a new budgie to an existing flock.
Also, I won't add anything about taming as there are numerous resources online that can aid you. I will link them under Further Resources
Fun fact, I didn't actually get budgies, my mom impulsively bought two and I was so ill-researched. so the title is inaccurate but it's relevant LOL. without further ado, let's start.
I'm new and following those early-mid-late game guides from steam and the ONI calculator sites. I'm on Rime per one of the guides. My base is built in standard 16x4 rooms. 3 columns and like 4 or 5 floors. It's encased in igneous insulation tile. Exits are 3 simple mechanical airlock doors and one free float ladder out the bottom to drain co2. (Water based liquid airlock would freeze) Walls and inside air temp is around 53 degrees F. Surrounding exterior biome is between 20F to -10F. The interior farms are too cold for mealwood or thimble reeds. Dupes don't love it which makes me sad.
I recently added 2 electrolyzers and hydrogen generator linked to a cool steam vent. I'm in taking 125F degree water from that. So one room where they are located above the base is a hot spot in the 90s, but that heat isn't free floating from the air tiles towards the bedroom or farms. I tried air pumping from the hotspot to another location with a vent without much thermal impact. So very energy inefficient. There's gotta be an easier way everyone is using during the midgame?
There's a lot of guides on cooling down hot base problems. But I haven't seen a best practice for climate controlling rooms to be hotter. Like what's the best way to keep my thimble reed farm in the narrow 70-90F range they need? I can imagine super brute force, over engineered options, but can't think of something resource efficient.
Like I've seen vague hints about a thermal tepidizer submerged in a warm water bath but haven't seen an example build and distribution from central heat plant. Is passive heating from things like metal refinery viable at these temps?
I find the thermal fluid dynamics modelling in this game super sophisticated, very challenging, and super addictive.
Edit: Thanks for the responses. This sub has a great community.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

So, itβs obvious that markets are getting spooked by new COVID fears. Stock markets are down all over the world and US market futures for Friday look brutal. Bond yields tanking as prices rise. Traditional hedges waking up. Oil thru the roof.
And what about our beloved crypto? Not quite a blood bath but certainly a retrenchment from what seems like a recent good (if a little tepid) recovery in prices.
Short term thinking is that traders are building up cash reserves and taking profits wherever they can. Sell anything and park the money until thereβs clearer direction on COVID, lockdowns, supply chain disruptions and so on.
All fair game and to be expected.
But is it smart?
As we are seeing more and more every day, crypto is becoming THE global exchange. Itβs now a verifiable asset class and banks and governments are adopting like crazy and seeing that crypto is generations ahead of where it was even a few years ago.
The smart money will quickly realize that cash is dead money. Zero return. And while crypto may be down TODAY (or even the next few days) it will be one of the first things to come back. Why? Crypto moves far far faster than other markets β stocks, commodities, etc.
So, the game is to put your money to work today. Yes, catch the falling knife. Grab the bouncing dead cat. As Warren Buffett says, βBe greedy when others are fearful.β
Short term youβll be ahead of other asset classes and long term youβll be set up for massive gains.
Financial advice? Maybe. Complete speculation and conjecture. Sure. Yes.
But this is how Iβll be treating this COVID-fueled opportunity.
You?

Just renovated my bathroom which included a deep soaking tub and a sweet new tub faucet only to discover that the faucet has an anti-scald feature that limits the water temp to a tepid 110Β°. I almost cried when I discovered this feature is now standard in all plumbing fixtures. As an adult if I want to burn my buns in a hot bath I should damn well be able to!! (Yes, I know a tub full of hot water is a luxury and wasteful. But a hot bath helps my anxiety issues.)
I rented an Airbnb for 3 months ($7600) I havent had hot water the whole time, just tepid. The owner keeps leading me on that he is going to replace the water heater.
He also said he's going to come up and clean up the trash and junk in the yard twice now (still nothing). He's been up 3 times to pick up things he said he needed on short notice (between 1-4 hrs notice forcing me to need to change my plans) 1st his truck, next a trailer and last his boots from the attic.
I also lost power for 2 days ( we didn't have candles or even a lighter).
I'm down to my last few nights here, and my uncle who is a Host for Airbnb in AK said I need to make them aware of all these issues. Does anyone have any advice? Should I ask for a discount or something?
The host is aware I've been having to shower elsewhere, and heat water on the stove to give my 2 young children baths ( he said he was sorry I had to do that, yet hasnt replaced the heater).
Pilot on me!!
Edit: for reference, this post is the time lapse of the base you see in the pictures below.
Hi all! Yesterday I posted a video of my most recent playthrough, Plastic Paradise, in which I had decided to fill the entire map with plastic. I realized after posting the video that a lot of the rooms/buildings/etc I'm using in my run aren't really visible, so I thought I'd do a writeup of the things I was using towards the end of my run. Hope you enjoy! (Here's a link to the full album.)

Here is the industry-lite area that sat below my base. It began with the AT/ST setup and refinery integration, but beyond that and ceramic production I didn't really do much with it. This is also where the original atmosuit exit was located. A keen eye will notice that the AT in the base cooling loop is damaged. It's been damaged for over 2700 cycles.

This is my clay production chamber. It began as an attempt to make the Claymator v2, but due to PO2 offgassing being patched, it no longer worked. I adjusted it to flood the base of the chamber with PO2 sourced from a nearby infinite storage tank, and it was still running over a thousand cycles later.

Bed/bath/beyond. The bathroom setup was built around cycle 10-20, and has stood there for the full 3000 cycles. This layout has sort of become a signature build in my colonies, because it incorporates a lot of early/mid-game water processing pieces into it. The beds themselves originally extended up towards where the pip farms are, but I compacted them and used the diamond window flooring to boost decor. The carpet bits are there because the dupes can get the Tickled Tootsies stress relief while sleeping in their beds (not that they were ever really stressed to begin with, though).

The pip farms. These were originally bedrooms, a rec room, and a gym, but as I began spinning up the glossy drecko farms I realized I'd probably need to offset the dirt their mealwood would be consuming. On the left is a tiny, adhoc gym I made for a new arrival, and above them is the overflow/runoff from the oxygen system.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
Basically curious with its use with the old Roman Baths compared to the other two major βroomsβ - the Frigidarium (the cold room) and the Tepidarium (the more lukewarm room).
Obviously Frigid and Tepid survived well into modern times, but does Caldus have any deriving words? None come to mind.
When I got home, they were still there.

There are so many painful truths about my life that are watered down and shared as though they are hilarious stories. It feels a bit like hiding something in plain sight. It made it impossible for me to have my situation treated seriously because everyone already knew and I was exaggerating in their eyes.
For example, my mom is an alcoholic. It's just such a funny story that she would start the day with vodka and juice. How funny. How quirky. Not...you drove your child to school everyday with a drink in your hand?
I've been made the butt of jokes about being a hypochondriac by my family because I overreact to everything. But what about when I was little and sat in a tepid bath sobbing that I couldn't breathe with a fever of 103+ while my mom told me I was fine and just walked away?
My family talks about what a filthy kid I was. But no one took the time to make sure I knew how to properly care for myself. I just figured it out as I went. It's so obvious when I consider a little memory of once taking a bath at my grandma's house and her telling me I needed to wash my feet. I presented my clean feet and felt so proud.
These are just little, seemingly harmless examples off the top of my head. I just...I see it now...and I don't know what to do with this realization. It feels liberating to go, "Oh my God! I wasn't at fault!" And also so sad.
Even now I feel afraid to post this, that someone will side against me and tell me I'm being too sensitive. Because that has always been the story when I have had feelings that are inconvenient for others.
*Edit to add* There are other examples of things that seem unquestionable to me (even if it doesn't to others). Like, I had a kitten I loved at my dad's house. He tried to climb my dad's leg while he was washing dishes and my dad got mad and just drowned him in the soapy dishwater and threw him in the trash. Fucking psycho shit. And people share that story like, "Oh, gee...that's just sooOOO Dad. Har har har." But it is the small things that seem to fuck me up. The things that make me questions my sanity I guess because they are like a million tiny fractures in my reality.
I won't be doing that today!

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
