I got a tape head cleaner and used it in my camcorder. All of my tapes still have the same effect on them.
I was at a very important event on Saturday and used the camcorder to record. My display had no strangeness whatsoever going on during recording. At one point however I did finally get a 'Clean tape heads" alert.
I used my cleaner (safely) 3 times, checking to see if it worked after each try. Still the same effect as I posted before. Can someone please help me figure this out. I would be devastated if I cant save this footage.
Doing my routine head cleaning and picked up a new head cleaning tape which picked up a lot more gunk than I expected. I know it's easy to just go ahead and get another cleaning tape but I hate to waste plastic like that. Is there anywhere you can just buy the cloth tape used in head cleaners? Am I just being bad at Googling this?
Link for an example of what I mean. Previous recordings on the tape were far more corrupted but they have people in them so I didn't want to upload. The colour shift is unrelated - I changed the white balance while recording (looks like shit will not use "indoor" again).
Also, to be super clear, by "playback" I literally mean when you play a tape (even a prerecorded one like a movie) on the camcorder. The live video feed to the viewfinder is unaffected.
Just want to ask if this is likely to be the problem before I waste £6 on a head cleaner tape.

I cleaned my 4 track heads with prop alcohol and lint freeze swab. Everything seems to be in working order. But I’m curios about the Cassette Tape Head Cleaner + Demagnetizer combo cleaners. Are they any good? Should I get one?
I’m trying to fix my vhs players which are eating tapes. Not really sure how to get to the circuit boards on the system to take the machine apart.
Hi all, curious as to what everyone uses to clean their grip tape. Mines a little muddy because of the AMAZING British weather and I'm not a fan of the look. Suggestions?
I have a great cassette deck in my '99 Passat that I use for most of my listening. I bought a cassette player cleaner on eBay a little while ago, linked here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vinyl-Styl-Audio-Cassette-Head-Cleaner-Demagnet-Cleaner-/302613776567. It purports to be a demagnetizer as well a a cleaner, but all it has is a small round magnet that spins while the cloth tape, which gets soaked in "cleaner fluid" runs over the capstan, pinch rollers, and the head itself. I used it a couple times to great success, with my tapes sounding much "cleaner", and I stopped having issues with popping noises during playback.
However, I've started to have issues again. I realized that while a cassette is playing a silent section, such as at the end of a side, the tape player will emit a low humming noise, which it didn't before. Also, and more interestingly, the tape head will play some of the opposite side of the tape, at normal speed, but backwards, very quietly. What's going on? Is this reversible? Am I damaging my tape deck with the cleaner/magnet? Will a damaged tape head hurt my tapes during playback?

Hi, I recently attempted to play a cassette in my car and the following occurred. I was wondering if this could be fixed via the use of a tape head cleaner kit or if there is some other problem with my cars cassette player. This is in a 1997 Toyota Camry if that helps. The grinding sound in the background is the antenna on my car, trying to go up/down which makes an annoying sound whenever it goes up or down, not the cassette player. Thanks in advance!

Video was distorted (horizontal lines/pixelation) The beginning portion of the tape was affected the most however the problem persists throughout the whole tape. (Actually there's 2 tapes)
Got a cleaning tape in the mail. TWO Questions:
Could the problem lie with the tapes I was using? I bought two and the package looked relatively new.
Also, Could these old tapes make the heads dirty again or do I have to buy brand new tapes and record on those to test after I clean it?
Back story About a year ago I move into a flat where there was no bond, no tenancy agreement, nothing in advance, no stress? Far from it. The deal was I paid rent in cash weekly to a guy who lived in the house, there was at one point 10 people living in the house with 2 bathrooms plus 3 more people in 3 caravans parked around the property and 2 more in 2 sleep outs outside. (All paying atleast $120 a week in cash to a guy on the unemployment benefit).
Recently There was some sort of investigation after some drama when the fresh choice coughing guy moved in for about a month (one of the most drama filled month of my life), it ended with the head tenant/landlord/cleaner (not sure what to call him in the post these are just the titles he uses depending on who he's talking to) convincing the officials that he was just a tenant/cleaner living there and the money goes to his friend who actually owns the property.
Currently A property management company now runs the inside of the house and has 4 tenants under a tenancy agreement with 2 pending. Included the old landlord who actually has someone else living in his room paying him cash while he lives in another house he managed to get through a housing trust I'm pretty sure is ment to be for people in need. he also comes to the house every second day to do minimal cleaning etc which he does to "live" there rent free. He also has 2 other people renting the sleep outs paying him cash while he claims the property manager is aware of them living there but told them If they ever run into her to just say they are just his friends not paying rent but waiting till rooms become available.
Urgent So 2 nights ago at 4am the landlord/head tenant/cleaner unlocked my door with a key which he claimed multiple times he never had while I was sleeping and I woke while he was opening my door, I lost my shit at him and he quickly left. Few hours later he trys to explain to me the reason he came into my room was because one of the guys that was giving him cash to live in the sleepout moved out without notice while owing him $125 for weed he sells, he thought for some reason because I talked to the guy I was in on it all with him and I might have moved out also because I also owed a small tick for weed lol.
I'm at a lost what to do and this is not even the tip of the juicy details I could fill you all in with. Please ask any thing you'd like to know more about but keep in my I'm on a tablet and typing sucks.
