A list of puns related to "TAFE Queensland"
Does anyone know whatβs happening to Tafe QLD. Last I heard it was business as usual until someone from TAFE catches it (nice). So hard to study for exams when thereβs so much uncertainty. Anyone else have an idea of what might happen?
So I hated my office job and wish to get into this trade, finished a preliminary part-time training and I think I like it. Naturally the next step is to study it full time, and I'm on the fence between TAFE Queensland and TAFE South Australia.
The reason behind choosing an Australian institute is that Australia might be easier to immigrate to ,and if you have other suggestions I'll be more than happy to hear them!
Hi everyone,
28F Australian (currently in Brisbane, Queensland). I'll be applying for my UK Ancestry visa in the coming days. I have everything I need set aside and I'm not at all concerned about being rejected. I've been looking forward to moving abroad for years and am finally doing it.
I've worked in medical administration here in Australia for my whole working life, but I'd love to build a career outside of medical. Is it difficult landing a position in general admin or office support over in Chester? I don't have any specific qualifications outside of some IT certificates from Tafe QLD. However, I have worked in a job over the past 11 months that featured MS Excel quite heavily.
Does Chester have many office jobs, or is it mostly retail? Manufacturing? Hospitality? π€·πΌββοΈ
I'm worrying more about being jobless more than I worry about anything else.
Thanks for your insights
So I feel like I've wasted my day and my next stop will be to see a lawyer.
So my day started by going to TAFE to find out how to become a qualified Automotive Mechanic (Electric Cars)
Like you would if you wanted to work on Petrol, diesel, trucks, plant, boats, etc.
>Sir, we don't have any courses because there aren't any businesses with an appropriate licence, however if you find one we're happy to consider having you do training there
So I ring QLD Business registry to find out who is licenced in Automotive Mechanic (Electric Cars)
>Sir, there are no businesses licenced to fix electric cars in Queensland, there is also no licence for an Electric Car Workshop, and no requirement to be licenced as there is no trade skill you need to hold to do the work. Once there is a trade skill, we can licence it. You could try contacting TMR
So I can't get the skill, because no one is licenced....but no one is licenced because there is no skill...right. I feel like I'm in a loop.
So I contact TMR:
>Are you doing safety certificates or Roadworthy inspections?
No
>Then not our concern
So from what I've gathered today:
To fix a moped...I need an Automotive Mechanic (Motorcycle) qualification, a licence, a workshop, and to have done a 4 years course.
To fix a Tesla, or a Leaf, or an electric car....I can rent a shed, slap a sign on the door and go for broke...
Greetings everyone! The Potato is back again for the next part of this misadventure. So today in this adventure my dad makes a more prominent appearance. Like I mentioned briefly, my dad and DM are on good terms. As such, if DM is having trouble around his house, my dad is happy to help him fix up some stuff as long as DM pays my dad in beer and or lunch. Earlier that week there was a storm and half a gum tree fell through his fence.
So my dad was in the backyard with some tools fixing up the fence while the rest of us were inside just chilling and partaking in small talk while waiting for everyone to turn up. The topic revolved around what we were studying at Uni/TAFE/what jobs we have.
Ori was studying to be a personal trainer and was talking about going to do his first Spartan race, which is basically a race thatβs a huge obstacle course. My sister did one about a year later and she ended up with a huge bruise on her back and thigh from where she slipped and fell down a ramp.
Nina is a baker and works at a local bakery 5 days a week. Itβs a place that does a lot of gluten free and vegan stuff. Up until this point Nina has been bringing in lots of homemade baked goods for us to snack on during our games, and as it turns out she was testing some of the newer recipes on us.
Ludo was currently in medical school and was well on his way to being a neurosurgeon. The dude is a lot smarter than he looks. Which is saying something since he already looked really smart to begin with.
Akira was a business major of some kind. Iβm still not exactly sure how business major stuff works. He did try to explain, but some things just go over my head. Point is he enjoys it and heβs happy.
DM is studying to be a high school History teacher. Considering how much both DM and I hated school I still have no idea why he wanted to teach kids. But he really likes Ancient History (specifically Aztec/Incan cultures). I asked him why he didnβt get into archeology, and he admitted heβs too much of a little bitch to spend long hours in the sun. I respect he actually admitted it.
Linkbeard said he was studying to be a physicist. Specifically a nuclear physicist. I honestly had no words. Maybe he actually was smart enough to be able to do that. Maybe his family had deep enough pockets to pay for that course. Maybe they took out a student loan? While student loans arenβt as bad as they are in America, it can still be pretty bad depending where you go.
As for me, I took a course i

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
A season-long injury is set to keep a Townsville veteran on the sidelines until May, and a young gun could make life difficult for him upon his return.
Blackhawks halfback Shaun Nona has revealed the extent of an injury he carried through much of the Queensland Cup campaign, one which is expected to keep him sidelined until May.
Ahead of Townsvilleβs first pre-season hitout on Monday in anticipation of the 2022 campaign, the 31-year-old will spend the training period prior to Christmas in the casualty ward.
Confined to a moon boot for the next six weeks, Nona said he suffered a bone spur in his left achilles which required surgery following his sideβs exit from the finals.
βIβve had it all year, the coaching staff at the club have monitored the amount of work I could do at training to get me through a couple of sessions and fit for the weekend,β Nona said.
βI could get through a half all right, but once the body cooled down the first 10 minutes after halftime were quite painful to get through.
βAfter games when weβd travel it was quite hard; you sit on the bus for an hour from the Gold Coast and when I got to the airport I could barely walk to check in my bag.
βWhen I was running I was favouring the right side of my body. I was finding ways around it to make it less painful, but in saying that I was putting a lot of strain on other muscles.β
Despite the discomfort he was constantly in, Nona still managed to play a crucial role in steering an already injury-riddled Blackhawks outfit to the finals.
He finished atop of the competition for linebreak assists (18), second in try assists (21) and sixth for points (108) prior to the green machineβs elimination final defeat.
However the rise of a young gun within the clubβs ranks has Nona admittedly anxious about his position once he returns.
Aaron Moore assumed the number seven jumper frequently as the Blackhawks juggled injuries, suspensions and player commitments to the North Queensland Cowboys.
Himself a former Cowboys contracted player, the 20-year-oldβs first campaign since not being signed by the NRL club eventuate in six appearances in his debut year of senior football.
Moore earned the praise of Blackhawks football operations manager Adrian Thompson, who said the emerging star would have every chance in the pre-season to impress for the halfback job long term.
With Josh Hoffman and Bacho Salam leaving the club and leaving voids in the outside backs, a reshuffle of the backline from the likes

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
