A list of puns related to "Surveyor general"
Firstly, due to my limited knowledge of foreign professional field, i am not really sure that my profession has an exact analogy in Europe/North America, and my translation of its name is accurate enough.
I am private employed "building and stucture surveying engineer" (ΠΈΠ½ΠΆΠ΅Π½Π΅Ρ ΠΎΠ±ΡΠ»Π΅Π΄ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΡ Π·Π΄Π°Π½ΠΈΠΉ ΠΈ ΡΠΎΠΎΡΡΠΆΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠΉ) and my job is to figure out, if the already existing building or structure in question is fit for continious use.
Basically - we are the guys people call when they find cracks in their walls or cellings, or when they want to build another floor up, or when they want to restore their old building and lack any information on it.
Once called upon, we mount an investigations of various depth - from quick visual analysis , to months - long fieldwork - and then give our recommendations.
This job can be quite demanding - we almost never work with the new contruction sites (construction companies have in-house quality control) and left with investigating existing buildings, which almost never have any proper documentation. And when they have it - it is often misleading, outright wrong, or so old that is no longer applicable.
Getting to the point of "What exactly you do at work" - moderatly sized investigation includes:
Sometimes our client doesn`t have anything. Sometimes they think they do not have anything, and just not bothering to look properly at "heaps of old papers" closed in some forgotten rooms. Sometimes thay have mess of an archive (big industrial plants, mostly), guarded by an older individual who just doesn`t know or care enough to find it. Once we had an outright hostile client (goverment official), who hid all he had. Fun stories, you can tell.
This includes going through whole building and finding any and all defects, strange cosntruction choices or just curious prediacments we need to investigate. Cracks, damp places, oddly paced collumns, missing walls, other "modifications" made in the long lifespan of the building - you name it. All of this we mark down and make photos of it.
Sorry, I don't know what else to call it. You'll understand when you check it out.
Study the image provided and tell me where you stand.
For the sake of simplicity, assume jobs related to research and innovation, medical science, teaching and social services is what the world needs.
Also, if what you are getting paid for it isn't enough to support your lifestyle, assume that you are in the 'Not getting paid for it' category.

Looking to build a retaining wall & fence that will be 2-3 feet inside my property line. Here's a look at my Surveyors Map. I have found markings on our street curb (Marked in Purple). I'm having problems understanding what directions like N 76 degrees 31' 32" E mean. Can anyone give me some DIY tips on getting this marked +- a foot.
TLDR: Have Map, want to plot, help me :) tools i have: tripod mounted laser level, gps cell phone, tape measure.
I am currently studying surveying and have a question in an assignment that I can't find a guide to on the Internet and in manuals. Describe the maintenance procedure to deal with a wet total station... My answer would be don't get it wet in the first place!
Asking because I'm keen to get a foot in the door into the surveying industry but have tendonitis in both my wrists. Wondering what kind of load, or how to things are usually hauled about so I can make the right decision for my current situation.
Cheers.

##New Expansion Breakdown - Siege of the Atlas

One of my "homework assignments" is to watch videos on how different engines work, but that is proving to be more difficult than I had initially thought. Any recommendations on YouTube channels or the like?
Decided to dig deeper after seeing a post about tech and finance being better career paths than medicine. In terms of lifetime career earnings, I feel medicine strikes a great balance between high wages and interpersonal impact. Though the grass may be greener during medical school, we'll catch up eventually. (Although this doesn't account for stock options and bonuses that certain professions may have)

As Tris said, the team was a mixed bag, but that reflected the disciplines of the Little Oneβs crew. Aki looked forward most to the individuals that didnβt have the same background as the rest, but was surprised as introductions went on. Some of the individuals here were well-renowned for their accomplishments. One had increased the disruption-effects of vacuum drives by more than 50% in a time where most increases were less than a single-percentage point. Another was the designer of the shuttle they had tacked the drive column and other systems onto to create the Little One.
The other thing that Aki quickly picked up on were the attitudes of the others. The cutthroat, aggressive attitude that Aki frequently found in their teams on Andeluvia were nowhere to be found here. There was passion, and a few who were more pretentious or self-righteous than others, true, but it was a much more mellow environment than the one that they were used to.
Most of the teams quickly introduced themselves, then headed back to analyzing the data theyβd collected from the dayβs trial. Based on what Aki understood, the teams were trying to map out the space that they traveled through when they launched with a Ripdrive. The teams sent small probes made up of a rip generator, a vacuum drive, and a few instruments feeding data over two entanglement lines. That way when one inevitably didnβt reemerge from ripspace, they still had everything that the probe had and was collecting.
This data was being fed back to different teams. Some were trying to label jump parameters in a more human-understandable way. Others were trying to push assumed rules in the drives. One of the most promising ones was trying to break the assumption that the generator and the drive had to go with whatever was being moved. They had some data that matched some that Aki and Pavel had created in their initial trials before theyβd actually launched anything.
Pavel and Kelli immediately found teams that needed their help. From what Aki understood, the researchers were missing some of the key details that would enable the team to fully grasp the problem.
That left Aki in a difficult position. They often considered themself the glue that held the team together. Now, however, the team was much larger and working on already-establi
