Nearby bass/sunfish ponds? South Sac?
Hi y'all, Trying to find a nice pond that I can fish nearby as it heats up and so I don't have to drive to the foothills to go for trout. Any suggestions? I ain't got a boat or a tube (yet) but it's looking like I might need one. Thanks in advance!

Spent the day at my wife’s grandparents house in Leesburg today. Got a boat lesson, and fished their little pond. Got these little guys! I think a spotted sunfish, a baby spotted sunfish, or maybe warmouth? How can you tell the difference in species?

This tiny pond(Houston,TX)has beautifully colored sunfish. Besides these crazy colored ones, This spot only holds Green Sunfish & Longears. Is this a hybrid of the two?

Big sunny on a live minnow. The pond i fish has a ton of monster sunfish but its catch and release only so I can't eat them
Anybody reccomend a pond/lake with lots of small green sunfish?
Decided to try out microfishing this weekend and failed miserably. Getting some new smaller hooks and want to try again for green sunfish. Would prefer it's somewhere that isn't catch and release in case I want to keep one. Also are there longear sunfish in Maryland? I thought they were a Midwest/south species but googling last night I found an article listing them in Maryland.

Went to catch carp in Neighborhood pond in AZ, pulled these out. Are these a type of sunfish? They were about 6-8 inches long (Im a size 10.5 shoe for scale). Also got to remove a treble hook someone left in there :)

A pretty good redear sunfish from the pond- I’m 6’3” with big hands for perspective- it’s getting to be that time of year again in south Louisiana!
