(HUGE SPOILERS FOR THE MCU AND THE FOX-MEN UNIVERSE)
I just got back from watching X-Men Apocalypse, I know it's not MCU, but that's not the main point of this post, it's actually for the MCU's future.
Here's something a lot of people are wondering which could happen in the future of the MCU. Who will pick up Steve Rogers' shield after he goes (Sadly it will happen, "nothing lasts forever." Some might even argue that Chris Evans is Captain America himself.
At the end of X-Men Apocalypse, we were greeted with the new original X-Men line up with these brand new actors and their original costumes (done beautifully by the way). These new actors only had 2 hours to convince us that they are our new official X-Men going forward with the franchise. It came to me that we are never gonna see the original older actors ever again.
Sebastian Stan, however, has been in the MCU since 2011. He is an amazing actor! He played a ladies man and a brave soldier (TFA), he played a silent, brainwashed, psycho assassin only using his eyes and his face expression (TWS), (seriously, winter soldier only had like 6 lines tops, all plaued perfectly), he played a sad, gloomy, old man trying to find his place in a world he knew he didn't belong in (Civil War). I'm sure he can play a Star-Spangled man with a plan as well. Everyone loves him as Bucky/Winter Soldier, but I see a lot of people against the idea of him becoming Captain America. I'll admit, I'm gonna be sad when Chris Evans leaves, but Sebastian Stan is the perfect replacement, as the audience already knows him.
At the end of X-Men Apocalypse, we saw a simillar line up of the new heroes, and it was done SO naturally, simillar to how we saw the New Avengers assemble at the end of AoU. I could definitely see Sebastian Stan in his black and blue Captain America comics outfit assembling the New Avengers, whoever they are, at the end of Infinity War part 2. If it's done as good and natural as X-Men's ending, I'm very much sure the general audiene will LOVE the idea of Sebastian Cap.
Disclaimer: This goes for every recast or someone passing down the mantle, I only chose Captain America because:
- Chris Evans IS Captain America...for now.
- The Captain America mantle is very iconic.
- Captain America is the heart of the MCU. Without him, the MCU wouldn't even be a quarter of what it is today.
