A list of puns related to "St. John Ambulance of Malaysia"
St John is yet another Bureaucratic heavy organisation, major burn out across emts and full of management who are disconnected from the front line, micro managing staff and collecting fat paychecks.
They have declined offers to go wholly govt funded as the donation method is more profitable and allegedly govt funding would open the books for an audit (I understand as a charity that the 'books' are open, however reading through this and there's a bit of obscurification going on)
They are closing halfway stations (basically offices with a couple emt staff on call in regional towns/roads) due to cost of running them (despite saving lives)
St John is also partially funded by nz lotto.. If they disband this would also free up funding for lotto who can then put money towards whatever it is lotto are doing best?
Development of online porkies?
Wellington free ambulance is doing alright.
With the new dhb changes it won't exactly cost the govt any more and will likely end up costing the tax payer less. Also centralises pay, roles and make all emts public servants..
Who agrees with me on this?
Hi all, I'm thinking about volunteering with St. John's Ambulance at some point in the future, and I'd like to know if anyone has any experiences to share. I know there are several agencies to volunteer with, such as the SES and CFA, so basically I'd just like to know what I'm getting into with SJA.
Just had my first interview to help with the vaccinations and starting my online training now.
Anyone else signed up to help out in any of the roles?
Booked myself onto the Vaccinator Care Volunteer in person training (after passing the interview and online training). Was wondering what it might involve, and what you end up doing during it?
It's 4 hours so am curious to hear how useful it was too so I know what to expect...
