A list of puns related to "Spelunker World"
In the cavernous world of Subterra lives a civilization made entirely of serpents. An ancient race of segmented, worm-like monsters who represent the majority of sentient life in Subterra.
You, the player, are one of these serpents. You want to become a "cavelord". Cavelords are serpents who have achieved royal status by conquering a region of cave-land and building a kingdom on it.
Your kingdom starts very small. Population: you.
In the beginning, you get to pick one of a few different classes for your player. The class you pick will determine what kind of skills you can unlock when you level-up, and what kind of crafting system you use as you play.
Centipede: Very fast and very aggressive. The DPS class of the game with a specialized dash attack, as well as a rage meter, and the ability to attack from any segment along with the head. Crafting tree specializes in smithing, requiring the player to go out and mine materials and then smelt and forge them at your headquarters.
Snake: Stealthy, agile, capable of changing colors to hide in plain sight, and can spew poison as a ranged attack. Crafting tree specializes in gathering plants, fungus, critters, and other small ingredients to mix potions that can be used to create different types of venom attacks and camouflage. Can also equip its tail segment with a variety of weapons, allowing it to defend itself with tail-attacks if it cannot use its venom spit for any reason.
Worm: A general purpose serpent, whose special ability is being able to divide into smaller worms and reassemble at will, with the leading mini-worm capable of coordinating the other mini-worms. This ones crafting tree specializes in collecting DNA from killed enemies and using it to modify the split-worm ability.
Millipede: Very durable, with high defense and HP, but lacking in speed. Crafting tree specializes in carving armor from various stones with special effects that can be discovered and collected while exploring. Class ability is being able to shrink and roll-up into a fast-moving ball, either for faster traveling or to mow down enemies.
Eel: Slimy, slippery, capable of swimming in underground rivers and lakes, and squeeze into holes to hide from larger enemies or to ambush smaller ones. Crafting tree specializes in fishing for ancient scrolls that allow the eel to use spells. These spells can give the eel abilities that can be activated at will. Generating spikes all over the body, growing tentacles that can whip enemies, gro

It was a 2d platformer that you could play co-op and the more you played, the more upgrades you unlocked for your character. You could basically infinitely grind out better gear for your character. If anyone knows of a game similar to this I would love to hear it.
I haven't played Spelunker World in a long time since my ex kept the PS4 so I figured I'd wait for the PS5 and hope for backwards compatibility. I checked the official site today and found the game is sitting down in June. I'm sad to see the game go, but I knew it wouldn't last forever since we're meeting the end of a console cycle.
I've played Spelunker Party, but without the time limited events, focus stages, and minimal online community it's not quite the same experience.
I know odds are low since this was such a niche game, but any recommendations for a game with similar team based dynamics and predominantly online gameplay?
As I'm sure you're all aware, Spelunker World is due to end as a service on July 29th, 2020 at 8:00 AM PDT. I am of course, distraught about it because I love playing this game and it has given me many memorable moments to look back on. Those with the game still on their consoles can still play it up until this date with every event running at once, but no new players can download the game from the Playstation Store.
Spelunker Party will be the only modern version of the Spelunker series after this date.
In it's wake, I would like to announce that I have made a discord server for fans of the Spelunker Series, or people who just need some help with Spelunker Party.
Here is a link to the server with limitless use and no expiry: https://discord.gg/2S98znM
Hope to see some Spelunker fans there!
Hello,
I'm brand new to the Reddit community so I hope I'm posting this right... If I'm not, please forgive me.
Anyway, after playing Spelunker World for a couple weeks, and having major troubles figuring certain things out... I've decided to start something I don't think anyone else has yet.
I had a lot of downtime at work today, and was able to start compiling a spreadsheet of things I wish I had known when I first started the game.
I would love for this sheet to evolve into something bigger (maybe even informations veterans of the game would find helpful?), and would greatly appreciate any feedback and/or CONSTRUCTIVE criticism(s).
Anyone who would like to help contribute to the cause, inbox me on PS4 (PSN: StayInspired) and I can give you permissions to make edits to the spreadsheet.
Again, hope I did this right... or else my first post will be a massive failure, lol.
Thanks!
edit: I already think I did the link wrong.
In case I did, here it is below:

As you all may have noticed, there's no Collab Event for this week... Leaving only the Cave Event and Snowball.
I'm going to allude back to a tentative schedule that I put in a post a while back:
"Based upon historic data, we can assume that the following schedule will be put into place:
Lara Croft - 9/15/16 - 10/13/16 (Stage 2)
Mystery of Atlantis - 10/13/16 - 11/10/16 (Stage 2) (Very, very close to 1 year anniversary (11/11/15). If anything is going to change at all, it's going to happen here)
Secret of Mana - 11/10/16 - 12/8/16 (Stage 4)
Million Arthur - 12/8/16 - 1/5/17 (Stage 4)
Neptunia - 1/5/17 - 2/2/17 (Stage 3)"
I'm assuming there are only a few scenarios in which it was necessary for them to do this:
Assumption 1: Developers simply wanted to align the cave events with the collaboration events. To do this, they'll skip this week (which has already happened) and next week, which would put MoA coming back at the same time as the new cave. Not really sure what would provoke that decision, but it is a possibility.
Assumption 2: With the lack of effort to produce new content lately (the reuse of the Oedo Cave stages, and reuse of OG Spelunker Stage), I'm holding out hope that they're working on something big (World 5??) to be released on the 1 year USA anniversary. If they're devoting most of their time and effort to something of this caliber, I could see why they just didn't have the time to do things that have become a sort of "social expectation" as of late.
Assumption 3: Maybe (and I really hope not) Spelunker World just isn't generating enough revenue for them to devote enough staff to the SW Dev Team to keep up with all that they've been giving us lately.
I really hope my second assumption (or something similar) is what's going on... Either way, I have a really strong hunch that November 11th will be the tell-all date.
Thoughts? Comments?

Hey guys!
I'm sure you've noticed my inactivity in the sub and in the game as of late, and now you get to find out why.
I've been working on this for months now, and I'm finally ready to share this with the public for critique and any ideas that you may have.
So... If you follow the link below, you'll find a spreadsheet with a wealth of information and picture explanations. I intend to use all the data I have gathered here to compile a website (and possible forum?) for Spelunker World! I'm almost done with everything that I have planned, and since I'm very busy in real life, I've decided to share this now so I can get all your feedback now while I slowly finish gathering the rest of what I need before implementation.
Over the next few weeks, I intend to finish what I have planned for this project, and take any advice I deem worthy from you guys and put it into action when I finally build an actual site.
The biggest dilemma I currently face: I have very little experience with coding. I took one web design course in High School 10+ years ago, and aside from that and some piddling with HTML coding when MySpace was in its prime, I have very little knowledge of hosting a website.
So... While I may have to do some research and learning to make this happen, it IS going to happen eventually. Everything you see when you click on this link is going to be presented in a theme similar to the picture on the first sheet of the document.
So what do I want from you guys while I finish tying up loose ends?
This:
Can't wait to hear from you all. I've worked very hard on this for a very long time.
Also: shout o
