Thatβs all for todays Daily Brawlhalla Discussion. Keep on brawling!
Hello IMAM! I got my samples from Fyrinnae's Shipwreck collection a few days ago and have been testing since. I have reviews for seven of the nine scents in this collection, plus a bunch of bonus mini-reviews from their fall collection.
About my nose: I tend to amp sweetness of all kinds, particularly sugar and candy notes. Musks are hit-or-miss "plasticky" for me, as are lighter ambers. Things will smell different to everyone, but take my thoughts on these notes particularly with a grain of salt!
Shipwreck
Generally speaking, this is a great collection for people who love woods/citrus/salt, aka me. While none of these smell all that similar, a number of notes show up multiple times throughout the collection and it feels very cohesive!
Adriatic (Various hardwoods, salty air, wet sandstone, notes of grapefruit and geranium, grounded with just a drop of smoky vetiver.) Very bright and "clean" smelling. The grapefruit doesn't read as specifically grapefruit to me, more general citrus, but I definitely get a very distinct geranium, herbal and almost minty. There's a sharp saltiness running through it and I can't pick out any particular wood, more just a woodsy base. As it dries down, it gets a little sandier and stays that way. Reminds me a little of men's-sporty-bodywash style scents, but like, better.
Black Squall (Cold and clean-smelling seawater, ozonic air, now and then a little olive oil from the lamps.) A deep aquatic with a touch of ozone and a hint of an herbal ~something~ along with a rich olive oil. If you told me there was a bit of geranium in here I'd believe you. The olive oil is what really gives this dimension--not warmth, exactly, but robustness and depth! I really like this one, it's unusual but very wearable.
Captain's Quarters (Leather, cotton, hardwoods, salty air, a touch of sweet frankincense, with just a hint of rum.) At first sniff, it's sweet...leather? Ah, that must be the rum. This smells surprisingly "dry," which I think is mostly from the woods. The most pronounced is a strong, almost sawdusty cedar. The cotton might also be contributing to the dryness, but it's hard to pick out specifically. There's a little salt and resin, but the stars here are the leather and woods.
Cutlass & Dagger (*Coastal juniper wood, sandalwood, neroli, pale amber, ho wood, polished steel, patchouli, and an air of clary sa
I've been playing Brawlhalla for a while now, and it's probably one of the best fighting games I've seen. However, my mom took one look at me throwing bombs on Shipwreck Falls and immediately dubbed it "evil" and banned me from playing something that had stuff like that.
Is there any way I could change game files to remove the skulls from the bouncy bombs and Shipwreck Falls while still being able to play online?
EDIT: Problem solved, thanks to u/roflcow2 ! Thank you so much for the help! :D

Maybe it's just because I play on a laptop with a relatively low resolution, but I find it rather difficult to track cyan-colored opponents on certain maps -- especially on Shipwreck Falls, which has an especially colorful and bright background. I've been playing for a while, overall level 48, and have never been able to get used to this. I tried to resolve this by looking in the game files to see if I could edit the background images, but I guess the images are bundled in one of the .swf files that I have no idea how to read (or else I can't find them).
I'd love an option to dim or even disable map backgrounds, but failing that I'd ask that Shipwreck Falls' background be a little less extreme.
They are so noncompetitive in 2v2, there is no way you can space yourself from your opponent (or teammate for that matter) and just overall not fun for more than one person. Can they not be 2v2 maps, but just 1v1 maps?
Why is this not a thing? We have Many Mammoth fortress' (Fortressi?) and Thunderguard
Do i need to say any more?
