Okay, one last check.
Jel'si stood up and patted her pockets. She wasn't wearing her normal clothes, and the different weight distribution of her new outfit kept throwing her off. Torel had put the clothes together, a human style outfit that managed to ride the line between proper feminine sensibilities and the weird backwards style of human clothing. A one piece sundress in a vibrant red that dipped low enough to show plenty of cleavage, paired with black leggings and accented by a short black coat. Sensible shoes. She had her omnipad and her ID, but no badge and no pistol. Well, not her normal pistol. Just a small backup gun she could tuck in a pocket. She didn't need it but carrying a piece was just habit at this point.
Satisfied that she wasn't missing anything, Jel'si grabbed Stace's gifts from their home on the jump seat next to her and exited the small shuttle into the brisk Earth air. Stace had been excited about spring, but it was still unbearably chilly. This damn coat might look good and help accent her less-than-spectacular chest, but it wasn't keeping the cold out. She jogged her way into the hotel and made her way towards the medical wing and Stace's apartment, slowing and taking a moment to make sure nothing was out of place and she wasn't short of breath before she went in.
Askel had a smile for her as she entered the medical office. He was using a medical sprayer, putting some sort of numbing agent on a marine's swollen ankle, and the woman's jealous glare just earned her a smirk from the Interior Agent. It must be obvious why she was here.
"Stace is getting ready, you can go right in. He's been prepping all morning." Askel offered her another smile and Jel'si's smirk turned into a nervous grin. She opened the door and the smell of home cooked food wafted out into the medical room. Jel'si stopped for a moment and just savored the flavors filling the air. She had a small snack before coming for her date since she didn't want to seem like a slob, but her mouth was immediately watering in anticipation.
"You better go in. That smell is going to attract marines like blood bugs to a sporting event." Jel'si nodded to the Helkam,

Our papas had been soldiers who came to fight the Nazis and went back home when the Allied occupation ended. None of them stayed. None of them came back either. And a bunch of white girls were left with little black bastards. They couldn’t lie and say the baby-daddy had been a German or Austrian killed in the war, like all those girls who’d gotten seduced or raped by white Americans, Frenchmen, Englishmen or Russians. Not that I’ve ever heard of a black Russian, mind you, unless you count the cocktail.
So there I was. Living proof that my Mama had sinned. With a foreign soldier. And a black one at that. Neighbors whispered behind cupped hands – if we were lucky. Shopkeepers stared, and then sniggered. My church-going Oma called me “Rabenbratl*,* meaning “roasted crow”. And I won’t even tell you what the other kids called me. Some of the teachers too.
But Mama always held her head high as she tugged me along by the hand. And she was never unkind to me, even when I pestered her. Even when I pestered her about my Papa, which I did often. I’d hear Sammy Davis Junior or Louis Armstrong on the radio - they made those white people in Vienna smile and tap along. Once I snuck into a movie theater to see “Gone with the Wind”, just to see someone like me on the screen. I didn’t like what I saw, or the way everyone else in the audience laughed whenever a black character spoke.
“Schwarzer Peter” - Black Peter.
A card game suitable for all ages.
Goal: Stay away from Black Peter!
Requirements: 37 playing cards - 18 pairs and one joker.
Rules: Shuffle and distribute an equal number of cards to each player, and don’t let anyone see what you’re holding. If you have any pairs, you can put them in the middle for all to see. The youngest player begins by selecting a random card from the person on their left. If it forms a pair with an existing card, that pair can also be put in the middle. If you choose the joker – Black Peter – pretend it is an ordinary card and hope someone else picks it from your hand. Continue, each player picking a card from the player on their left until all pairs have been placed aside. The player left holding Black Peter loses the game.
On rainy days, my classmates wouldn’t go outside for recess, they’d play cards. Their favorite game was Schwarzer Peter, Black Pet

So just in the chance this list may be helpful to anyone in anyway I just thought I’d post it here before deleting it from my notes app.

With the latest hakchi version, the option to scrape information for the games is now possible. However, the descriptions for each game are taken from TheGameDB.net, which means they can be too long and won't really fit in the small space the Genesis Mini allows for them.
So I decided to shorten or modify each description to fit within 7 lines (the maximum the stock games use), using the proper formatting and the accurate copyright information as show in the game boxes.
Here are the descriptions for the 118 games I added to my mini, plus several from other contributors. I will not be doing descriptions for every single Genesis game released, but people are welcomed to add their own to the thread.

Memorandum on Sakura Gakuin Festival☆2015(Part1)
【In4C, I'm very sorry for my mistakes, because of my bad memory, unreadable memos...I've complemented several issues by looking other reports. But still, there must be several mistakes】
★Venue: Akasaka ACT Theater (Tokyo). There are about 1300 seats, 1000 of them are on the 1st floor (25rows ×40 seats). My seat was in the left (facing to the stage) side in the middle of back-row 【But it's easy to see...and it's Megu-side!】
★Merches: It seemed Pins were soon sold-out and then Photos were gone. 【I bought nothing because of budget problem...】
★The announcement of attention before the show was made by Kurosawa-pro! It was very neat and crisp without ad-lib lines. She finished her announcement with "Well then, are you ready to make a blast!?"
★The backgroud music before the show were mostly US/Euro Pops and Rocks. Just on time (6:00pm), familiar 'The last BGM before the Sakura show'--"Kiss Me Again" feat.Alex Gaskarth (We Are The In Crowd) started and the audience got excited.
■■1. Mezase! Superlady 2015■■
The chime rings...and from a gate placed on the center of the stage, Mori-sensei slowly appeares with a grimace. He cleanes his throat and speaks solemnly "Then, I shall call the role".....And the show begins!
The intro of the song starts. C-chan with a big box in her hands and 3 other girls appeare from the left(stage-right) and run to the right and make a line. Then Rinon with a box with 3 girls come from the right. Then, from the center gate, Momoko appeares with other girls...the last girl is Saki(with a box) and she puts the box on the stage and climbs on it. This year, the lyrics of the song is shown on the screen (with the live-movie of their performance). I'm so busy in reading the lyrics, making a memo, and watching them perform...and my eyes are already wet with joy!
Saki's "In this year...I'll go from above!" makes us super-excited.
With Rinon's "I wanna get full marks!", we burst into laughing.
C-chan's "'Fukei' will live on forever" makes us smile. (It's a parody of Nagashima Shigeo -- historic baseball player -- "Giants will live on forever")
Aiko's line and banter with Megu...too hilarious!
Sara's line...At "I can't stand your forgetfullness anymore" line, I feel a bit sad there is no 'All girls disappear' choreo (4 elementary schoolers stand beside Sara, and others kneel down)
Mirena surely looks into the camera and her big-round eyes are shown on the screen.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
#Chapter 34 - When It Rains, It Pours
The next day saw them make good progress in the morning, yet the dark sky looming above made any plans for the afternoon difficult. However, Sammy was ambitious and optimistic, insistent that, even if they had to take cover for hours, they would still have time when it lightened or stopped to make it to at least the next stop along the highway.
Julie was reluctant, still thinking of the weather back in Schtat where storms were usually measured in days than hours. But it was such a well-made highway, busy with traders despite the dark skies, surely no harm to come from a bit of water.
They were wrong.
Halfway to the next stop, it poured so heavy that Julie could barely think, painful on her head through the hood. While the traders in their covered wagons continued, Sammy and Julie pulled over to find temporary cover under a tree. At the first sound of rumbling, though, Julie went about setting a tent using the broad ditch beside the highway, while Sammy put simple coats on the horses.
To put it lightly, the tent was cramped. The canvas sheet wasn’t even high enough for them to sit up straight, never mind that the groundsheet was on a slope lest the water pool, a stream already forming at the bottom of the ditch Julie had covered over. Diminishing the space further, those spoiled horses stuck their heads in.
Julie felt overwhelmed by it all as if struggling against life’s current. Things were happening, things outside her control, things she could do nothing about.
Yet she turned and saw Sammy looking as relaxed as always. Like it didn’t matter that her clothes were half-soaked, hair damp, to say nothing of the state of their socks.
Their gazes meeting, Sammy smiled. “Is something wrong?”
Julie almost shook her head, instead nodding. “I’m just worried.” It didn’t need to be said what she was worried about.
So Sammy leant in and kissed Julie. What started as a touch of lips grew ever deeper with every beat of their hearts, the sounds they made lost to the rain. And Julie forgot, forgot her worries, forgot the world around her, dragged into the world that only existed amidst their mingling breaths. Without thinking, her hand cupped Sammy’s cheek, fingertips playing with loose strands of stringy hair.

"LAKE CHAWEVA, W.Va. — Her text messages with links to medical research had gone unanswered. Her halting pleas at the kitchen table had failed. And by the time Laurel Haught pulled into her driveway to find her daughter Sam’s car newly adorned with an Infowars bumper sticker, she could only conclude that her campaign to persuade her child to get the coronavirus vaccine was going nowhere.
Laurel was vaccinated. Sam was not. They lived together, along with Laurel’s vaccinated husband and Sam’s unvaccinated boyfriend, in a tumbledown chalet above an artificial lake outside Charleston. It was a home with creaking floorboards, bulging photo albums and a fireplace that had burned through three decades of Thanksgiving nights and Christmas mornings. It was a home the Haughts had always cherished, and it was about to come apart.
“Y’all got to move out,” Laurel, then 57, told her daughter. But Sam, then 32, appealed to her father, who didn’t share his wife’s alarm about the risk of contracting the virus. The eviction was overruled. So Laurel decided there was only one thing left to do: She moved out herself.

She drove just eight miles away, finding refuge with another daughter, this one inoculated. But across that short distance was a rift that is dividing households across America.
With Thanksgiving approaching, infections high or on the rise in many parts of the country and the vaccines now widely available to children, family breaches over immunization status are reaching new levels of rancor and intensity.
Summer is over, and fall is ending — seasons when many gatherings could be held outdoors. Now American families must simultaneously confront the time of year when all respiratory viruses spread most easily and the challenge posed by loved ones who have rejected the best way to protect themselves — and others — from a respiratory virus that has claimed more than 750,000 lives in the United States.
Laurel Haught checks a West Virginia website that tracks covid cases and deaths, hoping to convince family members that the coronavirus can be deadly. (Michael S. MISAWA DIES TRAGICALLY IN THE RING
You could make a great case that the biggest pro wrestling event of all-time took place on April 2, 1995, and it obviously wasn’t Wrestlemania at the Hartford Civic Center.
The last survivor of the old line of Japanese weekly wrestling magazines, Weekly Pro Wrestling, was, like pro wrestling in Japan in general, at a popularity peak. The magazine would sell 300,000 copies every week on newsstands on virtually any street corner in any city of any size in the country. The magazine put together a show at the Tokyo Dome. Because its influence in star making and popularity of wrestling was so strong that only one promotion, WAR, which had bad relations with the magazine, would dare turn down the invitation to appear. At first, many of the 13 different promotions involved in the 13-match show were just going to send some representatives. But it turned into major competition. Once a few companies announced sending their biggest stars and in most cases, matches that were being sent to steal the show, the ante was upped. Every company wanted to shine on the biggest stage that most would ever perform before, or at the very least, not look second-rate.
There were 54 wrestlers appearing on that show, all but a few of whom were major stars. 15 of them ended up as Hall of Famers.
The show drew a sellout of about 50,000 fans and, at the time, the largest live gate in pro wrestling history, hovering in the $5 million range. There have been bigger gates, bigger events and far more publicized shows since that day, but no show in history ever contained that much superstar talent with that kind of variety of matches.
On that day, there was little question that the biggest star in pro wrestling was Mitsuharu Misawa. There were plenty of superstars and superstar reactions on a smorgasbord of types of wrestlers and styles of wrestlers, ranging from the fast-paced heyday of in-ring women’s pro wrestling, Lucha Libre, worked shoot UWFI style, a women’s MMA match, a Pancrase style shoot, a science fiction style Alien death match for the Interplanetary heavyweight title with challengers from other planets, a barbed wire barricade barbed wire baseball bat tornado death match, and an explosive barbed wire match.
After Atsushi Onita used a barbed wire baseball bat and took a full swing to the gut of rival King Pogo

This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.

What is a Neo-Geo?
The Neo-Geo is a cartridge based video game system. It was released first as an arcade unit - and then as a home console. The arcade unit is called the Multi Video System (MVS) and the home system is called the Neo-Geo Home System (NGH) or more commonly, the AES.
There was a time in video game history when home console ports of games were markedly different from their arcade counterparts. In the era of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, games had to be stripped back to run on home consoles. Simpler sprites, simpler animations, fewer sprites, characters removed, levels removed, game mechanics removed. A reasonable facsimile of a game was an acceptable trade-off for being able to play arcade favorites at home. For those readers who grew up playing arcade games and a Sega or Nintendo home console, this will be familiar.
Unless you owned a Neo-Geo. If you owned a Neo-Geo, your console experience would be identical to the arcade. The significance of this should not be understated. In 1992, you could have an arcade - perfect experience in your home. For context - this would not be the case for another two console cycles. It is generally agreed that the 2000 Dreamcast port of [Marvel vs.Capcom 2] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_vs._Capcom_2:_New_Age_of_Heroes#/media/File%3AMarvel_vs._Capcom_2_gameplay.png) was arcade perfect - aided in part by the arcade machine and Dreamcast using very similar boards. At this point in the console release timeline - the PlayStation 2 is out, and well on it’s way to becoming king.
Now a bit about the actual console. The Neo-Geo platform had home-system cartridges and MVS cartridges. The MVS cartridges are designed specifically for the stand-up, coin-operated cabinets that you would find in an arcade. The cartridges contain the game board, and are plugged directly into the machine. Arcade operators could swap out the game without swapping out the cabinet. MVS cartridges are a rectangular plastic box that houses a chipset. There is little in the way of decoration or artwork - usually just a marquee sticker with the game title that shipped in a cardboard packing box.

We also had two other players receive over 50% in this year’s election. The leading vote getter was Jeff Kent (53%), followed by Sammy Sosa (50%). On the contributor side Dusty Baker (67%), Buck Showalter (63%), Don Zimmer (56%), and Felipe Alou (55%) receiving 50% or more.
Falling off the ballot this year will be Albert Belle, Brian Roberts, Freddy Garcia, J.J. Hardy, Jake Peavey, Jason Varitek, Kelly Gruber, Lee Smith, Orlano “El Duque” Hernandez, Stephen Drew, Steve Finley, Tommy Bridges, Victor Martinez, and Will Clark after receiving less than 10% or reaching 15 years on the ballot. Joining them in the /r/BaseballHoF graveyard will be Terry Collins.

This year’s ballot will feature anyone from the 2018 ballot who received enough votes to stay on and didn't exceed the 15 ballot window as well as a number of new comers. In years past I had given every player who reached the 15 year limit or met a certain "yes" mark a second shot and unfortunately missed a number of players, so there will be a couple added on to this ballot as well and likely more in future installments. On to the results.
This year I'm going to start with those falling off the ballot. We have 13 players who will not appear on next years ballot due to either failing to get 10% of the vote, reaching 15 years on the ballot, or failing to be elected in their one year special election.
Player | Vote % | Reason |
---|---|---|
Brad Ziegler | 1.7% | Under 10% |
Brady Anderson | 1.8% | Under 10%/Final Ballot |
Jayson Werth | 5.1% | Under 10% |
Juan Gonzalez | 12.3% | Under 10%/Final Ballot |
Juan Samuel | 1.8% | Under 10%/Final Ballot |
Justin Morneau | 9.7% | Under 10% |
Kirby Puckett | 67.1% | Final Ballot |
Kyle Lohse | 1.7% | Under 10% |
Michael Young | 9.5% | Under 10% |
Miguel Tejada | 19.2% | Final Ballot |
Mike Napoli | 2.8% | under 10% |
Shawn Green | 3.5% | Under 10%/Final Ballot |
Vic Willis | 7.4% | Under 10% |
After them we had a number of write-in candidates:
Player | Comment |
---|---|
Barry Bonds | Elected in 2008 |
Chuck Klein | Failed to be elected after 7 years on the ballot |
Deion Sanders | Didn't acquire 10 years of service time |
Edgar Renteria | Failed to be elected after 1 year on the ballot |
Jake Peavy | Will be added for 2020 |
Jeff Francouer | Failed to be elected after 1 year on the ballot |
Kelly Gruber | Will be added for 2020 |
Mark McGwire | Elected in 2002 |
Melvin Mora | Failed to get elected after 1 year on the ballot |
Pete Rose | Elected in 1986 |
Shoeless Joe Jackson | Elected in 1920 |
Stephen Drew | Will be added for 2020 |
Steve Finley | Will be added for 2020 |
Tommy Bridges | Will be added for 2020 |
And finally in 2019 we will have two players joining the /r/BaseballHOF. Receiving 97.2% of the vote in his first turn on the ballot the always reliable third baseman Adrian Beltre. Joining Adrian will be the good Minnesota boy catcher Joe Mauer after getting 90.8% of the vote in his first year as well. In addition to those two elected there were only five others to receive over 50%. Kirby Puckett (67.%,15th and final ballot), Chase Utley (61.6%, 1st), Jeff Kent (54.3%, 9th), Sammy Sosa (53.7%, 9th), and Johan Santana (51.8%, 6th).
On the contributor side of things we will have one electee joining in 2019. The free agent catalyst Curt Flood after finishing with 82.6% in his second attempt. There were four others to get over 50% this year Abe Isoo (64%, 4th), Don Zimmer (63.5%, 4th), Dusty Baker (52.8%, 4th), an

When Julie woke up in the night, it was all very strange. First of all, she didn’t know why she woke up, not until she realised she needed to pee, which was very strange because she always went before going to bed. Second of all, she was still wearing her dayclothes, which she only did when they were camping. Third of all, she was so close to Sammy that every breath tickled.
So very slowly, the evening before came back to her.
A flush spread across her face and neck, ears hearing the echoes of their kisses—such weird sounds—heart thumping in her chest. Her hand came up to touch her lips, a gentle ache starting now she remembered. How different kisses could be.
It hadn’t been the soft and light kisses they usually did, instead something almost… desperate. Julie couldn’t exactly remember what she had been thinking, but she knew she’d felt like she needed to be closer to Sammy.
Before Julie could think any more of their passionate kissing, her bladder reminded her why she’d woken up. That calmed her down. Careful, she pried herself away from Sammy, only to then have Sammy reach out, holding her still.
“I need to pee,” Julie mumbled.
Julie wasn’t sure if Sammy had heard her (or was awake enough to understand), but the grip on her clothes soon relaxed.
“I’ll be back soon.”
Away from the warmth of the bed, Julie’s murky mind cooled off and, after relieving herself, she changed into her nightwear. As carefully as she’d left, she tried to slip back into the bed. However, once she stopped shuffling, Sammy clung to her again.
Julie was ready to laugh at how pointless her carefulness had been, but Sammy stilled her with a gentle kiss on the forehead. “Love you,” Sammy mumbled, her eyes closed.
For a long few seconds, Julie just stared at the outline of Sammy in the near darkness. Her heart pounded in her chest, but it was different, different to the times before. Different to whenever she’d worked her body hard, different to whenever Sammy had flirted with her.
The more Julie thought about it, she realised her heart wasn’t really pounding, but singing. It was like it wanted her to listen to it, which made her start thinking about wanting to listen to Sammy’s. She wanted to know if Sammy’s heart beat like hers, if it beat quick wh

... keep reading on reddit ➡We've reached the end of this chapter of the /r/baseballHOF project. We have no more new players to consider, but even after electing four new players last week (see full results here), and 233 players to date in this project, we have a good number of candidates that deserve further consideration. Listed below are all of the non-elected players that have received at least 25% of the vote in a previous election.
While we are wrapping up our voting here, that doesn't mean this subreddit is going away. I'd like to use this post to officially announce our next project, a year-by-year historical re-vote of major awards. While the details are not yet set and are up for discussion, I'd just like to let anyone interested know that we'll likely be starting that project in the coming weeks. So stay tuned for an official introduction announcement that I'll be posting shortly after we wrap-up this week's voting.
We'll also be revisiting our HOF here yearly to review newly eligible candidates. That will likely take place in the spring.
Last week we elected four new HOF players. Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, and Todd Helton were our final new candidates to be elected on their first ballot attempt. Andruw Jones joined them in his second attempt.
Falling just a vote short are some guys who figure to be interesting candidates for our final ballot, Fred McGriff and Scott Rolen with 72% each. Kevin Brown (67%), Jim Edmonds (61%) and Billy Wagner (50%) were the only other candidates to receive support from at least half the voters.
This week's ballot is going to be a hybrid combining a few different methods that we've utilized in our past elections. First off on this ballot, featuring the players listed below, check off any and all players you feel deserve to be considered in next week's final ballot. Those players will all receive one point.
Next, in a post below, list your top 10 choices for further consideration. These players can be either those in the list below or anyone else you feel deserves consideration, as long as he is not already elected into the /r/baseballHOF. In your listing, please rank the players. Your top choice will receive 10 points, second 9, third 8, etc.

Thank you for taking part in the /r/baseball Hall of Fame. The /r/baseball HOF was established as a means of starting a fresh Hall of Fame from scratch, to correct the mistakes made by the actual Hall. To keep up with the project please subscribe to /r/baseballHOF
To vote in this election, please follow the link above to a Google Form survey ballot. If a favorite player of yours is not listed on the ballot, and should be eligible, please use the text box to let me know and I will include him in the next ballot. To be eligible, a player must be retired by the date of the election, or essentially retired, that is he played in fewer than 10 games total in the years following the election. Also, a player must not already be elected to the /r/baseball HOF.
A player who appears in 15 elections without being elected will be removed from the ballot.
To remain on the ballot, a player is required to obtain yes votes on at least 10% of total ballots. All contributors who receive at least one vote will appear on the next ballot. See below for more info.
Those players who fall off the ballot will be referred to the Veterans Committee, which can be found at /r/baseballHOFVC
The complete results from 2006 can be found on the spreadsheet linked above. Check out the HOF tab for information on those we've enshrined so far.
Last week we posted the thread directly to r/baseball. Thank you to the moderators over there for setting that up, and welcome to all the new voters that are joining us going forward. We had 70 ballots cast last week, by far the most we've had in any one election in this project.
We have just one new HOF player this week. Long-time Astros first baseman Jeff Bagwell was named on 65/70 ballots cast (93%).
The top vote-getters of the non-elected players were Rollie Fingers (74.3%), Kirby Puckett (71.1%), Larry Walker (68.6%), Fred McGriff (58.6%), David Cone (45.7%), Dwight Gooden (45.7%), Tommy John (44.3%), Rafael Palmeiro (44.3%), Orel Hershiser (42.9%), Dale Murphy (40%),

This week's election (2013) will be our last featuring new players. We will hold one more election next week to give holdovers another chance. Our Veteran's Committee is still working, currently looking at players of the late 1970's and early 1980's. The committee will continue looking at players and contributors even though next week will be our last ballot here. If you are interested in nreamining with the project, please send myself or /u/IAMADeinonychusAMA a message and we'll add you to the Veterans' Committee.
