Captain Vikram Batraβs biopic, Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani has received a lot of praise from the audiences and critics alike. The film narrates the event of Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batraβs life leading upto the 1999 Kargil War. Kiara plays Dimple Cheema, Vikram Batraβs fiancΓ© who lived her life as a widow after he was martyred. Sidharth and Kiara along with actors like Shiv Pandit and Nikitin Dheer have received a lot of praise for their work in the film.

With the amazing reviews pouring in, Sahil Vaid, who plays Sunny says he is happy to see the audience"s reaction but regrets having done the film. In an interview with Zoom, Sahil said that he owes Dharma a lot for giving him films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Badhrinath Ki Dulhania and did Shershaah as a gesture of gratitude. He went on to say, βI kind of figured out that this is kind of a very small role and did not really want to do this role. I went to the director and told him to give me a uniformed role. I really would love to play a soldier, nobody has seen me in such roles and I really want to do those battle scenes, but the director was convinced I was best suited to play Sunny. I owe Dharma a lot. They gave me Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania as well as Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and this was in a way of me saying thank you.β
He further added that he now feels like he shouldnβt have done the film as his work has gone unnoticed, 'Shershaah has released and reviews are pouring in. People are talking about the movie, but nobody is talking about these remarkable actors who have actually lent support for this film. There are some really amazing actors who have worked in this movie, set aside their egos, and gone for smaller rolesβ¦ agreed to do bit parts because they wanted to pay tribute to the late Captain Vikram Batra. That is why I did this movie as well and now I am realising I should not have done this movie, people are not even talking about what I have done in the film.β
I present 3 movies in past 1 month
Haseen Dilruba: Ok'ish movie overshadowed by aggressive PR from Taapsee on Twitter and elsewhere. Baiting reviewers and headlines. Endless rebuttals. All very creative except the movie.
Mimi: Zero PR from Kriti. No statements against anyone. No twitter fights. No rebuttals. Simple sweet movie that got appreciated.
Shershaah: No controversies, no aggressive PR. No toxcity on social media. No blames. Simple content, good production values and that's it.
Bonus: Any movie from Kangana suffers from same toxicity and toxic promotions. Notice how even during Haseen Dilruba release she did the same and swung for toxic PR. My theory is that it was done as producers of Haseen Dilruba are close to Kangana and have done this before.
Matlb kya tha ye.
It was awful in every aspect. Itβs a step by step guide on how not make a war movie. My favorite Oscar winning scenes are -
The Indian pilot survive a crash in the sea and only way his seniors find him alive is at his home hugging his daughter.
And the epic slo-mo walk after blowing up 50 time bombs .
If feels disrespectful to the real brave heart of Bhuj, instead of showing them to be Human doing extraordinary task that they did, they just made them a caricature of superhero.
First of all, I have utmost respect for Captain Vikram Batra for making ultimate sacrifice for our country and ofc Dimple for the love she has for the braveheart. But this is what I've been seeing from last few days.
The main motive of the story was to tell about a brave heart, how passionate he was about serving in the army , how he was a normal person and as a lover. Love was only an important part , his entire life wasn't abt love. But the focus nowadays has only turned to this part only. Most of the ppl are discussing about Vikram Dimple. Various photos have been put online from his college days claiming a lady as dimple ( when the lady has made it clear that she doesn't want limelight and wants privacy ).
I think Siddharth and Kiara's PR is to be blamed here. They are trying very hard to sell them as the new IT couple and make them happening since most of the ppl think of them as PR couple just like any other film promotion (no doubt they are good looking individually as well as together ). They have literally shifted the entire focus to his love life rather than his bravery and sacrifice .
PS - Some of you may feel that this doesn't need to be discussed here but I'm saying that maybe Sid and kiara are going over drive with their PR game and using a warrior's story for their own benefit.
After disappointing tracks from two biggest music directors I follow
Amit Trivedi sucked in Haseen Dilruba
AR Rahman was pedestrian in Mimi
I wasnβt sure about Shershaah. But hear it yourself. Raanjha is just outstandingly good. Man Bharaya oh my god - listen to it.
This is a brilliant soundtrack and I donβt even know who the music director is. It seems all songs were independently produced.
Dharma guys - take a bow. You did good.
Based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra who was an officer of the Indian Army, posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
He has received good response for the movie . But his upcoming ventures doesn't seem much promising . Like take Mission majnu, I saw some of its pics ( stills , looks ) on insta and it just seems like another Marjaavan. As for Thank God, entire spotlight will not be on him. Ajay and Rakul will also be there. If it does well , then major of its its success will be given to Ajay. What do you feel ? Nothing heard much about that Boman Irani son's film.
Although Sidharth Malhotra has been receiving good reviews for his performance in Shershaah, there was a time whenΒ Salman KhanΒ envisioned Captain Vikram Batra's biopic with his brother-in-law, actor Aayush Sharma in the lead.Β ShershaahΒ producer Shabbir Boxwala has revealed that the actor approached him and suggested Aayush's name.
In a recent interview, Shabbir Boxwala revealed that Salman Khan hoped that the patriotic film would be Aayush Sharma's red carpet to Bollywood. However, the producer had already pitched Sidharth Malhotra's name to Vikram Batra's family.
"Salman approached me at a stage when I was in talks with Junglee Pictures. He wanted Shershaah to be Aayushβs [Sharma] debut film, and wanted to partner with me on it," he told Mid-Day. However, the family 'unanimously seconded' on the idea of Sidharth playing the Param Vir Chakra awardee by then and a meeting between the actor and the family was already arranged.
βIt would have been highly unethical to drop him for another actor. When Captain Batraβs family gave me the rights, it was a big moment for me. They showed immense trust in me, and I didnβt want to go wrong at any step. I explained [my predicament] to Salman, who was understanding. Aayush was sweet and sportingly said that playing a double role in his debut movie might be [a tall order],β he added.
Aayush Sharma eventually made his debut with Loveyatri, under Salman's production house Salman Khan Films, alongside Warina Hussain. The film was panned by critics and did not perform at the box office. The actor's next film is Antim: The Final Truth, co-starring Salman.
Meanwhile, Sidharth and his Shershaah co-star Kiara Advani have been receiving positive reviews from fans and friends. Sidharth's ex-girlfriend actAlia Bhatt took to Instagram over the weekend and praised the actors and recommended the film to her fans. Shah Rukh Khan also tweeted about Shershaah, praising Sidharth's performance in the film.

I live in Europe, and shershaah is not available on my Amazon prime video. Iβve been checking consistently since yesterday and itβs still not available. Does anyone know any reason?
Edit: I watched the movie thanks to everyoneβs help. Thank you so much
