A list of puns related to "Sharpe's Waterloo (TV programme)"
I felt slightly disappointed by Sharpe's Waterloo, at least as a finale. The Siege Of Badajoz was such an amazing battle sequence that it's a shame they didn't manage to top that. But what I really wanted to talk about was the odd editing. Why did Sharpe call his troops the South Essex again? There didn't seem to be a setup for that. What's with all the repeated "Oh My God's"? Or that little scene of Jane writing about her child in the middle of all the action? What's the point of that if there's no scene of Jane hearing news of John's death and thus getting her full comeuppance? Or at the very least, set it up earlier and don't interrupt the pace.
Harris and Hagman dying was a pretty amazing scene, but could've been more dramatic too. It's not made clear that the Prince's idea is to escape until after he's done it(and was Hagman trying to get on the horse or slap it away?).
Maybe it's just me, but it seemed all over the place. Even with some of the dialogue, I'm left wondering "was that supposed to be a gag or not?"
It's on at 8pm on Chanel Number 5!

This guy, he also often sports a moustache and plays soldiers on every army almost.
I have questions like, "how does the nutritional value of bread vary across the supermarket chains?", "Which sunscreen actually provides the SPF protection stated?", and I have no idea where to go...
I seem to remember a childrenβs TV show in the late-90s to early-2000s where aliens cleaned and sang a song. The lyrics to the song were something like βBrush It, Clean It, Sweep It, Gleam Itβ. Iβve asked a few people but no one can seem to remember it and also tried Googling various terms with no luck. Iβm hoping someone on here can remember the name of it?
My issue in my home is that the aerial is knackered and canβt get HD channels.
I can stream live through the BBCi player app, but canβt do this with the itv hub or 4 on demand with the build in apps on an LG tv with WebOS. Do you have the option to steam live TV with the itv hub and 4 on demand apple on Apple TV?
TLDR Aerial at home is crap. Can you live stream live tv though apps on Apple TV. Or is there a better solution.
With the upcoming Bi-Centennial of the Battle of Waterloo on the 18th of June, I finally sat down and read Bernard Cornwell's 'Sharpe's Waterloo,' and watched the accompanying 1997 film. In both works, I was surprised by the depiction of William II of the Netherlands' as incompetent, selfish and cowardly. Knowing very little about the man, and having done little further reading than Wikipedia vis-Γ -vis the battle itself, I'm unsure of the accuracy of this portrayal. I can only assume it's embellished to a degree, but I'd be fascinated to learn more.
When I was a kid in the 90s I absolutely loved the Horrible Histories books but by the time the live action tv programme came around in 2010 I never really watched it.
Since the UK entered another lockdown in January Iβve been working from home and helping with homeschooling my 7 year old son. During my morning breaks from work we would watch Horrible Histories and it is genuinely a brilliant tv programme. He absolutely loves it and will always ask to watch it. Itβs an anarchic sketch show, since itβs aimed at kids donβt expect in depth commentary and analysis but it really presents the facts so well. And trust me, there is enough to keep adults entertained. My son will regurgitate historical facts if we mention something or someone he saw on it.
There are some amazing parody songs as well. The ones that stick in mind are Stevenson, Brunel, Ford and the Wright Brothers singing about their improvements to transport to the tune of Grease Lightning; Crassus rapping about how rich he is (my sonβs favourite) to the tune of Dizzee Rascalβs Bonkers; the Luddites 70s punk song; Jenner, Pasteur and Fleming singing about vaccinations to the tune of Good Vibrations. The monarch song is a work of art.
It is British made so there is some pop culture references that might not travel well (eg Dizzee Rascal) but if youβre trying to get a younger person interested in history then this is a great place to start. Iβm a teacher and the history and English departments regularly use it clips and songs from it. Itβs all free to view on the BBC iPlayer.
Series 1-5 are brilliant, itβs the same ensemble cast. Quality does drop slightly after this as there is a new cast.
I've been rereading the Sharpe series over the summer and just wrapped up the Waterloo installment and I was struck by how incompetent The Prince of Orange appeared to be. The troops that ended up being caught in line by cavalry were under his command, but we he directly responsible?
I am particularly interested in the incident at Quatre Bras where Halkets brigade was charged by Kellerman while out of square.
When and why did this happen?!
Great British Bake Off, GBBO pro, the Sewing Bee, MasterChef, MasterChef pro, the make-up one, the jewellery one, the dog grooming one... Just seen an advert for a flower arranging one. Sure I'm forgetting some. A new format...? Anyone...?!
i feel like i'm being tortured
did they give these people PCP before filming started
Hey everyone!
Question from someone who doesnβt live in the UK β Iβm curious if there are any TV programmes that visit UK restaurants and show off their food?
So far the only thing Iβve been able to find has been βRamsayβs Best Restaurantsβ, but Iβm more looking for something similar to βDiners, Drive-Ins and Divesβ or βYouβve Gotta Eat Hereβ (for those familiar with these two shows).
Hope youβre all doing well; itβs great to see that things are starting to open back up for you folks!
About a family that magically ran a town. βErskineβ was the brother who did waste / rubbish collection. Any ideas please?

Hi everyone,
Yesterday June 14th CSO Edward Xu appeared in the Guangdong TV programme "Finance and Economicsβ. The speakers confirmed that the Greater Bay Area can become a technological engine for China.

TV presenter: <<Finally, letβs talk about Ehang: Ehang is a star enterprise in Guangzhou. We often see your various performances showing the power of the city in the Pearl River. What is the future direction of drones in such an era?>>
Mr. Xu : On this point, Country's President Li also mentioned that the development of urban transportation must be a three-dimensional space in the future. Ground traffic is a one-dimensional or two-dimensional traffic. Air traffic is a three-dimensional traffic. Lifting the city's traffic from the ground to a three-dimensional space, truly realizing a three-dimensional traffic, is what we have to do. At present, a word that is more popular in the world was first caused by NASA, called Urban Air Mobility (UAM). This mainly refers to urban air traffic. In Japan, South Korea and the United States, the development of UAM has been listed as a national strategy. In a notice issued by the State Council in December last year, we also hope that China will promote UAM as our national strategy as soon as possible. Because we see that urban congestion is still a problem that plagues most cities. The relatively complete solution to this problem is to look into the air.
What else will we see after the epidemic? For example, it is mentioned that the urgently needed transportation of critically ill patients in traffic accidents, fires, fire trucks stuck on the road due to congestion, can not reach this scene in the first time, we can take action through a passage in the air as soon as possible. Maybe everyone feels that unmanned traffic on the ground has not been implemented yet, why did the air come? But in fact, the reality of unmanned aerial vehicles may come sooner than everyone thinks.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Naked attraction for me. I still how shocked we were when we first chanced upon it one night. But gotta admit, it did become one of my favorite things to watch after getting home from work each night.
I literally donβt care if it has subs or not, whether its a TV show, talk show, gameshow.. as long as its not about sports.
As a reference, I am at a C1 level.
