A list of puns related to "Shane McConkey"
There are no catwalks in heaven.
***Thank you to everyone who sent in questions, I tried to answer as many as possible. I was amazed that so many of you are stoked on what I do, that's just awesome! I'm off to Australia for a while with the Nitro Circus crew so I've got to wrap up this thread. Thank you again, and keep an eye out for the next episode of Roner Vision. Until then you can see what I'm getting upto by following me @ErikRoner on Twitter.
Hi I'm Erik Roner; Professional free-skier, BASE jumping veteran, member of Travis Pastrana's Nitro Circus, star of Roner Vision on Network A. I just released a video of me riding my late friend Shane McConkey's snowmobile off an 800Ft / 250M cliff before I parachuted out. AMA!
Today I released a crazy video that I'd love for you to watch http://youtu.be/fzaU2EoZc_s
The video shows me riding a snowmobile off an 800Ft / 250M cliff in the backcountry of British Columbia, Canada before ejecting out with a parachute. Some might think this is crazy but for me it was a tribute to my late friend Shane McConkey who was my partner for many years in pioneering ski-BASE jumping (where you ski off a huge cliff and then release your parachute).
Shane was an amazing and talented guy. Please check out the movie that was made about him http://mcconkeymovie.com/
Here's a bit about me...
I grew up in Northern California and loved the outdoors. When I was 18 I headed to BYU to play soccer. There at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains my love for skiing won over my desire to play ball, but I still managed to graduate with a degree in Graphic Design.
I've traveled everywhere with skis and parachute in tow, and made numerous first descent ski BASE lines from Chile to Argentina to Alaska to New Zealand and all over Europe.
Currently I have a web-series on http://www.youtube.com/networka called Roner Vision but you also might have seen me in some of these magazines: Powder, Skiing, Outside, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Men's Journal, and FHM.
In 2005 Motocross legend Travis Pastrana, and the Nitro Circus crew contacted me to help BASE jump dirt bikes into the Grand Canyon. I loved them and they loved me so together we did two seasons with MTV, a sold out live World Tour, and the recent completion of a 3D feature film.
And I'm also the father of the craziest two-year-old daredevil on the planet - Oskar Roner!
And I must say a huge thank you to my sponsors Hurley, Rockstar, Scott, Klint, DNA and Backcountry.com.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Well hopefully this is the right place to post this (if not, my sincerest apologies). But anyways, there are two things that led to the birth of this post.
I'm a BIG Shane McConkey fan and feel that there's just something brilliant about the creation that was saucerboy...
I'm a BIG sticker person. I want to be able to stick a small version of everything I like on my laptop, water bottle, etc.
So ANYWAYS, I was incredibly unimpressed by the lack (or should I say absence) of any McConkey related merchandise (especially stickers). So I tried my hand at what could possibly turn into a sticker? Hey it's a rough attempt but maybe check it out and hit me with some feedback? Okay cool thanks :-)

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN!
I figured I could share my boot fitting experience with some of you who are considering getting your boots fitted/adjusted by him. Now, I got my boots fitted back in April when George wasn't that busy. Please keep in mind that he only sees four people a day and when it's busy season, I would suggest you to book at least two weeks in advance.
There are three McCoo's on Whistler Blackcomb. His bootfitting location is right in the village, by one of the Hilton exists, close to Surefoot. His shop is a clothing and accessory store, in the back of the store, is his bootfitting area.
He started off asking a few questions and took a look at my existing boots. Like any other beginner, I just randomly picked up a pair and skied with it until I saved enough money to go see a bootfitter. He would check to see if your boots could be adjusted first but since mine couldn't, we just moved onto the "find the right boots".
I am a petite female skier. Before I made the appointment, he asked me what kind of feet I had and I told him that my feet were tiny and skinny. He said he might or might not have the boots for me but I still wanted to go see him. Anyways, lucky enough, there was a pair of 23US Fischer racing boots waiting for me. He smiled and said that this pair of boots finally found its owner. xD
He started off by pulling out the liner that came with the boots. He looked at my legs and my feet then he started rebuilding the shell. Heating, punching, drilling until it fit perfectly for my calves and feet. He then took out a pair of in Intuition liners. He said that your feet were supposed to be wrapped in the liner. The liners were heated up and then wrapped around my feet until it cooled down (moulded to my feet). He put the liner in the shell and woohoo my boots were done! The whole process took about 2 hours.
Now, it is not done yet. It takes about 3 days for your feet to break into the new boots depends on the skier so it is suggested to go skiing for rest of the day. At the end of the day, come back to him for adjustment. For me, my toes went numb after a couple of runs so I went back to George and he punched extra toe room on the shell for me. I went back three times for the small adjustments. The boots is a perfect fit!
My boots is expected to last me about 10 years, I don't ski aggressively and I only ski about ~30 days a season. His service is not cheap but in my opinion, it's totally worth it. It also c
