A list of puns related to "Satrap"
Goes like this.
Faction declares war on one of your satraps.
You enter the war to support your satrap (does this improve your relationship with them)?
Enemy faction kinda goes "oh shit" when realizing how many factions they're at war with (guess they don't have an UI nor diplomacy screen?) and want out of war BADLY.
9 times out of 10 these factions will have a "high" rating to accepting your peace offering, meaning you can demand some gold from them until it reaches moderate. I can usually get 1500-3000 from every peace treaty.
Enjoy!
That death was the most BS thing I have ever seen.
It just bothers me more than any other character death that I've seen because the WoL is a literal god killer with the powers of gods or ascian whatnots (whole azem stuff) and the reason the Satrap died is because we *couldn't run fast enough even though they were literally about 8-10+ feet away from us.
Currently listening to book two in LST, I've come to understand that the "Sa" in "Satrap" is supposedly the same "Sa" as the deity with said name. However, the narrator Anne Flosnik pronounces the name of the deity as "sar" (like "czar") and the first two letters of "Satrap" as "say".
Is this an inconsistensy, or have I gotten it all wrong?
Should the deity's name be pronounced "Say", or should the ruler of Jamaillia be referred to as "the Sar-trap"?
Since their original invasions from the Guptas to the east of them, the Western Satraps have agreed to be annexed into the Persian empire. With plans to connect our current roads throughout our easternmost satraps with these new regions, we will eventually connect the entire structure with the western royal roads.
Long live persia.
Persia watches from her fort in Surat as the Gupta armies destroy the Western Satraps' small forces. We watch as the trade dries up and refugees flood into our fort begging to be taken back to Persian mainland. Our envoys from the fort send word about the chaos to the Shahanshah telling him of the insanity befalling our brothers in India.
The emperor sends this message:
Dear brethren in the east,
We have watched as your great satraps have fallen one by one to the Guptas to your east. From our fortress, the trade has stopped and our economic policies in the region have begun to falter.
We hereby offer you this: Surrender the remainder of your satraps to us and you may rule over them with the same level of authority that you once held. We are brothers and your largest trading ally. If you do not join us, your glorious people will fall victim to the same savage brutality as your easternmost satraps. If you join us, your culture will be respected and we will not impose our ways onto your people. You may keep your titles, lands, and religions. If you surrender your lands to us instead of the Guptas, we can march our armies to your buffer regions and held in the protection of your remaining satraps.
Together we can be so much more, join us before it's too late!
- Yazdegerd of Persia
Since our importation of goods through the Silk Road and the lands of India is so valuable to our empire, the king of kings has sent an envoy to the king of the western satraps. With him comes a message:
Dearest Iranian kin, Our shahashah has sent 500,000 solidii and his daughterโs hand in marriage to strengthen our ties. He also sends his warmest regards and crates upon crates of purple dye and olive oil which we know is hard to come by in your lands.
All we ask in return is that we may set up a small fort in the southwest of your nation for us to conduct business through. In this fort, we will allow your people to conduct business as well. We hope that by having a territorial region of india under our control and surrounded by our kin, we can not only benefit our state by having a port so close to our imports but can also help your state by having a port that can bring such fineries to your people as well. This fort will be sovereign territory of Persia.
We would be happy to host an envoy of your own in our fine halls through which we can engage in diplomacy easier
We look forward to your answer

SIDEREAL SATRAPS
Call themselves Astra. Rainbowlanders frequently name them Star Elves due to their resemblance to legendary elves that frolicked amongst Feyhain Purple Isles.
Tall, lithe and unsettling with jet black skin that seems to absorb all light and stark silver, copper, or golden hair. Thin deep red lips appear moist and inviting but their eyes are solid black except for small pinpricks of light that can only be described as looking up at a starlight lit sky on a cold cyrstal clear night.
Star Elves showed up at Nahrs in recent Rainbowlander generations. Others in the city tend to stay out of their way. For the most part they live in two or three districts of the city where they dominate. They will consider any unlike themselves to be beneath them, and only good as thralls, slaves, or servants. Many merchants in the city have become rich servicing their exoctic and esoteric tastes. The Knights of the Citadel donโt seem to bother with the Sidereals creating speculation that the Suzerain is actually one of their kind.
Some groups of Star Elves wear extremly finely crafted masks, almost translucent, wrought from glass, porceliean, and other exotic materials. No one knows why, and they arenโt sharing either.
Star Elves begin as either a Wizard or Warrior and may freely switch between the two from adventure to adventure or perhaps after a long rest reflecting on the voices from the Stars. The first time they switch they roll up HP for the new class, and keep it separate. They keep their HP total for their Wizard class separate from their Warrior class gaining HP in that class as they advance in that class, however they use whichever is the highest total regardless of which class they are playing for the adventure. They use their best saves between their classes at that class level regardless of how they are adventuring. Once they change to the Warrior class at least once they may use any weapons available to either Wizards or Warriors. While operating as a Warrior they may not utilize their magic but have access to all Warrior powers equal to their Warrior level. While operating at a Wizard, unless they are wearing magical Astra

I know that satraps were regional governors in the administrative structure of the Persian Empire but unlike, say, Roman governors, satraps were from the regional ethnic group. Thus, it would seem that Nehemiah might be considered a satrap even if that's not the term used there.
Is there any reason we cannot simply call Nehemiah a satrap, or is there a distinction in roles that I'm missing? Many thanks!

In Ck2 this was hard, but doable, but in this game it seems like its near impossible level. This area(to the north) has the best lands in the game, as far as pure holdings go, but it doesnt matter given that the muslems will holy war your s in as soon as they can. Everyone hates your guts except for Gilan, who isnt worth much with 200 low tier troops.
Everyone is stronger than you, even the alamids to the west. Tried rerolling the old satrap a few times is order to get a decent one, best I ended up with was 15 martial (with the strategist focus) and strategist tree unlocked. still had 500 troops with a pike retinue and somehow my muslem neighbours have elite quality armies from levies only than I do with a retinue; 3 badges.
Becoming a vassal doesnt work, hes just going to revoke you as soon as you do. Also couldnt do the bootlicking way, tried to sway, but its way too slow to ensure your survival. Marriage is also out of the question.
You can always become a muslem and it might buy you some time, but then whats the point in starting zoroastrian?
Did anyone tried this and had any success with it?

I am a relatively new player playing a game as the Karen satrapy. My first move was to conquer the tabaristan satrapy from the Sunni ruler. A little bit later, my vassal chief who controlled my 2 northern tribal provinces, Usturt, and Kara Bogaz managed to conquer the province of mangyshlak. This allowed me to create the title of โsatrapy of usturtโ. Since I now held 3 satrapy titles I decided it was a good idea to grant of one them away so I granted the satrapy of usturt to my chief who had just conquered it.
Immediately after the grant, his 3 provinces became their own independent satrapy. This satrapy was not even a tributary state of mine! They were almost immediately conquered by the neighboring samanid shadom who now has an uncomfortably large border with me. Why did the newly appointed satrap gain indenpendence? This has not happened playing as Christian rulers when I grant a dukedom to one of my vassals.
In the same game, I just conquered the satrapy of azerbaijan, and again hold too many satrapy titles (3), causing a major opinion negative with all of my vassals. I want to grant the new satrapy to one of my sons, but am afraid that it will also just become independent and deprive me of actually wealthy and important provinces, weakening my entire realm (Iron man so cannot go back). How can I appoint new satraps that will remain my vassals?
I am playing with all default settings and the DLC packs; the old gods, the sword of Islam, way of life, and legacy of Rome, by the way. Please help me reestablish the great Persian empire!
im tryin to get Saoshyant and ive heard that the ziyarids were a good start but i dont know many strategies for them (sorry for any bad grammar)
Just looking for any information surrounding the roles and responsibilities of these positions, as well as the historical reliability of this section.

I find it interesting that in 477-449 BC the Greeks were able to defeat the Persians in so many battles after the very recent Persian invasion of Greece. Being a satrap in Asia Minor, I must be familiar with how the Greeks fight their battles. What tactics and stratagems are available for me to fight against them?
