I decided to finally go through with transitioning (MtF) but barely know what I should be paying attention for or doing for max safety and effectiveness. I set up a meeting for next week with the San Pedro Planned Parenthood (which is 2 hours away) for HRT and I was wondering what they usually prescribe. From what I've read with other PPs it's usually estradiol and spiro, right? But I've read spiro is actually really dangerous longterm. Is it possible to ask them to set me up with bicalumatide? I heard it's muchmuch safer and more effective. I have no idea what to make of all the other combinations and medication names like progesterone, but if I did switch from what they originally prescribed would I be dooming my health, progress, and labwork or something? I was interested in using Goodrx.com since everything is cheap. Idk. I have no insurance but I'm estimating it'll be around $400 for the visit, bloodwork, pills, etc. PP will help me the whole way, right? Not just a slap on my ass after one prescription and blood test then out the door forever? I'd go to my local doctor for blood work and pills, but no insurance plus I'm positive he's not learned in trans stuff and I'm the least qualified to tell him what hormones/medication I want and in what quantities lol
