A list of puns related to "Samguk sagi"
I heard that a lot of criticisms of Empress Wu Zetian of the Zhou was because she was a woman and that her reign was pretty similar or even better than that of other Tang Emperors.
Why are Queens Seondeok and Jindeok written so positively by the Confucian Kim Bushik in the Samguk Sagi though? It seems in-spite of their genders, Korean Confucian scholars generally saw their reigns as positive and the queens as being rulers of merit. Even Queen Jinseong has her own Confucian defenders in the form of Choe Chiwon.
What was so different about these queens, Korea, or Korean Confucianism for these queens to be celebrated as opposed to being vilified, like Empress Wu?
-Goguryeo? Goguryeo [37 BCβ668 AD] was a Korean kingdom located in the northern and central parts of theΒ Korean PeninsulaΒ and the southern and central parts ofΒ Manchuria.

"In the 7th year of the reign of King Yangwon [551 C.E.], the GΓΆktΓΌrks attacked Goguryeo, besieging Sinsong Fortress and then Paegam Fortress. Though they were successfully repelled in both instances, the rival Korean kingdom of Silla took advantage of the opportunity and seized 10 fortresses in the south.
In the 18th year of King Yeongyang [607 C.E], the king sent an envoy to visit Qimin, khagan of the Eastern Khaganate. The visit coincided with a visit from the Wendi (Emperor Wen) of Sui. As the Eastern Khaganate was (at least nominally) a vassal of Sui, the khagan presented the Goguryeo envoy to the Emperor, sayingΒ βNow the envoy is here personally seeing Qimin to transform his country as a subject state, We can take advantage of [Goguryeoβs] anxieties and coerce them to be a tributary state.βΒ In response, Wendi gave the envoy a message for the king, demanding Yeongyang personally visit the Chinese court within the year to submit himself or face invasion from both Sui and the Eastern Turks. Two years later [609 C.E.] , the Goguryeo- Wars began.
On the 9th month of the 11th year of King Yeongnyu, [August, 628 C.E.] the king sent an envoy to the Tang Emperor T

Specifically, around the position of (non-aristocratic) women, as well as the general sociopolitics of King Jinheung, and the history of the Hwarang.
I've tried combing Jstor etc, but haven't come up with much beyond Richard Macbride. Most of the papers seem to deal with the Unified Silla period and later, whereas I'm interested in the earlier Kingdom.
Please let me know! Thanks in advance!
Hey, since my last post here theorizing about future 3K DLC was well received, I decided to do another one. Since my favorite (and least likely) possible DLC idea, the Baiyue/Shanyue one, was already kinda covered by the excellent Kings and Generals channel where they talk about their history, marking characteristics and etc, I decided to do one about my second (and much more likely) DLC idea, Korea.
This is a DLC that is surely coming in my opinion. Because:
There are extensive records of this time (compared to the other cultures at least) and Korean tradition of their own Three Kingdoms period is solid. via two books called the Samguk sagi and Samguk yusa, which while focusing on a much larger period, do have the myths and best recorded history of the period.
This DLC will probably be the last expansion (after the already confirmed Northern one, and I don't think we will see an Eastern (Japan) or Western (Yuezhi and Tocharians/Western Protectorate) expansion, thus, it should take them some time to make it. Unlike the Nanman and Nomads expansion, where a significant part of the necessary regions is already in the game, the entirety of the Korean Peninsula needs to be added, and some of Manchuria/Modern Jilin as well.
Nanman added 2 new commanderies with 6 regions total. Nomads will proba

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I guess the concept didn't work
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
