Last I heard in Feb2021, SIU cleared YRP of any wrong-doing in a short-pursuit and that the alleged driver of the car Drake David Tye Paul was gonna appear in court March.

Hello, Iβm an ex-traditionalist Catholic that winded up a Evangelical Protestant. I am asking people on this thread about how do we as protestants respond to Catholics defend the intersection and veneration of the saints. I keep hearing the argument that this is no difference than asking your fellow Christian(that are on earth) to pray for you.
How do I respond to this?
So I'm not a Catholic, but the saints are one of my special interests, and it's remarkable how many of them seem to have a lot of autistic traits, particularly the more modern saints. So many of their biographies read something like: "He always retained a childlike demeanor, he never married, he had a natural connection with animals and children, he sought the solitude of quiet places, he possessed great empathy, he was particularly interested in religion and study, he lived by the routine of monastic life, he shunned public attention, etc." Even the non Catholic "saints" in other religions like Judaism seem to follow this pattern. Pretty fascinating stuff.
Orthodox/Catholics believe bishops are the successors of the apostles and an LDS bishop is the leader of a congregation. Where do these individual interpretations come from?
Iβm not trying to debate for or against homosexuality, but thereβs got to be some dead Christians who are queer.
As for popes, Iβve heard rumours, (only rumours, mind you!) that Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul I were gay.
As for saints, they were John Henry Newman (obviously), Saint Francis⦠ect.
Look, Iβm scared of hell, so pardon if this comes across as a bit homophobic.
