A list of puns related to "Rotax"
Hi guys,
I'm going to start karting next year. I think about buying my own vehicle - renting two strokes is really expensive. I'd love to hear a piece of advice about my choice. First of all, few things about me:
I was thinking about Rotax Max, but my acquaintance (who's a kart mechanic) asked me if I would consider DD2. I heard a LOT of good things about DD2 class (a lot of fun, NO chain) so now I'm torn between those two. I can afford either option (I'm going to buy a used kart). What's more, I LOVE the idea of the DD2 class.
So, what do you think? Should I start with the Rotax Max, or jump into DD2? Won't be I a better driver in the future if I start in Rotax Max category?
Hello,
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone by any chance have the service manual for the rotax type 126?
Thanks in advance!

I found a deal on a kart and it would be my first kart. It just so happens that the kart says rotax challenger on it. Would it be absolutely stupid to get this as a first kart? What kind of maintenance cost and upkeep costs would I be looking at?
Thanks!
Buying an Alfano 6 (due to no stock of mychron in the country) Is it better to monitor water temp or cylinder head temp on a rotax? I would like the 2nd sensor to be a lambda sensor
anybody know anything about rotax motors? I got a go kart with a rotax 583 installed into it. just needs belt installed, and things like set the gas tank and install throttle. i did some research on the engine and it seems very unsuitable (aka too powerful) for a go kart. anyone know if im crazy for doing this or would it work out
Hello, I am looking for a budget rotax junior to start racing, I have been told that the 09 prevo engines paired with the evo kit are not far off the pace of a full evo, is this true? Or a load of rubbish?
I have a 125cc rotax max senior and it sucks fuel like a shifter kart while it is a automatic. Why is this happening is it because the kart is set richer or is there a other problem ?
And no there isn't a leak in the fuel tank.
Does anyone know if its possible to down grade a Rotax Senior EVO to a Junior EVO?
Hello r/homebuilt,
I've been working on this design in my head for a really simple kitbuilt plane which I'm going to tell you literally nothing about. Questions are in the title. I'm an insurance company receptionist but I think I have the necessary knowledge to design a silly plane.
Unrelated, what is the FAA and why are they sending me so many letters? I just shred them because they look scary.
Edit: I've received some serious, helpful answers mixed in with the jokes. You guys are awesome! Just want to reiterate that this is a joke, but the fact that some people still want to give factual and helpful support to this ludicrous idea speaks volumes about how helpful and supportive the kit building community is. Thanks, everyone!
Hi does anybody know if the parts from a rotax senior max fit on a dd2 engine? I'm thinking about buying one but need to ask some questions first!
I drove my buddy's rotax max 125 senior, prior to that i only did rentals once in a while in the summer. I was lapping with the rotax, and the speed was incredible, i was also keeping up with some guys, but obviously, did not have the same knowledge of what to do in situations that arose.
Considering i'd lose control as soon as someone comes near me. Because i panicked and didnt keep my line (which i later learned is a big mistake).
Should i learn racing with the LO206 first?
The reason why im debating even buying a rotax, is because i know that i am comfortable with the speed and that i just need to adjust some things in terms of karting etiquette that i was unfamiliar with, and the common race line.
Bottom line, i want to be a better racer but i also really like to go fast.
I know that when i get comfortable with the briggs i will move on to rotax, but i know that it wont take long for me to get comfy, and i dont know if its worth the little time i will spend with the briggs. as i crave speed.
Will the LO206 really make me a significantly better driver than if i were to start off the bat with the rotax?
(also, i am mechanically inclined; as its my job) so i like to do maintenance; as mechanics is a passion of mine, i can spend hours tinkering.
Hi guys i've been wondering which type of kart should be faster, an iame x30 with apex VAM blue tires or a rotax max senior evo on mojo d5's? ( track i drive is genk in Belgium but any track will do)
I know the engines a pretty even so I'm more curious about the tires as i couldn't find any sort of comparison on them, all i know is that the apex blue is a medium compound. Do you guys know if it's faster or slower than the mojo d5?
So I have been going to my local track recently, and all was ok until yesterday, when, for whatever reason, my kart was getting to about 14000 revs as opposed to 12000. Before we went out, we wound in this screw with a spring in it on the left side of the engine (no idea what it's called) as an experment. This was really noticeable, but it went back to my standard 12000 after a few minutes. We have tried to replicate this today, but we never could get the extra revs. Is there something I should know
Hard and Fair racing in a Rotax Max DD2 Dutch Championship
Hi!
I read somewhere that Rotax Max Evo parts can be used on the previous non evo engine. Can anyone confirm that?
For instance, can I replace the non evo ignition coil with the evo one?
Hi everyone, UK here. Myself and a friend are looking at getting into karting at a local club. The engines run there are Rotax 125s and 125 Max. The engines, as with a lot of clubs, need to be sealed.
I've found this quite unclear to research online, but what can and can't you do with a sealed engine? As I understand it you require an official engine rebuilder to rebuild the engines when the time comes and you cannot do this yourself. How regularly would we require rebuilds and how much would it cost?
There seem to be a lot of karts for sale with unsealed engines - can these ever be sealed again or are they unusable in sealed competition?
Finally is there anything else on this topic you think we should know
Thanks
This could be a totally stupid question because I know very little about this subject, but is there a gearbox I could attach to the engine? Preferably a 3 or 4 speed one
As title says I'm looking to buy a new rotax max evo engine and the supplier is offering a Fiche for Β£360. When asked what they do, it seems like they just strip the engine apart and check the components are okay and rebuild.
From a Google search, normally during a Fiche they would machine down parts to get the best tolerance and therefore best performance, but my understanding is that the rotax engines you can't do this as it's against the regulations, so is there actually any benefit from getting it done on a new rotax?
