April 30th, 2016 marks as the inauguration date of the Rocket League Championship Series. It's a day where in some people's cases - like myself - have discovered the esports side of Rocket League and I have been hooked on it ever since to the point I'm now one of the people involved in updating a wiki. It's hard to believe it's already been 3 years. I made a post last year on the same topic where I featured some of my collected stats from a history page I took time on making back in April 2018 and have been updating it ever since.
However, putting stats as well as facts and figures on the side, what made RLCS such an entertaining thing for people to keep on watching and supporting their favourite teams and players (other than spamming !rewards in chat)? As a long time fan of Remkoe and his journey throughout the RLCS from We Dem Girlz all the way to Team SoloMid - I decided to go back in time throughout those 3 years and highlight some of my personal favourite moments which majorly do not include what's happening on the pitch but outside of it - with players, casters being personalities and giving us entertainment as well as something to remember.
Starting off with Season 1, exactly 3 years ago. While we all remember Axeltoss as being our longtime host and a highly respected member of the RLCS family - it was actually not him who started off the rollercoaster - it was in fact Goldenboy. He and Scott Cole would give their contributions of hosting RLCS in Season 1 with Axel before he was made the main host all until the conclusion of Season 6. Moving on from that, how do I remember Season 1? Well, you cannot forget Doomsee's amazing book that he personally 'wrote' for Vogan about The Flying Dutchmen's achievements during their interview. In the blog post put out by Psyonix regarding its new deal with Epic Games, the following quote caught my attention: "We really do believe that you'll find our future in esports to be very exciting -- especially in the near future, where on June 21-23 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) finals will end our 7th season with a bang!"
Do you think they're just assuming the final series will be an exciting match? Or is this a teaser to an announcement that will follow the conclusion of the last series? I'm personally leading towards the ladder. It's certainly got me excited!
