There have been rumors of a possible expansion, so let’s imagine it does happen, but the NBA decides to only add one new team to the league (sorry Vegas), bringing back the beloved Seattle Supersonics. The Sonics are back babbyyyyyyyy!

Now the Sonics need to build their team from ground up, starting with the expansion draft, and following it with signing players in the off-season.

Here are some simplified terms of the expansion draft:

1. All 30 NBA teams will have the right to protect 8 players on their roster. Anyone on the current roster is protectable, including restricted free agents. If a restricted free agent is left unprotected by his former team, he is available for selection by the Supersonics, who would then hold his Bird Rights for the up-coming off-season. Teams will typically have 4-7 players unprotected. Unrestricted free agents can neither be protected from nor selected in the expansion draft -- they are essentially ignored.
   Players who are likely to be left unprotected by their former teams include aging, overpaid veterans, unproven bench players, players who do not fit in financially with their team, or who disrupt team chemistry.
2. The Sonics may only select 1 player per team.
3. The Sonics must work within 2/3 of the normal rules of the NBA salary cap, so there will be salary-related restrictions which apply to the team's selections. The team’s salary cap for the 2022-2023 season will only be 2/3 of the league cap (112.414 million), meaning 74.93 million. The minimum team salary is also 2/3 of the leagues' minimum team salary (101.173 million), meaning 67.449 million.
   The expansion draft occurs after the conclusion of the 2022 NBA Finals, but prior to the 2022 NBA Draft. The Sonics do not participate in the lottery, but automatically get the 5th and the 35th pick of the draft.
4. There are no restrictions on player positions during the draft.
5. The Sonics must select at least 14 players.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The gospel topics essay on the First Vision Accounts tries desperately to spin a narrative that the First Vision Accounts all describe "one personage, then another" by stretching "the Lord opened the heavens upon me and I saw the Lord" in the 1832 Account to make it mean "God and Jesus Christ".

The only problem is that the first credible, recorded account about "one personage, then another" is the 1835 account which starts out detailing a problematic encounter with "Joshua the Jewish minister", so the Joseph Smith Papers had to add a whitewashed biography, that is pretty damning by itself:

The 1955 MVP was full of voting controversy as Roy Campanella edged Duke Snider. There was debate as to who was the better Dodger, who was New York’s best center fielder, and who was the best young player in baseball. Nine of the top 10 finishers in the voting found their way to Cooperstown. It was the first of roughly ten MVPs Willie Mays fans feel he was snubbed.

• Campanella would win his third MVP of the previous five seasons. Seen as the best catcher of his era, Campanella threw out 23 of the 44 runners who attempted to steal a base off him for a caught stealing rate of 52%. Campbell only played in 123 (making 118 starts), and the Dodgers were 80 and 38 when he was in the lineup card as opposed to 18-17 when he didn’t go. Campanella was clutch with a .381 AVG and 1.097 OPS with RISP. The Dodgers won the NL pennant, and the now thirty-three year old Campanella was seen as their leader.

• In the 25 years since the MVP was introduced in 1931 this was the seventh time teammates finished first and second in voting in either league (there were only eight teams in each league at the time). Snider led the NL with 126 runs 136 RBIs and tied for the lead with 82 XBH, while finishing second in OBP (.418), SLG (.628), and OPS (1.046). Snider’s 42 home runs was his third consecutive season hitting at least 40 and would continue it for another two. Duke was the biggest contributor to a Dodgers offense that led the league with 857 runs scored (5.6 r/G), 96 more than any other team in the league. Hi guys, I'm from Australia where we have a State of Origin competition for rugby league and formerly our own code of football. Basically, you represent the state where you played junior footy and I've made an NBA version for the last couple of years, so here's my latest edition.

Players represent their 'state of origin', and I have used the state they played high school ball in to decide which state they represent. I am mindful of prep and boarding schools so I have used common sense; for example D'Angelo Russell grew up in Kentucky, spent 1 year at a Kentucky high school and then 3 at the Montverde Academy in Florida, he would play for Kentucky in this scenario.
