I loved rice krispies treats. It was one of the best things I could ever get for a snack growing up and they were consistently the same size and of the same taste. I went to the store yesterday to pick up a box but the box was noticeably a bit smaller than usual and upon grabbing one, the new rice krispies treats shrank about 20% from around 1 oz to 0.78 oz. I know there's still a pandemic but I'm sure as heck that the food supply wasn't as affected compared to other industries and I'm just not going to get screwed over.
First world problem, yes, but it do be like that when it comes to money.
When Meri gave Kody the rice krispy treats, and asked how many there were, his first guess was 18, as in the number of children he had. He also said that there were marital problems between he and Meri before Janelle came into the family, three years later.
He's made allusions to the fact that his children are the loves of his life, and though he doesn't seem to have a whole lot of interest in most of them, he's obviously obsessed with having them. Is it possible that Meri's infertility was behind his and Meri's marital trouble in the first place and they only jumped into plural marriage when they did to satisfy Kody's need to breed?
And now, with Meri being an empty nester, it might just make him feel old because there are no children in the house to make him feel young and virile, which makes it less of a priority to go over there. Assuming that what Meri asserts is true, and that Kody started distancing himself from her two years before the catfish scandal, that would put his lack of interest in being with her around the same time as Mariah's high school graduation and move out of the house. Maybe he only prefers spending time with his other wives because there are children there and not because he prefers any of them. What will happen when all of his wives are empty nesters? Will he want to be with any of them? Conversely, how satisfied will any of the wives be with having a part time husband when they no longer have children to distract them from their loneliness?
