A list of puns related to "Rev limiter"
Just bought a 2013 used Scion FR-S from a Toyota dealership the other day and was curious about the rev limiter. Iβve seen many videos of people banging redline in neutral. When I was revving my car up it just bounces of 3k rpms. Was wondering if thatβs how itβs supposed to be?
Hey guys so this is probably one of the stupidest things thatβs happened to me in 7 years of riding. I was riding 2014 zx6r on highway instead of up shifting my brain said βheys letβs downshift as youβre acceleratingβ and ended up hitting the Rev limiter for a couple seconds until I realised wtf I done and I need to increase the gear. Basically I donβt see any damage at the moment (in terms of exploded engine or any leaks).
Any thoughts if this is something the bike is designer to withstand or I should get it checked out? Iβm guessing the Rev limiter is actually kind of supposed to deal with situations like this to some extent?
I donβt know by how much over the limit I went, but at the very least as I was shifting the previous gear wasnβt also hitting the limit
Also I havenβt noticed that anything changed in terms of how the bike behaves. Iβll just try not to do something like this again β¦
Iβm loving my 2018 Monster 821. It doesnβt have the quick shifter so I shift clutchlessly when accelerating on the motorway. Sometimes I would hit a false neutral and accidentally rev the engine to the redline which freaks me out a lot. When I review my GoPro footage, I see that for a split second that the rev counter lit up all the way to 10,500 rpm. Upon reading the user manual, it says rpm limiter intervention threshold is 9750 rpm, so how is it possible that I rev past that when hitting a false neutral? Also do you all also experience false neutral from time to time?
Maybe my googlefu sucks but I can't find any info on if these races are planned for '22. Anyone have info or hints if either of these are on in 2022?
Even the PDF for the Fast'R ride in wickenburg AZ shows 2021 only?
Yes, for all the manual lovers out there like me who want a feeling of immersion - this won't affect you if you are driving something in A class but want to take out your latest S2 toy and know how many revs you are at and being able to shift at the most precise moment to avoid wheelspin ?
Bad luck, you're just going to have to rev it out and guess until the game decides to render the UI and meanwhile the AI has shifted perfectly and have gotten a 50 metre head start in the Goliath just purely because you can't see the UI.
Yes , I understand auto gearbox is a workaround (which i have had to do just to not tear my hair out) but it sucks, we should be able to see that speedometer the split second the car takes off.

Was looking for a rev limiter and I found this site (https://www.nengun.com/bee-r/rev-limiter?country=US&gclid=Cj0KCQiAtJeNBhCVARIsANJUJ2GEAsC5njicOe4LlwIKkb_7y0gljE877-U13kjsuw_Ftiicgd24PFwaAkZlEALw_wcB) but it has one for a BB4 and a BB8. What do these BB numbers mean? I have a 5th gen Type-SH. I found a yt video and asked in the comments which specific one he had but I couldnt find it. And earlier comment said it was on perfectrun.jp. Has anyone done this on a 5th gen if so how?
Have been trying to find what rpm the actual rev limiter or fuel cut is at on a stock ecu not tuned. From the research I did the non rev up has fuel cut at 7k and fuel cut on the rev up is somewhere between 7200-7500. Does anyone actually know? I could just go find out myself lmao but Iβd rather notπ
I was riding a buddies sv pretty hard and noticed when I hit the rev limiter on his 2000 sv it sounds and feels like a 600, as in the bike loses power and makes that distinct pinging type noise. on my 2005 sv the rev limiter sounds much ....slower? and it upsets the bike way more than hitting on on his first gen did, his was much less jerky. this got me interested and I started looking up youtube videos.

my rev limiter sounds nothing like that. I know its not an issue as ive had this bike for 30k miles just intersting to me and wondering if anyone had any info on this.
I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't enjoy the engine sounds in many of the early access gameplays, and now i'm in the game, and drifting 75% of the time it's abundantly clear.
The rev limiter is awful. All cars bounce off the red line a thousand times a second, and if you hold something on the limit, the sound becomes so muddled. It's as if all of the cars rev too quickly unless you have traction. Even in neutral, cars don't sound like this.
If you very slowly approach the rev limit in a car, there is a millimeter of trigger travel from the limiter bouncing 10x per second, to 1000x per second.
It's really off-putting.
Just wondering since im scared to rec it all the way since its been swapped from a 2.0 to a 1.6 and the dash is the old one that redlines at 6.8k not at 6k.
I've been thinking that it might be the BMW 320i with Bosch Motronic fuel injection, but I'm not so sure. Any ideas?
Like yeah doing donuts and stuff wears on a car obviously, but these cars are known for sliding around though
While driving in first person, I noticed that the car's speedometer was unusually high when I was driving slow. So I pulled over and started revving the car, just to find out about this

I have a 2010 Impreza GT (imported from Japan) and Cobb doesnβt work with it.. it currently has a 4 Speed Electric Automatic Transmission.. i want my car to be decently fast in the 1/8th mile(my best time with the automatic is a 9.22s) but i canβt launch my car at the rpms i want to launch it at (it being an automatic i cant get higher than 3000rpms by holding the breaks and gas) being a literal JDM car, with the JDM ecu i have 0 support from any Cobb Accessports.. will Bee*R work for my 4EAT? or should i look into manual swapping?
(Car is completely stock, mods catching dust until i have a definite answer on this launching problem that i have)
I've seen people use manual with clutch, but lock their revs in place higher than I normally can by just holding the gas in handbrake/brake, any way i can do that as well?
Im just curious because there is no tachometer. It would make sense to me that if the bike doesn't have a tachometer that it probably has a rev limiter but I have no idea. Anyone have any input?
