A list of puns related to "Rent (albums)"
I wanted to love it so bad π¬
Hey, I'm a long time luker, first time poster! Sorry if anything's wacky about my post formatting.
I was going through my discover weekly and found this album called IX by RENT STRIKE. It's a concept album about lord of the rings, but maps that story structure onto a tale about someone struggling with drug addiction.
I was astounded with how well it works, so I thought I'd recommend it to you guys. Sorry if it's already well known here, but the band seemed to have relatively few listens, even for our beloved niche genre.
Lol like what
For the past few months Iβve been in an awful financial situation. I was living paycheck to paycheck and I didnβt have time to find a second job.
I got laid off from that job and I picked up 2 jobs that barely pay me and gave me working awful hours. I do my best but Iβm still struggling. So much that I had to choose between paying my rent, phone bill and utilities and paying for food.
I was telling my coworker about it and how I hadnβt eaten a full meal in weeks and he offered to invite me over for dinner. I knew he was hitting on me but I just needed a real meal. So I agreed. I went over to his apartment alone with him and ate. He then offered me 250 dollars if I let him have sex with me.
Being the disgusting piece of trash I am, I reluctantly agreed and experienced 25 minutes of the most degrading and demoralizing sex of my life. I feel so dirty and Iβll never be able to clean of what I did. I never thought this would be my life.
To add insult to injury he only gave me 200 since I denied him a sexual act I wasnβt comfortable with him doing. He then slapped me on my ass and sent me off my way like a common hooker.
Edit:
Please stop offering to send me money. I donβt want anyones charity. I work for what I get, I will never beg anyone for anything which is why I refused to go to a soup kitchen. I do not take handouts.
I live in a midsized city and work for a very large employer. I have a high level graduate degree from an Ivy League (and the associated debt), unexpected medical bills, car payment, the works.
Iβm in one of those βpay your duesβ post graduate jobs that has long term rewards but short term loss. Iβm actually quite happy but the βpay your duesβ portion is a little too low, Iβm having extreme difficultly making ends meet.
I chatted with my boss yesterday. He told me I signed up for this, I agreed, but obviously before severe inflation and my unexpected medical bills. When I mentioned rent, he asked me how much I pay, and when I said the cheapest I could find in the city that wasnβt sketchy was $1,500, he seemed absolutely at a loss. He told me ten years ago he got an apartment for a third of that, and only made $4,000 less than me a year.
Needless to say, I think I made my point. Weβll see if anything comes of it. Itβs amazing to me how out of touch these people are. Things have changes astronomically in just ten years and they havenβt bothered to keep up.
UPDATE: My boss reached out and asked me to put together a proposal for an increase, and to loop in my colleagues as well. Baby steps!
When I moved here about a year and a half ago, I got a nice apartment for about $900 a month, only 15 mins from work. Now Iβm looking to move in August and wanted to see what kinda options Iβd have, and rent seems to be $1,200 a month minimum in this area now! I pay about $980 and even thatβs stretching my budget. $300 avg increase in less than 2 years, almost 30% (is my math right?)
So now Iβm considering moving further away, having about a 40min commute, for about $1,000 a month. I donβt mind long morning drives because it gives me time to listen to a podcast and eat breakfast to wake up a little. But 40 mins seems like a lot and it would be the longest commute Iβve had.
Which would you do: $1,200+ for a 20 minute commute or $1,000 for a 40 minute commute? Please give me your insight and opinion on this matter, as my mom recommends I just move back in with them for a 1.5hr commute lol.
I wanted to see if I could download an album the same way I could borrow an audiobook from the library with Overdrive. I'm looking to listen to some new music at work, but I don't have wi-fi there.
Landlords typically donβt care/ donβt bother replacing or even supplying decent shower heads. Invest in your own, it will make a world of difference, and it doesnβt cost that much. Also, store the crappy shower head under the sink until you move so you can replace it and take yours with you. In my opinion, a good shower experience helps start the day off right. Make sure youβre enjoying your shower experience!
My (M24) dad recently passed away. In his will he left damn near everything to me because I am/was his only child, this includes his property which was 100% paid off.
My dads girlfriend (not wife as they were never married) had been with him for 7 years and made a huge stink about not being left anything at all in his will. We ended up having to go to court over the issue and she ended up getting 50% of the value of what he attained during their time together. However this doesnβt include his property as it was fully paid prior to them being together.
After all the paperwork was done and everything was in my name I told her that I had no issue continuing to live there but sheβd have to pay rent at market value (β$2700 usd a month easily). She and her mother lived/leeched off my dad for years paying for absolutely nothing and I was fully aware that she couldnβt afford this. She got really upset with me saying βYour dad would be disappointed and disgustedβ and tried to use her mother being unwell as an excuse to try to stay for free/minimal rent.
I simply told her that the place is in my name now and I can and will do what I please. Her options were to pay the rent or move out (I did agree to give her one month to get her shit together). I even went as far as to say that I would sell the place if I had to and weβll see if the new owner lets her freeload.
My girlfriend and grandparents think Iβm being harsh but I simply have had enough of her leeching of us and itβs stopping now.
TL;DR Told my dads girlfriend sheβs has to pay rent or gtfo of whatβs now my house.
The tracking report keeps saying βoh, itβs halfway thereβ

I have a friend at The Morgan in Sellwood who rents a 1-bedroom for $1375 yet online it says they're $1495+. Another friend down the street pays $1295 including all utilities for an older private 1-bed. Another friend in Sullivan's Gulch pays $1295 + electric for an old but huge 1-bed.
What's your rent this year?
(I already live here btw)
Mine is when Kim's boyfriend Ken said that must have gotten a fingernail stuck in his eye on a trip to Hawaii. I still have so many questions.
That episode originally aired January 9, 2012. As of yesterday, that was officially ten years ago. I've thought about this moment relatively consistently for ten years.
Now you go.
I got a small promotion a few months ago. Only an extra Β£1500 per year. Almost a third will disappear to a rent increase I was just served notice of - an extra Β£900 per year between myself and my partner. The best part is the reasoning; rent has risen across the area, so the landlord wants to do the same. Asking for more for doing nothing.
How in the name of Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ are younger generations supposed to save for mortgages, or anything, for that matter?
Hereβs to the scummy bloodsuckers, they can all kindly suck a fuck ππ»
