A list of puns related to "Reliability centered maintenance"
I ran across this thing called reliability centered maintenance which is essentially based around pre-mortums of each possible failure condition. This only seems to have been applied to industrial projects but has this been or could this also apply to software?

As title says, looking for maintenance/reliability management aspects like org structure, cost, continuos improvement, strategies, etc.
I am particularly interested in manufacturing industry, but for management aspects this would not be critical.
I don't want to buy a car that was abused. A former rental car would almost certainly have been abused, but I'm not sure about a former government vehicle?
Any 2017-18 c43 owners that can comment on longer term reliability? After warranty period, did you encounter unusual or unexpected repairs? Iβm looking at a used 2018 that has 6 months of factory warranty left (itβs not a CPO) and wondering if Iβd be getting in over my head. The car was treated well and maintained properly, what should I expect?
Saw a gorgeous 2009 S5 listed for 15k with 74k miles in what looks like mint condition at a local dealer. It immediately grabbed my attention of how good it looked, especially it being a V8 and with red leather interior. Now I know itβs a German and I shouldnβt expect Japanese reliability or cheap parts, but Iβd like to hear from people who have or still own these beautiful machines. Is it an endless money pit or just about right? Considering itβs NA I expect better reliability than a FI car. Let me know what you guys think.
Whatβs up yβall, Iβm currently looking at a 2003 530i with 120k. Iβm just wondering what these cars are like to own and what the major replacement components are for a 120k M54 engine. All the things Iβve read is that theyβre one of the most reliable bmw engines ever built.
I currently own a f30 335, and Iβve owned a 06 325i in the past so Iβm no stranger to bmws and their costs and such. I just know very little about the 5 series and M54 engine in general, so any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Also the car will be from a a dealer if that makes any difference
I haven't owned an Audi before but looking to purchase a pre-owned 2018 A4.. curious to know for current 2018 A4 owners or those familiar with the car, how reliable are they? How many miles can I expect to get with regular maintenance and how much does this car eat up for regular maintenance?
Anything else I should know about the car? Thanks!
Young UK petrol head here considering getting into a Bentley Arnage soon but may be a bit of a stretch maintaining it. Iβm happy to put a reasonable amount aside for maintenance/repairs like Β£3k/year on average but anything more may be a bit of a stretch. I plan to use the car as a daily driver so will it not be sat in a garage.
Also if thereβs anything to look out for when buying would be helpful.
Edit: specifically post 2002 red labels
I'm considering getting the giulia quadrifoglia, but I have a few concerns about reliability and maintenance.
First, I enjoy working on my cars myself, how easy would you say that alfa romeos are to work on? Even for simple things like brake lights and oil changed.
Second, I've read a couple of issues regarding reliability, what has your experience with this been like?
Third, is cost of maintenance and reliability. I was looking into the BMW M2 but parts on bmw's are extremely expensive.
Need to do maintenance on my beloved Honda Civic in Tulsa for the first time: change oil, transmission fluid and change the 4 tires. Any tips on where to get this done? (looking for reliability and good value, like my Honda Civic)
I am curious to know the Shelby owners of r/Mustang's experience with the GT350. I recently got in a mild argument with a buddy of mine over whether the Shelby is worth getting over the GT. For me, the GT350 is THE Mustang I've always wanted, and engineers in Ford's Special Vehicle Team have echoed similar sentiments upon it's release. We all know why the 350 is so awesome, so I need not say more.
Onto the question at hand: My friend posits that the GT is the better car purely because of the Coyote's superior reliability. I know it's common knowledge that the Voodoo was. . . finnicky, to say the least, when it was initially sold for the 2016 model year. But from some owners I've talked to that have cars beyond the 2016 model year it seems to have held up much better.
So, r/Mustang, what has your experience been owning a GT350? Is it as unreliable as critics say? Or may it be over-exaggerated, perhaps confirmation bias?
So far my wishlist includes an older Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Acura MDX, Subaru Forester, Jeep Liberty or Commander, maybe Hyundai Santa Fe, maybe a Nissan Rogue since there's one for sale for a good price near me (but I have reservations about the reliability), maybe a Ford Escape... These are more or less in order. What else should I look out for?
I want something that will be reliable and won't cost me thousands of dollars in repairs all at once soon. I much prefer a vehicle with a timing chain than belt for this reason. The ones at the top of the list I'd accept with higher miles than the ones lower on the list (got my last CRV up to 275k miles before it died), so maybe around max 175k miles for the first few and max 100k for the last few. At my price range I'm looking at models 9-15 years old. Checking the carfax reports for maintenance and accidents. Also have a good mechanic on standby to look it over. But I need a vehicle I can get a good 5 years and 60k miles or so out of. I do go hiking a lot and so I would ideally like AWD or 4wd, though I don't do any real offroading. Just driving up some winding mountain dirt/gravel roads sometimes (so also needs decent clearance underneath).
I know the budget seems small for this, but I'm in SC and prices are a little lower here even on used cars, and I have a knack for talking people down to their minimum, lol. Anything else I should consider? Any of these have issues I should stay away from? The Nissan Rogue is an attractive deal at $5300 with 98k miles and AWD but I'm not sure about the reliability of that vehicle.
I'm a chemical engineering / biochemistry undergrad with the opportunity to intern as an automation or maintenance/reliability engineer at a polymers manufacturing company. I really wanted a process engineering or R&D internship but I have had no luck. When I graduate, I'm interested in getting a job in the biotech industry, so I don't know if an automation or maintenance/reliability internship would be setting me in this direction.
Long story short, my question is: Would taking an automation or maintenance/reliability engineer internship position be worth it if it doesn't completely align with my interests? Or should, I just take it because any internship is better than no internship? The alternative if I don't take the position and don't find another position I'm more interested in is to continue doing paid bioE research at my lab while taking summer classes.
Thanks in advance!
Thinking about upgrading from A4 to S4/5. I havent had any issues with my car since I havent had it for too long, but am interested in all the nitty gritty of the S. Any well know issues I should know about with the 3.0T or the ZF8? What are yall paying for maintenance and running costs? Thanks!
Hey guys, I got my bone stock β11 speed3 two months ago with 126k on it. Within the first month I took it and got the intake valves blasted, injector seals upgraded, injectors cleaned and flow tested, throttle body cleaned, valve cover gasket redone, and new spark plugs thrown in and lastly had my VVT done.
Now, my questions is whatβs next for reliability? Iβm thinking I need to service the PCV valve and potentially put a baffles plate on there, if Iβm doing that should I also throw on a catch can? I canβt delete the EGR or I wonβt pass emissions sadly.
Thanks guys, Iβm trying to get a ton of reliability stuff taken care of first before I start throwing the fun parts on the car.
TLDR; Thinking of buying one, Give me your experiences with the bike as a daily use.
Hi, I currently ride an SWM SM 125 4 stroke sumo, I discovered the DRZ 400 recently and I really like it.The sad thing is that I live in Italy and the latest models imported were the 2008 ones, so there are a few bikes for sale but they all have something between 20-30k km.
I'm not going to ask if it's "worth it" to drop 3k on a 12-15 years old bike because that would be stupid, but I'd like to ask people that have one already to provide some feedback about this beautiful bike, yes I've read that it's basically a tank but I'd like some more details, I'm good at DIY but I've never opened an engine more than to change the oil/filter/spark plug, will I be looking at some heavy maintenance down the line? are there some common critical things that can go bad? I'd be using the bike pretty much daily (I ride all seasons for now) both for commuting and for doing trips and interesting routes, not planning on going off-road with it.
So if you guys could give some feedback on stuff like how the seat feels (on my 125cc it's pretty much a piece of wood so I'm used to bad ones haha), what's maintenance like, parts availability, etc
The thing that bothers me the most is the absence of 6th gear, i've seen the bike hit 150km/h on youtube so it could technically keep up with highway speed (130km/h is the max here) but at the same not single a sumo is made for highway speeds.
I'm currently looking at this one, sorry the page is ofc in Italian if you want to take a peek you would probably need to translate it.
I thought of getting a 850 as my first car and want to know how reliable they are and how much work they need to maintain. Are there problems with Rust and electronics?
I am considering buying a 2017 or newer DB11 for a weekend toy. Would probably be driven 3-5k miles per year. Can anyone provide insight or resources on reliability and maintenance costs? Is buying a Certified Pre-Owned worth it since the warranty is only 12 months? Thanks!
