Reed aerophone Puns

I don't have a local store with an EWI or Aerophone (and I'm not sure they'd allow play tests anyway…). Can anyone comment on how the mouthpiece feels? For example, does it feel like plastic, similar to a recorder? More like a woody clarinet reed? Something else entirely?

Also, do you need to keep the reed wet like a sax/clarinet reed?

In order to effectively record and research alien music, we as researchers must effectively and thoroughly describe the species we find and their musics.

First i would like give a list of the categories that should be listed when describing an alien species and a justification of each categories as to why they are important to list. Hopefully this helps guide further Xenomusicological inquirey and documentaion.

1.)Species- give the name of the Alien race you are documenting as they pronounce it/describe themselves. We want to respect these species and their culture, not just assign them easy to remember/offensive names based off physical characteristics.

2.)Home Planet/Star system- Give a brief description of the home planet/star system. (Topography, climate, atmosphere, exports, imports, other pertinent info, etc...)

3.) Biology and appearance- giving a full description of the specie's morphology and biology will help researchers better understand the ergonomics of the species' instruments as well as how the species evolved to become an "art producing species" or "APS". (for example: a species with no mouth will most likely not have songs in their musical history but may use mostly percussive or string instruments in their compositions)

4.) Language- if a species has an audible language, describe the sounds made and how they are articulated. Language, and the development of which, seems to correlate directly with how the music of a species is created/interpreted by the alien species, so documenting it is of great academic interest. If a species communicates nonverbally or telepathically or otherwise, make note of this in your entry.

5.) Overview of History and Culture- A description of major historical events and aspects of culture may give insight to the purpose of APS. (for example: if a species highly values stories and storytellers, their art may take on a narrative role. A species that has suffered through a major conflict or catyclism may have a plethora of songs depicting them. etc...)

6.)Musical sytles/description of music construction- listing relevant and pertinent musical genres/styles created/performed by the species

7.)Description of instruments-give a brief description of common instruments used in the genres you list and how they work physically as weel as famous players if there are any. (for example: a human transverse flute is an aerophone used in a variety of different musical genres including but not limited to western europ

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
