A list of puns related to "Reader Rabbit Toddler"
My cousin has 2 kids aged 1 and a half and 3. She wants to buy the younger a continental giant for her 2nd birthday. I tried to explain that it's a terrible idea and she said that she wants a dog but can't dedicate the time so she'll get the rabbit instead. I said that from my experience rabbits need more time and attention than dogs but she won't listen.
Hopefully she'll change her mind by July, but I'm really worried she's going to get this rabbit and then mistreat and neglect it. I don't want to mumshame but her house is a mess and she can only just balance 2 kids and work, let alone adding a rabbit into the mix. She's also got no money so definitely won't be able to afford vets visits and buying hay.
Edit: I tried explaining how expensive vets bills, food etc is and she just brushed it off. It's all come from the fact that the childminder where the youngest goes has a continental giant and the kid really loves it.
She said she plans to take the rabbit to play with the childminders rabbit whilst she's at work. I told her that they're not like dogs and if you put 2 unbonded rabbits together they'll try to kill each other but she just brushed it all off
We adopted our bunny when she was 6 months old from a local shelter after fostering her for 3 months. She was on the βdesperate for fosterβ list. The shelter didnβt give us any info about her background, but her legs and belly were green and brown (her coat is pure white so we knew it was probably a tough situation). We set her up in our guest bedroom to start, and shortly after she was able to roam free for most of the day and did well with litter training. Sheβs been with us for almost 3 years now. My question is: Is it cruel to try and harness train her for walks in the spring/summer? How would I go about getting her comfortable in a harness? Our geriatric dog loves being βwalkedβ in a toddler wagon, they both get along, so why not try adding her to the wagon ride? Any advice is appreciated!
Platform(s): PC / Audio CD
Genre: Learning
Estimated year of release: Somewhere between 2000 and 2012?
Graphics/art style: Cartoony
Notable characters: Reader Rabbit, Sam the Lion
Notable gameplay mechanics: Don't remember
Other details: The main detail I remember about this game is the audio CD that came with it, though I can't find any record of it online. In fact, the audio CD is what I'm primarily interested in, since many of the songs are STILL going through my head years later. The song bits that I can remember are as follows:
Those are the two songs I remember the most, but there were more. I'm going crazy trying to find information on it, but this CD doesn't seem to show up under regular searches, and it isn't listed on the Wiki as far as I can tell. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I only have two specific memories, there was one specific part in the game where these two cartoon (obviously) pill bugs were playing basketball. They would roll but into a ball and shoot each other into a hoop and repeat. There was also a part where there was an i-spy-esque minigame where it was like a poster of outer space and this little (rabbit?) guy would hide and you would have to find him in the picture of space. It's not much to go off of but hopefully someone a little older than me has played this and has a more developed memory. Thank you.
Today, my 24 month old was holding our rabbit. I was about 20 feet away, watering the garden and keeping an eye on them. For the most part, the rabbit would lie down and let my child pet her. Then, the bunny would run away and my toddler would get very frustrated and try and catch the bunny again. I kept checking in and reminding my child to be gentle, modeling gentle petting.
When I came over to pet the rabbit myself, I noticed a bit of blood on my child. I thought that the rabbit must have bit them, but there were no marks on my kid. I was confused and didn't see any obvious marks on the bunny either, so I gently placed the bunny in my child's lap. A few seconds later, I see my kid lean down and latch onto the rabbit's ear. I instantly grabbed the rabbit, scolding my child and attended to the bunny's wounds, then put it away.
My child was extremely upset about the rabbit being taken away, as well being shouted at by me that the poor bunny was very hurt and me saying "NO BITING! OUCH!". I was initially upset and shocked but it wasn't until I looked more closely at the rabbit's ears that I became borderline enraged. My child had bitten the ears down to the cartilage. The bite marks are maybe half a centimeter long. I cannot, CANNOT believe this. I cleaned the wounds more deeply and will be taking it to the vet.
I already called my child's pediatrician about this event. My child has bitten me in frustration many times, and has bitten a little girl at their daycare. My kid is starting to bite their hand when frustrated, enough to leave impression marks that last for hours. I'm extremely concerned about this behavior. Also, while I was angrily washing my hands after cleaning the rabbit's wounds, my child was crying for my attention and tried to bite my thigh. I lost it- I already have a big bruise and bite mark on my leg from them biting me last week. I immediate squatted down, grabbed my kid's arms, locked eyes with my child and yelled "NO BITE!!!". I don't know how to change this behavior!
Is my 24 month old able to understand that they were inflicting pain on the rabbit? I believe my child was biting the rabbit both because they are sensory seeking and also out of frustration that the rabbit kept running away from them.
My best friend conducts developmental assessments and had been monitoring my child since day one. She believes that my child is sensory seeking and very impatient, but not developmentally delayed or o
... keep reading on reddit β‘When I was younger, I remember playing Reader Rabbit 2 (1991 edition) at a cousin's house for about two days. Still remember the sounds of it pretty vividly. Recently, I looked up youtube videos on it, and could not find a single one with the correct sound, or anything close to it.
A friend of mine has recently helped me get CLOSE to the correct sounds, with Sound Blaster 1 settings, but something is still... off? It's very hard to describe, but I'm certain it sounded more rich than what I currently hear. I know this is going to be chocked up to 'well you were a kid, you probably imagined it differently' but I've had a weird knack for memorizing childhood sounds, and I wouldn't be digging this hard if I knew they didn't exist.
I know next to nothing about DOSbox, the settings were done for me, but I've tried a few sound options and Sound Blaster 1 (1-16, they all sound the same) is the closest one so far. I even looked up if I could just play the sound effect files with little luck. Does.. anyone out there know what this game originally sounded like? Or am I actually crazy.
EDIT: My friend helped me out immensely with some emulation. What I played was the DOS version of Reader Rabbit 2 (1991) with a MT-32 soundcard. The graphics and sound are EXACTLY what I remember and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you to those who responded <3
New book coming out soon by Brian Cox. It's his autobiography, or memoir.
Putting the Rabbit in the Hat

Release date: January 18th, 2022
I'm sure several of you in here will want to read this.
Hi! I grew up on computer cd games in the early 2000s and I remember this song vividly sung by a chicken(maybe a rooster) about cans of soup on an educational game very similar to reader rabbit where you click on scenes and a song/animation plays. I have tried scouring game play of reader rabbit and I cant find what I'm looking for. I will definitely check out any suggestions! Thanks for helping me relieve this childhood game β€
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
[Spoilers ahead]
So, due to a comment by a certain user, I feel obligated to explain that I do NOT want a twist ending you guys should write for me and that the rabbit-headed girl is NOT an undeveloped character with no pre-determined purpose.
I have my integrity, even though I'm just an amateur writer and am not making any money of any of this (not yet at least).
Here she is.
Name: Madeleine
Purpose: leads Leah through the underground as a shortcut back to the park. Yes, she actually wants to help.
Background: she is a Wild One, but was turned not too long ago by being kidnapped and taken to the underground, basically a changeling child. She also still remembers her true name because not too much time has passed. The Wild One who kidnapped her was not Warin, but she hates him simply because he is one of the only ones stationarily allowed on the surface. Her grudge is childish, but she is a child, so... yeah. The Wild Ones travel underground, so when she saw him do so, she followed him and found Leah.
The Underground as a shortcut: Time and space don't work the natural way down there, allowing Leah and Madeleine to get extremely close to the park in very little time.
The rough storyline of the next chapter:
-Leah and Madeleine talk and she explains her swapping and grudge to her
-they enter the underground through a "rabbit hole" (I had to lol) and sneak past a couple of very messed up creatures doing their thing
-things get too crowded (metaphor to obscure hard spoiler) so they have to get out earlier than expected, but Leah realizes that they are close enough for a co-worker, in this case Darius, to come pick them up
-Darius drives them to the park (in time) and Leah uses the time of the car ride to write down what they experienced
The chapter after that will by the way probably be the last one.
There, I'm not sure if this proves my innocence, but I have my pride. I'm not sure if all of you think of me this way, but I sure hope not.
I would feel terribly ashamed if I based my writing decisions off of comments and readers.
I'd be a millionhare

My mom says this was one of my favorite games from when I was little, and I remember it. She says it was a Reader Rabbit game. It came with a hat and microphone that you spoke into to play it as it taught you words.
The story was a raccoon canβt read a sign placed outside its house, so it goes on a journey to learn how to read so he can read it.
One mini game was feeding either letters or words into these pods on trees in a jungle.
I looked through all the Reader Rabbit games, but none matched this description.
