A list of puns related to "Rambha (apsara)"
It's amazing how much more convincing they are if you meet them first. If you meet them second they mainly just give reasons against the other one, without giving a good argument for their position. You don't even need to read it all, just look the difference in size.
If you talk to Apsaras first she says:
> "Welcome. This is a haven for demons who lack the means to survive on their own. I am Apsaras, a spirit of water. This is a world where demons roam freeβ¦ However, the truth is that there are many weaker demons who are greatly oppressed by those stronger than them. I believe that those demons deserve the right to live as much as any other. And it is for that reason that Iβve come to this land, to offer the minimum knowledge and means for them to survive." > > "Yes, by knowing your own weakness, you can very well learn to make better choices in life. Becoming stronger is one solution, yes, but if that path is too difficult, then seeking protection from another is perfectly fine as well.My circle of gods are prepared to offer their protection. If you have nowhere else to turn, you may depend on them. That is how gods should bring salvation, after all." > > "β¦Despite my intentions, however, I have been met with an interloper who strongly disapproves of my methods. She is a demon named Leanan Sidhe. She deceives those weaker her by giving them the impression they have what it takes to achieve their dreams. Not only that, but she only supports a select few of her choosingβ¦ Sadly, it would appear that she sees them as little more than a source of nourishment. I say if you want to support the dreams of another, then raise that individual to be capable. Donβt simply offer empty words of encouragement. That is why I help the weak by offering both somewhere to belong and the means to survive to as many as I possibly can." > > "If something isnβt done about Leanan Sidhe, more and more demons will lose confidence in themselves as they inevitably realize their own inabilities and fade away like a dying star. Which leads me to asking for you help. Could you assist me in putting an end to that witchβs treachery? Stop her, and I vow to join you and lend every ounce of my strength."
If you talk to Apsaras second she says:
> "Welcome. This is a haven for the weakβ¦ Oh? I can sense Leannan Sidheβs presence within you. I see. So that demon has not completely misled you yet. Very well, then I too shall explain. She deceives those weaker he

Here, he claims that Rambha (an asura) cohabited and had beastial coitus with the female buffalo. However, a simple google search, through wikipedia shows, that the asura Rambha had taken the form of a buffalo before cohabiting.
>Once, he saw a water buffalo and fell in love with her. So he converted himself into a water buffalo and started living with her. While the buffalo was pregnant, another male water buffalo became attracted towards her. Rambha and that stranger water buffalo had a long fight finally resulting in Rambha's death. Later, the water buffalo was killed by the soldiers of Rambha.

The context is the story of how Danava Mahisha also known as Mahishasura was born. It is detailed in Chapter 2 of the Shrimad Devi Bhagvatham in the conversation between Veda Vyas and Dhritarashtra , the king of Kauravas.
In the same text that the OP of the post references, just 2 pages before, the king asks how Rambha got the body of a buffalo.
The story begins with the conversation when Veda Vyas chronicles the great struggle between the asuras and devas. He speaks of Mahishasura and his penance (tapasya) to his Ishta-deva. This is when Brahma granted him the boon of immortality.
When Veda Vyas speaks of Mahishasura's origins, the king asks how Mahishasura got the body of a buffalo, to which Veda Vyasa chronicles the story of the Danavas (asura clan) and the story of Rambha and Karambha (brothers). He speaks of how they had practiced asceticism for long years and in Pancha Nada (modern day Punjab). Indra took the form of a crocodile and slayed Karambha. Rambha was so furious that he told Agnidev that he would offer his head as atmahatya. To this, Agni dev tells him:
"Why do you want to offer your head? Atmahatya is a great sin. Those who slayed your brother should incur the sin."
Agni grants him a boon that Rambha can take the form of any animal and cohabit with a female of that species to produce a son more powerful than him. That animal is a buffalo and that's why he has coitus with the buffalo - because he becomes one.
