A list of puns related to "Protectorate General to Pacify the East"
During the invasion, battles broke out in cities across the globe. However as most of us know, the majority of the conflict on Earth centered around the city of Mombasa and the surrounding area. This is where the Covenant was excavating the Ark portal and also where the Flood landed and launched their own assault.
Given all of this and in light of the new multiplayer trailer for Halo: Infinite, were any other Spartans besides Chief deployed to the EAP during the defense of Earth and if not, why?
Jesus Christ this is getting out of hand. China historically had trouble sending emmisaries as far as the Caspian for gods sake let alone an army. The western protectorate was ultimately a failure of an idea and never went past even the tarim basin. If you look at the top posts now you see that China controls lands from Mongolia to fucking MALI.
Also practically speaking it's absolutely ridiculous. No one can march tens if not hundreds of thousands of troops across continental Asia and Europe and not lose a single soldier to attrition. They aren't supposed to be Mongols at all. They aren't even supposed to be aggressive in this period historically speaking. The western protectorate ended before the god damn charlegmane start and they never bothered again.
It is game breaking and game ruining to see China own large swaths of the map much firmer than they could ever hold them historically meaning you can almost never get them, and that they can invade as far as Ireland is just majorly annoying for players.
TLDR: the title.
First, let me clearly explain that I think ISIS is full of maniacs that deserve death, and shouldn't be allowed to influence the world in any way, whatsoever. Most of their victims are innocent people, and they should be helped.
I am not interested in debating previous US roles in Middle East governance - for example, our support of the shah in Iran, our continued support of the Saudi kingdom, or Musharraf in Egypt. I agree, the US has played some dubious roles and at times, has not contributed to the greater good in the Middle East. I'd like to limit the scope of conversation to only consider relevant, recent happenings in Syria, Iraq and with regard to ISIS.
That said, I recognize it's all a complex mess, so I'll likely even reference things out of my own scope during discussion... But let's try to focus on the here and now.
My assertion is that the extremism projected by ISIS is the logical and predictable outcome of typical Middle East governance.
The Saudis, conservative sunnis, are lopping heads off left and right - recently even for the crime of sorcery.
In Iran, the government censors everything it is able and hangs people for all manners of "crimes" including victims of rape.
If you have access to the internet, and are interested in reading about, or discussing the Middle East, you certainly know it only gets worse... Egypt has been known to routinely torture prisoners, many political. In Dubai, a pair of British tourists can be convicted for kissing in public. I believe it was the UAE where another British tourist was arrested and held for using foul language in public (I recall there was an argument with a taxi driver or something). The list goes on, and on, and on...
I'm not making any disparaging remarks about the populations or character of people in these countries. Instead, I am talking about their governance and legal systems. These countries are backward, religiously oppressed, corrupt, breeding grounds for extremism. They use violence and religion to control populations with threat of violence. To keep these tools effective, they fund and encourage ext

I was thinking about it the other day, that there are 70 cities in the US that had a PRT department, I assume that the PRT has the equivalent of small to medium sized police departments outside of these major cities, with even small towns having at least a hand full of officers, but what about capes outside of those cities? Are there small protectorate branches with 3 people that cover a several county area, or do they just join up with the local PRT branch as a powered member of the PRT, or are they drafted to the nearest big city? are they mostly independent but affiliated with the protectorate as an independent? what are your thoughts on it?
With the news of both Australia and Portugal withdrawing from Timor, this leaves the natives in a state of anarchy. We declare a protectorate over East Timor, using the existing 10,000 American soldiers who have been sent to the island as the law keeping force. Any assaults on East Timor during this time will be interpreted as a declaration of war on the United States of America.
We hold a referendum with the options of joining Indonesia or independence.
I some how managed to avoid it, but was hoping to play as them. It is now 1939
I like tinkering with maps, particularly ones from the first half of the twentieth century, and one thing I've noticed is that there seems to be little agreement between maps as to the exact status of those two territories.
Some seem to shade them and mark them out the same as the other occupied territories
Others seem to consider them as actually integral parts of Germany proper
So what was their official status in the German Reich?
Since Aragorn forbid any of the Big People from entering Shire, does that mean that Shire is effectively an independent state? Or maybe they are sort of a protectorate where they are still part of Arnor, but they need to pay a tribute? What do you think?
